Celebrate Earth Day with these Eco-Friendly Bags!
Happy Earth Day everyone. In celebration of this day, of course I thought it would be suiting to put up a post of a couple stylish earth friendly bags.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Hippy Miss Marc & Penguin
I just spotted these on the Marc Jacobs official website. There the latest Fall 2008 bags from the designer’s second, less-expensive (than his main line) Marc by Marc Jacobs line. Look like Miss Marc has transformed once again to an eco-loving hippy. Very cool. Plus look at that penguin tote, how cute is that? None of the proceeds from these bags go to any organization, but it sure gets the message out – in a fashionable and adorable way.

Juicy Couture California “Go Green� Bag
BagBliss blogger Deysa said this about the this Juicy Couture tote: Do you want a bag that literally makes a statement? If so, look what I discovered via Saks Fifth Avenue’s website, a new design to the California canvas totes by Juicy Couture. This California Go Green Canvas Bag is a roomy tote that displays the words “GO GREEN� throughout the front of the bag. Arrows forming a “recycle� heart can be found on the tote’s opposite end. The tote’s message is self-explanatory, basically this bags significance is to make a change and to do it in style! Now I’m not going to ramble on and on about the advantages of going green, but I do feel that the whole recycling and reduction of daily materials concept, does have an importance when it comes to changing simple habits for the good will of Mother Earth.

On this tote, you can find a full canvas body made of recycled organic compounds. It’s printed (green) interior reads “Juicy Couture� and the brands Yorkie pups can also be found on the totes front end corner. If you’re in search of a grocery shopping bag, a travel or book bag that isn’t going to hurt your pockets, why not this one? It’s durable, cute and only 75 bucks!

How much will this RR&R tote set you back? Not much. Each organic raw-cotton canvas tote retails for $44. It features a couple easy access, snap-patch pockets on all sides, spacious interior ideal for a market sack or beach tote, and a couple snap closure pockets in the interior.

Plastic Bag Facts:
- Each year, an estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide. That comes out to over one million per minute. Billions end up as litter each year.

Thankyoulady Tote which is also made with organic-cotton canvas and detailed with girl graciously picking up a plastic bag graphic.

These bags would make a great shopping tote in replace of those plastic bags. Plus they only retail for only $38 a pop.

Gossip Girl Fashion
Gossip Girl is one of the hottest new shows on TV. It could be because it is full of young, hot, rich New York City kids. It could also be because they have one of the hottest most chic wardrobes on TV. These kids turn a normal school girl outfit into a runway hit. These aren’t your average teenagers. Instead of Wet Seal and Forever 21 these kids go to school in Chanel, Dior, and Burberry.

The first picture features Blake Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen, in a chic outfit and the Burberry Warrior Bag. This leather shoulder bag features a dark silver stud design. It is one of the hottest bags of the season, and as Blake Lively has proven, looks great when walking down the streets of New York City. You can find this bag on NeimanMarcus.com for $3,195.00.

In the second picture, Taylor Momsen, who plays Jenny Humphrey, is wearing her ever-so-fashionable school girl outfit, accessorized with the Valentino Maison Studded Bag. Now, not all teens may be able to afford Burberry, Valentino, and Ferragamo, so we’ll just stick with admiring the chic bags on Gossip Girl.

Gustto Crochetta Bag
Its got pleats… its got croco-embossing… its got studs… and its got a double shoulder strap. What is this beautiful bag I see? A bag so perfect. A bag composed of all a girl’s favorite features. Why its the Gustto Crochetta Bag, of course! And you know what the best part is? This bag is available in two gorgeous colors: Yellow and Ink!

Leave it to Agathe Planchon to design such a glorious bag. She loves designing things that are different from the norm. And she always seems to do it so well too! Now I’m definitely not a person who likes big bags (everyone over at TBF will definitely tell you!). But just because I don’t like big bags for myself doesn’t mean I can’t admire the beauty that can be found in any size. I like this bag because it is so unique and eye-catching. The texture is amazing and the pleats give the bag’s simple shape some interest. I just can’t stop looking at this bag… but then again, it could also be that delicious yellow color that has me hooked! Oh and the leather! That wonderful, wonderful leather! If you’ve never picked up a Gustto bag and felt how good they feel, then I definitely suggest you put that on your To-Do list!

Marc Jacobs Monica Mink & Python Clutch
Have you ladies seen this clutch before? It’s called the Monica Mink/Python Clutch designed by Marc Jacobs. As stated in its name, the Monica Clutch is made up of Mink fur and Python pieces. (Now those are two creatures that wouldn’t normally run into each other). When I hear the words Mink and Python, I tend to think “expensive�, right? Well together, this clutch definitely is! With a retail price of $2,950, it sure is pricey for such a small piece. If you’re interested in the Monica, head on over to the SALE section at SaksFifthAvenue and find this Marc Jacobs on sale for $2,064.90!

The Monica Clutch isn’t really a spring/summer bag (not even close), but it is a true high-maintenance designer piece. What do you ladies think about the Monica Clutch? Either you see this piece as exquisite and extremely luxurious, or you find this clutch a perfect fit for a barbarian. Personally, I dislike it. I feel that it’s a bit too much for my taste. Sure this clutch gives off a grand luxurious vibe, but I just can’t justify myself carrying both mink and python on the same clutch.

BCBG Maxazria Hilary Update Tote
Having a looooooong day? How about a looooooong tote to go with that looooooong day? LOL! While browsing over at the Saks Fifth Avenue website, I stumbled across this rather interesting looking tote. It’s called the Hilary Update Tote from BCBG Maxazria. See that thing that looks like a gigantic metal flower? That is actually a very large turnlock!

So what can I say about this unique design from BCBG Maxazria? Well, I like the clean lines and their intriguing idea for a turnlock. I love the mustard yellow color! I have actually been craving a bag in a nice mustard yellow color (I just can’t get with that bright yellow trend). And the pockets! I like bags that have easy-access exterior pockets.

Now that we have all the good stuff out of the way, let’s look at the bad. Why on earth is this bag so freakishly tall? I guess tall isn’t a bad thing in itself, but when you pair it with skinny it just looks weird to me. What happens if I were to drop something small down in the bottom of this bag? I’m not sure if my arm would be long enough to reach it! LOL! And since its so narrow, I can’t see it being very practical in carrying work-related necessities. Hmm… somehow I think this bag would be great for carrying a couple of bottles of wine. Picnic anyone?
