Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring Outfit Under $1k
It has been so amazing outside the last couple days. It’s crazy. I feel like it’s already summer. So naturally, I’m in the mood to toss out my winter wardrobe and get my summer shopping on. Above is the perfect outfit.

When I first discovered this outfit in the spring 2007 catalog, I fell in love with the simple look and minimal price tag. It’s casual, not dressy at all and would make a fab outfit on a nice spring day. Also the price is totally amazing – the whole outfit together retails for under $1k – oh you can’t get much better then that from Marc Jacobs.

> Marc by Marc Jacobs Thatched Print Silk Dress is oh so simple but fun! This 100% silk Twilight Navy colored dress features a band collar with split neckline, puffy short sleeves, two front slit pockets, and a pleated-style low-waist solid print skirt. Retail: $438

> Marc by Marc Jacobs Laminated Marc Fast Bag, you will be mine! This mini duffle style bag is created with a vinyl-coated logo canvas with scrambled “MARC JACOBS” letters, with woven canvas striped handles and a removable shoulder strap with clasps. Interior is lined with a floral print and decorated with a leather-trimmed zip pocket, cell phone pocket, and pouch pocket. Measurements: 13.5″ x 7.5″ x 10.5″. Price: $238.

> Marc by Marc Jacobs Cotton Wraparound Wedge Sandals are definitely the eye-catching gem of the outfit. The MJ open toe woven cotton twist sandals feature a crisscross ballerina-style ankle strap. Measurements: 4.25″ heel with 1″ platform.

L.A.M.B. Montego Tote
This bag is overpopulating Emerald City! It’s an infestation. I swear every block I turn there is somebody strolling down the streets with the L.A.M.B. Montego Tote on arm. I mean it’s not ugly or anything. It’s just soon as this bag hit store shelves at Nordy’s it seems like everyone and their friend’s mom snatched one up.

Designed by pop-singer Gwen Stefani, the L.A.M.B. (Love.Angel.Music.Baby.) Montego Tote is dressed with a coated logo canvas, trimmed with grained leather, accented with polished golden hardware and topped off with a striped belt that races down the front and back that clamps shut with square double-L buckle. The interior is lined with the striped logo canvas lining with a leather-trimmed zip pocket, a few pouch pockets, and small flap pocket with snap closure. Measurements: 14″ x 13″ x 6″. Price: $550

Designer Straw Beach Baskets for all Budgets
Here are a few Straw Beach Baskets that all share similar characteristics but differ greatly in price:

> Merona Large Straw Tote – On the super cheap-cheap side of the spectrum, it’s this Merona Target brand shoulder bag. This bag is made of woven corn husk that have been dried then dyed which gives it a yellowish tint. The bag also features synthetic-leather (plastic) trim and a tab flap over closure. Measurements: 20â€? length x 12â€? width x 6â€? depth.

I wouldn’t call this bag cheap-looking but rather not quality. I honestly doubt it will last you the whole summer, but hey that’s what $20 will get you.

> Michael Kors ‘Santorini Large’ Shopper – Priced in the middle ground, it’s the Santorini tagged in the $300 range. This roomy beach-chic tote features leather straps, gold hardware trim and topped off with the signature Michael Kors flap over buckle. Measurements: 14″ width x 10″ height x 6″ depth.

In my opinion, out of the bags above this bag comes in at the best deal. It’s a struggle to find a good beach bag, and I wouldn’t want a bag that would fall apart before the summer is over (talking to you Merona). But maybe that’s just me.. I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity.

> Limited Edition Coach Jasmine Tote – And finally on the higher-priced side of the spectrum, it’s the Coach basket, that retails for a whopping (for Coach) $998. The bag is dressed in hand-woven straw, trimmed with bright orange leather and snakeskin trim and features the Fragrance fabric lining. Measurements: 24â€? length x 13.5â€? height x 10.5â€? width. There are other bags in the new Coach Straw line that retail for slightly less.

Celebrities and their Jimmy Choo Foldover Clutch
First it was Victoria Beckham photographed all over LA and on a recent trip to England with the new Jimmy Choo Foldover Clutch, now it appears that Naomi Watts jumped on the purse-train and got her hands on this little stunner.

The Jimmy Choo Foldover is newbie on the store shelves. Its leather body is designed with a zip top closure that flaps down and snaps shut with a secure magnet for extra security. Other features include the detachable wrist strap, suede interior, and an exterior easy access zip pocket. Measurements: 9.5″ height x 13″ length x 2″ width. Price: $1,250. At this moment Saks.com only has the color black in stock, but hopefully in the near future they will get other colors in stock. For example, the Mave Blue! The black one is lovely, but have you seen this bag in the electric blue Mave color? Oh it is to kill die for!

Also in other purse news, fibre2fashion reports that the Ferg (Stacy Ferguson) has signed a deal with Kipling North America to design two new handbag collections for fall 2007 and continuing through the summer of 2008. (why am I not jumping for joy )
