Rihanna’s Umbrella Collection

July 26, 2007

Rihanna’s Umbrella Collection
Singer of the hit under my “Umbrellaâ€? song, Miss Rihanna, is set to launch her own line of brollies. Apparently what made the idea click (according to her fan site) was that “whenever the track played it inspired UK club-goers to raise their own umbrellas.â€? Interesting. Must be a pretty small club or tiny umbrellas, and one big liability or bad luck. No?

The singer teamed up with clothing company Totes to bring out her collection. Right now on the Totes site there are only a few left (of the 5 variations), which range in price from $16 to $50. The cheapest one is the (a) Rihanna Signature Slender ‘brella – retails for $20 $14.99. The middle ground is the (b) Satin Stick Umbrella – retails $25. And the most expensive is the (c) Rihanna 2 Color Satin Stick Umbrella (same one used for her MTV Movie award performance) – $50

If you live in a rainy city and want to get your hands on one of these umbrellas then click here.

The Dolce & Gabbana Transparent Patent Convertible Bag

The Dolce & Gabbana Transparent Patent Convertible Bag
Went shopping today to score some sweet designer deals at Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Party and while there I discovered the Dolce & Gabbana Transparent Patent Convertible Bag. Not in the designers section where it should be, but hanging out in the markdown corner, where it sat with a price tag of only $500 (!). I’m telling you guys, not all good deals are found on the web. This bag for example currently retails for $1,725 at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus – wierddddd.

Anyway I resisted. I’m just not in with letting everyone see the contents of my bags guts. Don’t get me wrong I totally love the shape and style but I’m not feeling the clear pvc. Maybe if D&G produced like a super cool looking changeable lining, then totally yeah I would go for it.

Kim Kardashian: Give Up Your Chloe Purse
Recently spotted out-and-about at the Chelsea Football Club’s Party in Hollywood, it’s the brunette-beauty Kim Kardashian. Bag for the occasion, well of course it’s her well-used Designer Chloe Purse, which by the way I have been stalking her eBay Page for in the hopes that she will decide to part with it and move on. And when she does, guess who the top bidder will be if she would decide to put it up for grabs? Uhhu, yep, it will be mine. Someday…

Introducing: The Burberry Knight Bag

July 25, 2007

Introducing: The Burberry Knight Bag
Fresh off the lot from Burberry, and it’s not dressed in the traditional check-print but rather an army of pyramid-shaped studs – Introducing the Knight Bag. Seems like now-a-days when people think Burberry they think check, Louis Vuitton they think of the monogram, Coach the double C’s, Dooney the DB, and so on. I for one am on a monogram-signature-ban. I’m resisting to purchase anything with the signature plastered across the body of the bag (hah, lets see how long that lasts).

This Knight-newbie for Fall is a little bit pricier than the traditional Burberry bag, but I think it’s worth every penny. The suit of the armor bag is dressed in black leather with metal pyramid studded nickel hardware detailing. The mouth of the bag features a double zip top closure that slides open to reveal the black satin lining.

Gwen at War with Forever21

July 24, 2007

Gwen at War with Forever21
Looks like Diane Von Furstenberg isn’t the only one taking a bite out of inexpensive-trendy fashion company Forever 21. Apparently the singer / fashion designer Gwen Stefani is currently at war with F21 for trademark infringement of her Harajuku Lovers fashion line, in particular, the handbags.

Papers filed in Los Angeles Federal Court claim Forever 21 is marketing, promoting and selling products featuring a design “virtually indistinguishable” from Harajuku’s signature heart & box logo. The lawsuit claims Forever 21 “changed a couple of words, ‘Harajuku’ to ‘Forever’ and ‘Lovers’ to ‘Love’, in the Heart Box trademark which are inconspicuous and likely to go unnoticed by a consumer”.

Well I am not surprised. Have you been in Forever21? All of their clothes, handbags and shoes are designer inspired. Well that can be said for a lot of other similar companies…
