Borrow or Steal Tory Burch Handbags

April 24, 2007

Borrow or Steal Tory Burch Handbags
If borrowing handbags is your style then I have some news for you… Tory Burch is now available at Bag Borrow or Steal. Since that designer is new to virtual shelves of BBS they don’t have a huge stock in – you will be very limited in your choices. Right now they have 3 high glossed patent totes (blue, red or black) decorated with the big perforated logo and a simple beach-looking black and white chain pinstriped tote.

I guess I never really understood what people see in this Bag Borrow or Steal program. I don’t get why someone would put $20 to $175 towards an item that they don’t get to keep. For instance this bag pictured above is part of the Bag Borrow or Steals “Princess? collection, which means to get this tote in your hands you will find yourself paying $40 per month ($60 if not a member). Now is that really a smart move when this Tory Burch bag is currently going for around $300 on ebay? I don’t think so.

Hot Newbie Purse Alert: The Dooney & Bourke Jumbo Handbags

Hot Newbie Purse Alert: The Dooney & Bourke Jumbo Handbags

Dear 20+ year olds – Finally DB has heard your call to put a hold on producing teen-targeted kiddy bags that feature cartoon drawings (for this line that is).

It seems like nowadays whenever Dooney & Bourke releases a new line it’s either a hit or a miss with me. It wasn’t too distant in the past that DB shocked all of their beloved (20+) fans with the introduction of the cartoon Bumble Bee Line, the sausage looking Emma Robert Bag, the cluttered Candy Handbag Line, the western Safari Purses, the painted fur Zebra collection, oh and not to forget the ice cream Ice Pop Line. I don’t know about you guys, but a couple of those lines (erm, most of those) I would not stroll down the street with even if you gave me a new purse.

So all cartoon images aside, DB listened and made this new designer purse line for you. Featuring the Jumbo signature on the canvas body, this bag is offered in the color black, blue jean, ivory, or light red. The Dooney & Bourke Jumbo Handbags are available in three sizes – Small (11.25″length x 4″width x 8.75″height) retails for $235, Medium (14.25″length x 5″width x 11.5″height) retails for $265, and the Large (16.75″length x 6.25″width x 12.5″height).

Let me here your opinions? Hit or Miss? What do you guys think of the new tamed down design for the new Jumbo Logo Dooney Bag?

Botkier Bianca Bella Convertible Clutch

Botkier Bianca Bella Convertible Clutch

Botkier Bianca Bella Convertible Clutch

Stopped by the mall a couple days ago on my way out of town to check out the newbies to hit the store shelves at Nordy’s, and out of all the bags the only one that I wanted to sink my claws into was the new Botkier Bianca Bella Convertible Clutch. The beauty that I was looking at was the textured snakeskin embossed grey cowhide version. Dressed in a luxe soft italian lambskin fabric, accessorized with solid brass hardware, and topped off with my favorite feature the adjustable strap that converts your bag from hand held (day) to wristlet (night). This Botkier Bianca Bella clutch also features two round front zip pockets for cell phone/keys, main zip compartment along with two hidden compartments, one with additional zip pocket. Lined in suede with custom hardware, large zippers, turn lock and exterior logo plate. Piping details on flaps and handles. Price $445

Feeding an Addiction: Designer Handbags

April 20, 2007

Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Marilyn
It was a tough decision, but I decided to go with the Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Marilyn. I was having a tough time deciding between Louis Vuitton’s two spring 2007 Multicolore newbies – The Ursula (giant drawstring) and The Marilyn. After weighing the likes and dislikes of the two bags and a few chants of “eni meeni mini mo and of course getting the beautiful people of TheBagForum to help me out, I came to a decision – Marilyn.

At least with the Marilyn, on some occasions I can get away with wearing it not only as a daytime handbag, but also the small style of it makes it perfect for those few casual nights out, unlike the gigantic Ursula.

So now I wait, and apparently its going to be a long while until my new child gets here…. Since I’m going to be on a mini-vacation this weekend I figured rather than express it over, I would just do the standard shipping so by the time I get back home it will be here. That would have been sweet. But no, I totally forgot that eluxury has a 2 day processing time before they send out the order, so it turns out I won’t have my new child until mid-next week. Bummer. So to satisfy my current craving for a new purse I went shopping and snatched up a couple newbies.

Frisky and the Michael Kors Yacht Club Tote
Welcome to the family! I have such a big Michael Kors collection, but sadly they never, and mean never, make it out of the dust bags. (I better wear this one). I’ve even resisted a couple bags in the past for that reason. I want to cut back on my MK overload and stock up on other designers. Well, after this bag that is :) It’s the Yacht Club large shopper in a lovely creamy colored beige with gold hardware. It’s pretty roomy too, which is a huge plus for me because I like to carry everything essential to living with me in my bag. As you can see above it’s the perfect size for stuffing a large sized female cat in – reappearance of eBelle5’s Supermodel Kitty Frisky aka Mr. Kitters (really a female cat but for some reason I keep masculinizing her name and nicknames – out of habit I guess).

Me and the Hobo International Platinum Tote
Oh my gosh. I never honestly thought I would ever, and I mean ever, purchase a Hobo International handbag! Isn’t the name is just awful sounding? HOBO (hoe-bow).

I fell in love and realized the potential for this mediocre label bag when one of my friends casually pulled a Champaign bottle out of it. She had it in there sitting upright for a good part of the night without anyone noticing, or without making the bag tilt at all. I’m sure that’s not what the creators of this bag had in mind, but I was sold. I mean if it can fit that along with her other stuff in there while still resting comfortably on her shoulder then this is a bag for me.

I went to Nordy’s (home to hobo international) with the intentions of getting this bag in the black leather. Well, then I saw the metallic line of these bags and I quickly changed my mind. I grabbed the Platinum and Shimmery Light Blue then stood there for like 10 minutes trying to decide between the two. I was about to just get both, but then I resisted the temptation and went with the Platinum. The only thing I don’t like about the bag is ugly peach interior (I hate that color), but I don’t think I will be flashing very many people with my purse interior, so I wont complain that much.

What I love about this bag is the gigantic size. It’s exactly what I need for this weekend as a personal travel bag to stuff my laptop, magazines, snacks, cosmetic case, sweater, purse, etc in. I also love the fact that this bag has studded feet. Which means I can abuse it without feeling guilty – you know chuck it, drop it, toss it on the floor without being worried of ripping or scrapping the bottom.

Overall I’m temporarily satisfied with this purchase. Mostly for the fact that the cost of this bag rings in on the low side of the designer handbag price-spectrum, and I’m sure I will use it a lot this summer as carry-on travel companion.
