LAMB Signature Hopewell Tote
Oh my dear Gwen, what have you done now? The Signature Hopewell Tote is a excellent example of the classic LAMB style. The signature print fabric, the stripe down the front, the little square buckle… yep, its a LAMB bag alright. But what is up with the lime green? And the ombre-style fading? And, on top of all that, the signature print?! Hmm…

So what can I say about this bag? I suppose the lime green does look alright (especially with that navy blue trim). The tote is roomy, with an expandable gusset. The rolled handles and easy-access snap opening are pluses as well. So why can’t I seem to love this bag? Is it the color? Or perhaps the color itself isn’t the problem… perhaps it is the fact that they paired the ombre with the signature pattern. No wait, I’ve got it! I think what this bag needs is to be made of patent leather rather than the printed fabric. Oh wouldn’t that look lovely? Lime green patent leather with the gradual fading going from top to bottom. What do you all think?

The LAMB Signature Hopewell Tote features:
* Double handles with 6″ drop
* Magnetic closure top
* Interior zippered pocket
* Two interior slip pockets
* Interior snap-closure pocket
* Measures 16″ x 9″ x 6″
* Retails for $525

Sneak Peak: Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 Purse Collection
I’m not really sure what compelled me to visit the official Marc Jacobs website the other day. Perhaps I was bored or perhaps I was looking for something — I honestly can’t remember the reason for my visit. But you know what? I’m really glad I went! Why? Well, it just so happens that the new collection for Fall 2008 has already been posted! Well… at least the images have been posted. It looks like things are still under construction since there are no names or descriptions to go with these bags. I guess this is to be expected. I mean, it is April after all. Fall isn’t exactly right around the corner at the moment. Actually, I’m curious as to why they have these bags posted on the website so early. Oh well!

So what we have pictured above is simply a sampling of the new bags that will soon be available (The number of bags pictured on the website for Fall 2008 is staggering. The ones I have pictured above is just scratching the surface). Some are gorgeous, of course. I mean, what else would you expect from good ol’ Marc? However, there are also a few… um… interesting looking bags that have also wormed their way into the world of Marc Jacobs. Here’s what we have:

1. A black and tan leather satchel that can be worn either on the arm or the shoulder. It has a flap closure and a push-lock. Not really sure what is up with that chain though.

2. A dark, eggplant colored tote. It is a mix of quilted and plain leather. It also appears to have an exterior zip-around pocket and a double shoulder strap. Love the yummy color!

3. A Stam-style bag in purple ostrich. Not sure whether it is embossed or genuine. Can be carried on the arm or on the shoulder with the chain strap. Isn’t this one gorgeous?

4. A smaller shoulder bag in brown and tan leather. It has a flap closure and what appears to be a metal flower decoration. It also looks like the strap might be adjustable. Cute!

5. A brown leather tote with a tone-on-tone strip on the front. It looks like it has a zippered top and a pocket on the outside. Looks like it would be great for work!

6. A bubblegum pink ostrich shoulder bag… with a car on it? It has a flap closure and what appears to be an adjustable strap. Hmmm…

Sorry girls! These bags are so new that there are no measurements or prices available yet, otherwise I would definitely let you know!

You can view the entire collection over at the official Marc Jacobs website: marc jacobs

And watch for these bags to appear over at eluxury or SAKS. I’m sure that once these bags become available, you will be able to score one of them there!

Louis Vuitton Palermo PM Bag

Louis Vuitton Palermo PM Bag
Louis Vuitton Palermo PM Bag
Recently, I was able to make my way over to NYC, and to Louis Vuitton of course. Within the bag choices that I was finally able to come down to, the Palermo PM was one that I was leaning towards. I loved how functional it is – wear it as a handbag or easily throw it over your shoulder with the detachable strap. Also, I was looking for a larger bag that didn’t look like luggage for trips and times when I need to carry more. So this one was at the top of my list of options.

When I was finally able to see the bag, it wasn’t as appealing to me as it was from seeing it online. To start, I thought the pleat in the front was cute and all, but I wasn’t exactly sure if it would disqualify the bag from joining the rest of the LV classics later on down the road. What can I say? I’m a sucker for anything classic, so I’ve recently learned. The next thing that bothered me was the extremely wide bottom. It looked odd when I tried it on because the bottom just stuck out, making it feel too structured or something. Also, the fact that the canvas on the bag seemed stiff compared to other LV bags didn’t exactly add any comfort or flow. So overall, I wasn’t as impressed with the Palermo as I expected to be. I mean, yeah, it’s definitely functional and it is easier to maintain because there is no vachetta bottom.

Designer Purse Looks for Less!

Designer Purse Looks for Less!
Designer Purse Looks for Less!
While we all desire designer handbags, we can’t always afford their hefty price tag. In those occasions, we must put our couture yearnings on hold and find a more realistic solution to our handbag cravings. Lucky enough, many mall stores and brands offer cute and trendy bags at prices that anyone can afford. Many of the bags are even designer inspired.

The first picture on the upper left features cute, colorful, and mod-inspired bags from Newport-news.com. They are the framed contrast bag and feature a patent trim and decorative buckle. This bag retails at a low $69 and gives you a great designer look.

The second picture on the upper right features the Uniquely Yours Croc Tote from Ninewest.com. This croc embossed patent tote retails at a very fair $89 and gives you the chic look of other designer crocodile print bags.

The third picture on the bottom left features the Studded Polkadot Tote from Forever21.com. It contains a faux leather trim and polished metal studs and retails at a low $26.80. This bag is so trendy and cute and really embraces the season’s biggest trends.

The last picture features the Xhilaration Quilted Satchel bag in yellow. Yellow bags are one of the biggest trends of the summer and you can get your very own for only $19.99 at Target.com. This bag has a quilted texture similar to the quilted look of many of our favorite designer handbags.

While these bags may not last you a lifetime, their low price tags make you feel no remorse after tossing them out at the end of the season. They are stylish bags that get you the designer look you want without the designer price tag.
