Pedicure and manicure time! Paris Hilton meets up with (my favorite of the Hilton’s) sister Nicky for a couple hours to get their nails done. The bag of choice for Paris is the eye-catching Chloe Paddington Satchel in gold, while Nicky went with the simple yet very classic Chanel Bag.

Louis Vuitton Noe Collection

Louis Vuitton | Noe Bag History
Still on my mini vacation but I couldn’t resist putting aside at least 30 minutes of my evening to write up little post. I admit I am addicted to purse blogging. One collection that I have never mentioned before is the Louis Vuitton Noe Collection. Not one of my personal favorites from the House, but the history is mighty impressive.

Brief little history on the Louis Vuitton Noe Bag : The Louis Vuitton Noe was first introduced in 1932 when a champagne house contacted (Gaston Vuitton) Louis Vuitton to make a bag that would hold 5 bottles of champagne. The bag still serves this function: 4 bottles with the bottom down and the 5th inverted and nestled between the others. However, its bottle carrying capacity notwithstanding, the bag is primarily used as a practical city bag for everyday use. This drawstring bag comes in three sizes: the Noe itself (10″ x 13″), Mini Noe (7″ x 5″), and the Petite Noe (9″ x 11″). Also wondering what’s in the name? According to Louis Vuitton the name Noe is French for Noah, who was not only famous for loading animals on the Arc, but for his ability to consume wine.

Louis Vuitton | Epi Noe | View!
The Louis Vuitton pictured above is from the fabulous Epi collection. What I love most about the Epi line is the sleek Epi texture with the discreet embossed LV on the bottom corner – it says Louis Vuitton with out having the classic monogram LV logo all over. My choice of this bag in the Epi would definitely be in the red color (pictured above), but it is only available in simple black at this time. Sorry, I could find a picture. I personally would wait for the red to come back. Retail of this Noe bag in the Epi collection is $1090 however if you like the classic monogram LV signature Noe bag the retail is slightly less for $860.

Louis Vuitton | Monogram Multicolore Petite Noe | View!
The colorful Monogram Multicolor design was produced in 2003 by creative director Marc Jacobs for the house of Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

This is my favorite pick out of all the Noe bags. I adore the Multicolor. The Monogram Multicolor Noe retails for $1,500 however is available at this time in the classic Monogram for only $860.

Louis Vuitton | Monogram Mini Noe | View!
The newest addition to the Louis Vuitton Noe collection is this itty bitty Monogram Mini Noe. Measuring in at only 7″ x 5″ x 9″ this is the smallest of all the Noe bags, even smaller than the petite. The mini Noe is meant to be handheld opposed to the other Noe’s (regular and petite) which have adjustable straps to be worn as a shoulder bag.

While browsing through my archives it has come to my attention that recently I have been blogging mostly on designers such as Louis Vuitton and Hermes. Next week I am going to try to at least go a few days without mentioning the name Louis Vuitton or Hermes. It will be difficult, but I will try (repeat: will try).

On Sale: Fendi Roman Selleria

Bag Bliss the bag blog
Date Added: August 25, 2006

Fendi | Roman leather Selleria hobo | On Sale $1,144.00 (reg $1,430) | View!
In 1997 Silvia Venturini Fendi (third generation Fendi) revived the Selleria line. The Fendi Selleria bags are stitched by hand using ancient Roman leather making techniques to create a soft, pliable texture and are made in special editions.

I never understood why the price for the Selleria Fendi line was so extreme for a bag that doesn’t have much to it. I dont think the bag is ugly at all, its just (imo) there is nothing special here for the price. It must be the “limited edition status”. Well the good news is if you wanted to get your hands on a Selleria bag is that it’s currently on sale for about $300 off the retail. If you like this bag but are not a fan of the black, it is also available on bluefly in mustard, espresso or bronze. Or you can discover this Fendi Roman Selleria Hobo in the color ivory at eluxury. Sorry it’s not on sale there, you are going to get stuck paying the full retail price of $1,430.

Date Added: August 24, 2006, 2006
I get in the region of 1-10 emails a day from bag blog readers. The usual email is from a reader asking me to locate an item, giving me site suggestions or asking a question in general about blogging. If you are interested in joining the crowd of fashionista bloggers, then keep reading. If you don’t care, then click above to go enter to win Free Tickets to the Olympus Fashion Week Sept 9-12 – brought to you by your and my friends over at glam.com!

Email from Sami an Bag Bliss blog reader:
“Hi. I love your blog and I comment frequently. Actually I love it so much I was thinking about starting my own. Like a shoe / bag / accessory blog. But I was wondering can you make money at blogging? How much time do you spend a week blogging? Why do you do it? And do most importantly do you have to be a writer?
Thanks, for reading my email and I hope you keep in touch,
- Sami”

My simple response to you Sami and every accessory loving fashionista is to definitely ‘Go For It!’ If you are passionate about fashion or any other topic, go for it and spread the word and I will even link to you. I love diverse opinions, every morning I enjoy sitting with my laptop and latte ebrowing around on other fashion and celebrity blogs. It’s all just your opinion, so that’s the answer to your question on whether or not you have to be a writer. Although it is a little bit annoying if the blogger is misspelling every word, so be sure to use spell check.

