Dooney and Bourke | Metallic Nile Handbag
Metallics, don’t you just love the lustrous, sparkling metallic shades? I just adore this shimmery metallic line that Dooney and Bourke just released for winter 2006. What truly tops this line off is the alligator snake-like texture, which D&B carried over from the Nile line, a previous collection.

Also I mustn’t forget the top flap with a sleek lock-closure. The style of the top handle bags resemble a bags from the Hermes line, only D&B is thousands of dollars cheaper. Two of my absolute favorite bags for this season some from this line, the elongated clutch, and the top handle with lock bag both in gunmetal. I have to go get one of these bags!

About Designer Coach

November 29, 2004

Coach
Coach began more than half of a century ago as a family-run workshop in a Manhattan loft. Six artisans handcrafted a collection of high-quality leathergoods using skills passed down from generation to generation. Discerning consumers soon began to seek out the high standards of Coach workmanship.

The founder of Coach was first inspired by a baseball glove when he saw =”its distinctive markings and how supple it became with use. After refining it, making it softer and stronger, he created Coach’s first handbag. Since then, innovations in leather finishes, new grains and colors, and modern materials continue to fascinate us. But this glove-tanned leather remains a Coach tradition. And it still burnishes as beautifully as it did back when Babe Ruth played baseball.

Throughout the years, Coach has maintained the highest standards of workmanship and materials. Now, greatly expanded, Coach’s exceptional workforce is committed to carefully upholding the principles of quality and integrity which made the company great. Today, Coach is considered a classic part of the landscape of American design.

More than forty years ago, Coach introduced twelve eloquently simple bag designs with classic, well-balanced proportions. Over the years, we have added a multitude of new shapes, styles and materials, but each collection embodies the same principles of classic design and American style.

Every Coach product embodies the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Sizes, shapes, pockets and straps are carefully considered to provide maximum efficiency, comfort and convenience. Seams are double-stitched where reinforcement is required. In our glove-tanned pieces, the inside pockets, handles straps and interior bound edges are all made of the same leather to ensure a consistency of color and texture.

Coach selects only the top ten percent of leathers for their tactile quality, strength, character and grain. In the tanning process the untreated leather is rotated for days in large drums where it is softened and enriched with natural treatments drawn from plant extracts, fats and clear aniline dyes. Like fingerprints, no two grain patterns are alike. Our method of slow curing brings the natural markings to the surface, which makes every Coach product original and unique.

Their glove-tanned pieces are crafted from natural leather which burnishes over time, acquiring a rich, lustrous patina. From handbags to backpacks, each style features signature details such as distinctive hardware, double-needle stitching and bound edges. The shapes soften gradually to the touch, taking on the individual imprint of the wearer.

Their Business Collection features a broad range of pieces, including briefcases, organizers, planners, notepads, computer cases and cell phone cases. Function is paramount, as is an understated sophistication.

The Travel Collection is a luxurious assortment of highly durable and functional luggage and travel accessories in leather and lightweight travel twill created to address the diverse needs of business and weekend travelers.

Beyond these collections, Coach offers a variety of handbags and accessories encompassing a wide range of materials and updated designs.

Versace Resort Collection

Versace | Resort Collection
Redesigned but still a new arrival! It’s that time of the year, when the designer crowd such as Versace put out a new collection called Cruise or Resort. Versace’s resort is reinvented every year prior to the spring season. It’s the type of collection where you are wishing that winter would come to an end. If you were walking down the street and someone passed you with a print from this collection, you wouldn’t miss it. The colors pallets that the Versace designers have chosen are an array of bright vibrant colors. The pattern that is in the stores is the Orchid and Shell Print with bamboo detailing. I don’t think I will get a bag from this collection anytime soon. I’m still stuck in the cold winter mode. Don’t get me wrong, this line is adorable, but not yet for me.

I know I never mention shoes, but check out the sandals to match this line. Orchid and Shell Espadrille SandalThe bamboo clutch with the wrap around strap peek-a-boo sandals is a perfect combination. Clutch and shoes combo is $2197.

Marc by Marc Jacobs | Kaleidoscope Flower Velvet
Pretty pretty new glamorous things from Marc Jacobs for his Marc collection! When I first saw this handbag it blew me away with excitement. This super lush fabric is what initially drew me in. It looked so unbelievably soft, that I just wanted to cuddle with it.

I usually pick apart one minor flaw that I don’t like about a bag, but with this one there isn’t anything to complain about. What I truly adore about these pleated slouchy style bags is the colorful floral print interior, the eye-catching gem hued soft velvet, and the kaleidoscope flower applique that ornament the bags with a dangling tassels.

If you read this December’s Cosmopolitan then you would have seen that “bold rich gem hues on luxurious velvet, is the season’s most fabulous fabric”. I recently bought the hobo Kaleidoscope Flower Velvet bag in hydro blue, which I absolutely adore. This bag also comes in black and gold that shimmers from the plush velvet.

The Marc by Marc Jacobs line is considerably more affordable compared to the more expensive higher end lines, such as this designers Marc Jacobs or Louis Vuitton line.

Dooney and Bourke | Annivarsary Signature
Hooray, the D&B signature is back to add an anniversary addition to the family. There isn’t anything new to the pattern on this collection that wasn’t there before. The new giant sac is my favorite of this collection. It’s big enough to use as a travel or gym bag, just through your stuff in and go.

Coach | Chenille Optic Signature Handbag
A new and limited addition decorated in hues of plush pink and ivory chenille fabric. This is another one of those collections that is not available for sunshine state residents because of the Python skin trim. However there is an alternative, if you call Coach you can get this collection in snakeskin. This collection is for a limited time only; my sources tell me it will be gone soon. This collection is similar to the Chelsea Optic Collection, which does not have any exotic skin.
