The inspiration behind the Judith Leiber crystal evening bags sparked when Mrs. Leiber ordered a gift for a friend via mail. By the time she received the gift (a polished metal box) it had scratches all over the body. < This is where it all began > Mrs. Leiber got out her craft box and creatively covered the entire box with gorgeous crystals. 40 years the same techniques are still being used.

The evening clutch pictured above is the Judith Leiber Minaudiere Crystal Clutch. The clutch is decorated with a dark green, brown, tan and white alligator pattern with tonal allover Austrian crystals. Retail price $2,895

Lindsay Lohan’s designer bag has been identified (pictured below)! Really I had no idea whatsoever who the designer was, well that was until an awesome member in the forum identified it as Pauric Sweeney’s python handbag. Oh so lovely!

Via BrownsFashion.com you can spot Pauric Sweeney Python handbag with the retail price of $2,137.50. Exterior: Decorated in deep chocolate brown snakeskin with whipstitch woven edge shoulder handles and ornamented with a tassel hangs from the handle with silver cubes on the end. Interior: A brown and black check rests on a white background interior lining. There is a one zip pocket along with two other open pockets for easy compartment accessibility.

The bag pictured above is the same python purse that Lindsay was spotted with, only difference being the size.

1976 through 1991 Louis Vuitton gave special permission to “The French Company” to manufactured bags under a special license for them to produce accessories ornamented with the iconic “LV” symbol. They (TFC) are still producing handbags today that resemble the shape of some of the Louis Vuitton handbags, such as the speedy and some luggage bags, however they don’t use the “LV” symbol anymore and their bags aren’t even close to the exclusive price range of Louis Vuitton.

If you are shopping for a Vintage Louis Vuitton handbag, here are some tips. Remember that just because it says its vintage doesn’t mean that it is. Counterfeiters have been replicating Louis Vuitton items since the labels first trunk was produced back in the late 1800′s.

- No Date Code? Date Code is important for the new Louis Vuitton handbags but not so much for the older pieces. The vintage as well as the “French Company” prior to the early 1980′s will not have date codes.

- Darker treated Leather. The leather used on the vintage Louis Vuitton handbags was a darker treated carmel color leather, not the untreated vachetta leather with a patina that we know today.

- The strip across the bottom. The current Louis Vuitton Speedy handbags being produced have the “LV’s” upside down on one side. The French Company Speedy actually has a seam on the bottom, covered with a leather strip. The LVs on each side are “”rightside up.”

- If vintage and produced by the French Company, then it will be labeled so. The French Company handbags and luggage will have labeling that says that notifies the buyer that the item was made under a special license and that it was made in the USA. Most often, the tag is an almost paper-like tyvek tag sewn into a side seam of the bag.

- Zipper Pulls. The vintage Louis Vuitton handbags used Talon and Eclair zipper pulls.

- Vintage “French Company” pieces do not have a removable lock. The “French Company” used press-lock closures.

- Hardware. French Company Louis Vuitton hardware is quite different from the hardware used today. Today the hardware used on the Louis Vuitton handbags are mostly made of goldtone brass however, vintage pieces commonly used plated nickel. Also the Louis Vuitton name (as well as “LV” symbol) was not embossed on the zippers.

Counterfeit | Coach Handbags | Picture of the infamous designer inspired / replica infested Canal Street

Don’t get stuck with a fake Coach handbag! I am not an expert. I have never worked at Coach, but I use to own many (many-many-many) Coach handbags. Listed below are just a few basic tips and pointers that I have picked up on during my Coach Days:

- Sometimes it’s just too obvious. Make sure the double C’s line up. Note, it is not unheard of for the Mini Signature collection to be a little bit off centered.

- Pay attention to little details. Such as the quality of stitching, if it skips a beat then stay away. Also the seams of the bag and interior authenticity tag should not be glued on but rather neatly stitched on.

- Other minor details include the YKK zipper.

- The bag should look neat and sturdy, not slouching to one side or lopsided. This is caused by either uneven lousy stitching or not quality material that’s to thin. Coach uses leather or suede trim, not pleather or shiny plastic.

- When eBaying, do not trust sellers who have blurry or low quality photos and blame it on their camera. Or sellers that use stock only photos and refuse to send more pics of the actual item.

- The tag of authenticity. Most of the Coach handbags have a serial number stamped on the authenticity tag inside the bag. Not all bags, but most, some of the smaller items do not have this serial number.

- If it looks like the bag is a mutant offspring from Fendi and Coach, then its fake-fake-fake. There is no such thing as a Limited Edition Coach Signature Fendi Spy Bag.

- Double ‘G’ instead of double ‘C’ – eeeeh < *buzzing sound* > Wrong! Coach only uses the signature ‘C’. Guess stole the idea (I mean borrowed) it for their signature line.

- Made in the U.S.A? You betcha (back in the day). Up until 2002 about 75% of coach handbags were manufactured in the US. Now, most are assembled in China.

- POP! (place of purchase!) eBay sellers, where did they get it? Stay away if from: A fine boutique on Canal Street, Grade A Authentic Coach Manufacturer, purse party, forgot where or when, a sweet old foreign man selling them on the corner because he wants to bring the product to you, etc. – I have heard it all.

This is a little guessing game. . . .
What celebrity is always photographed with a chanel handbag? So often that you wonder if she owns any other designer bag besides Chanel (she does).

When asked by a reporter (Cron.com) “How many Chanel bags do you have?” Her response was “I probably have 15 or 20. It’s not ridiculous. I probably get a bag every season from them (‘them’ – when she was cast member of a certain show) and then I buy the ones that I really want.”