Can you make money at blogging? The financial side of things is that you will not make a great deal of money if you are just starting out, so I wouldn’t quit your day job just yet. You can make a decent amount through affiliate programs and such, however if you are a blogger like me who spends a lot of money on giveaways (louis vuitton wapity and free Bag Bliss good for every tBF member that hits 200 posts) or on other random stuff like a website and software (good thing I have a web designer in my pocket – not really in my pocket) or if you want a forum (vbulliten and seo) then you may be dishing out more money then what you make at first. There are free basic blog templates out there, so give it a try and let me know how things go.

How much time do you have to spend blogging? Well Sami, it all depends on how successful you want your blog to be. Some days I spend 1 hour while other days I spend up to 20 hours (that’s the intense shots of espresso brainstorming days). Average is probably around 8 hours, don’t ask what I do because I dont know, it seems like I am on here all day. I love blogging, it gives me something to do while on summer break and I adore my community of bagista’s (and a couple bagister’s) over in the bag forum.

Ciao for now,
Jennifer

Wednesday eBay Item of the Week!
Hermes | Birkin Shoulder Bag | View!
Late in the day, but here it is – Wednesday eBay item of the week. Look at the Hermes shoulder bag, isn’t it gorgeous! I know not everybody can afford a Hermes Birkin, but they are nice to dream over.

Designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier on behalf of Hermes, the chic 42cm JPG Shoulder Birkin is styled on the infamous Birkin design but to be worn over the shoulder with fashionable oversized hardware. The Hermes Birkin bag was originally created in the Fabuourg workshop in Paris in 1984 for the actress Jane Birkin. The Birkin which is a smaller version of the Haut a Courroies is an extremely versatile bag. With just 150 skilled Hermes craftsmen trained to make the Birkin and Kelly bags and where it can take such a skilled craftsman many hours to make such an equisite bag from cutting to finishing, demand for both the Hermes Birkin and Hermes Kelly bags far exceeds production, hence the notorious Hermes wait lists, where an existing customer can expect to wait from 3-7 years are now closed Worldwide. Each bag will have a code, which identifies the craftsman who made it, the year and the atelier it was made in.

About the Bag: Immaculate pre-owned condition. Hermes JPG Shoulder B (Jean-Paul Gaultier Shoulder Birkin) – This particular Hermes Birkin model is designed to be either hand held or carried over the shoulder. The leather is timeless and classic Black Taurillon Clemence (baby bull) leather exterior (scratch proof and water resistant) with matching stitching and matching clochette. The interior is made of matching black goatskin with no interior pockets. The hardware is oversized and uber trendy Palladium hardware including; strap lock plates engraved Hermes – Paris – made in France (slight surface scratches on hardware which can be polished out), lock plate (still covered by protective plastic), padlock and keys and 4 x protective feet. The unique craftsmans id is I (2005). Measurements are 42cm size – 16.5″ width x 7.5″ height x 8.5″ depth with 6″ drop handles (this particular Birkin is designed to be worn over the shoulder or hand held). This Hermes Bikin Shoulder Bag comes with the Hermes orange gift / storage box, Hermes orange sleeper, Hermes gift carrier bag and ribbon.

Louis Vuitton Azur Damier

Bag Bliss the bag blog
Date Added: August 22, 2006

Louis Vuitton | Damier Collection | Price Range (roughly) $150 – $1900
This refreshing twist of the Damier Collection is set to debut from the House of Louis Vuitton in November 2006. The new collection is called the Azur, a color combo of light soft shades of blue in the same checked pattern as the retro (not as popular as the monogram LV) Damier collection.

FYI: My sources tell me that this Louis Vuitton Damier Azur Collection is going to be a permanent member, however the Cabas Plage GM and PM are “one-shot” from November 2006 through July 2007, with the total order units to be approximately 500.

Louis Vuitton | Damier Collection | Speedy 30
Price range for the current Damier line ranges from $590 to $1,740 for handbags and $150 to $560 for small leather goods. The Louis Vuitton Damier (and the Monogram Canvas Line) Speedy 25 retails for $595 and the Speedy 30 (pictured above) cost $620.

Brief little history on Louis Vuitton and the Damier Collection. Back in the late 1800′s when Louis Vuitton was only in the business of producing luggage (for the rich). The Damier Canvas pattern which is made up of is a checkerboard of light and dark brown boxes had its debut in 1888. Then Louis Vuitton continued advancing (and trying to make it more difficult for counterfeiters to replicate his designs) and in 1896, Louis Vuitton crafted now known as the classic line, the Monogram Canvas, that is also an icon for the Louis Vuitton brand today. The Monogram Canvas is the most popular selling canvas to this day.

Personally I am not a fan of the Louis Vuitton Damier collection in the dark brown check, the lighter color scheme of the Damier Azur collection is more of my style. I can’t like without that leather trim that turns the lovely dark golden honey over time.

If you are dying to get your hands on either of the Louis Vuitton Damier collection then ebrowse over at eluxury, the only authorized seller for Louis Vuitton goods. The Azur collection isnt up yet until November, but you can still get your hands on the classic Damier.
