Emmy Award-winning actress, television personality and talk show host Kelly Ripa has teamed up with Electrolux, a new line of premium appliances from Europe’s leading premium appliance brand, to help fight ovarian cancer.

As part of its commintement to raise more than $500,000 for The Ovarian Cancer Fund (OCRF) over the next two years, Elecrtolux is auctioning off several of the actual handbags used in “Kelly’s Bags,� a fun, first-of-its-kind online game that captured the imaginations of tens of thousands of women this Spring while helping to raise funds for OCRF.

The mission of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is to fund research to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer.

Chloe Bay Purple Patent Hobo Bag
What really caught my attention on the new Bay Hobo bag in patent leather was the gorgeous and shiny shade of violet. I’ve been wanting to own a purple handbag lately and this one definitely hit the spot. The color is perfect. And I especially love the purple and patent leather combo. Now only if I could quickly come up with $1,760…

I think this is one of those bags that could be worn year round, which is a plus if you’re spending that kind of money. But I do think this bag would be especially hot for the upcoming fall months that will arrive after summer. Not only is the color appealing but the hobo shape, double strap that can be thrown over the shoulder, and other details make this such a great bag. For example, I love the contrast of the gold harware to the purple because it adds a richness to the purse. Also, the giant leather zipper pulls on the front pocket are a fun detail. The magnetic closure is great because you can easily pop it open to grab what you need, and your belongings will still be secured. Overall, this is a beautiful bag that would be a great addition to any handbag collection.

Fergie’s Handbag Line for Kipling
Fergie is definitely one of the more stylish stars. Her look is unique, distinct, funky, fun, and never boring. Although, I have seen her make many fashion blunders, she has come to proven herself over the years. She may have even found her was as a fashionista, depending on who you ask. Her outfits are always very colorful and vibrant. Fergie has now branched over from just carrying around hot handbags, to designing handbags of her own for Kipling. The latest, Spring ’08 line of bags really represent Fergie’s fashion sense. They are loud, colorful, funky, and really stand out. They feature bright colors, different shapes and fergie type objects like dominoes. The bags range in price from $38 for a cosmetic bag to $158 for a large tote.

Now, I’m not a huge fan of these bags. I don’t hate them either. I think they are pretty cute. The price is pretty fair. They are big and roomy and good everyday, casual bags. What do you guys think? Do you think these bags are fergalicious? (sorry, corny I know, but I had to say it).

Wow. This is so tragic. Meet the (not a Louis Vuitton) Doggie Bag – This one is created by artist Meryl Smith for the Honey Space Gallery in New York. She made it using leather and papier-mache. And it sells for $3000!

Someone should expect a lawsuit coming their way…

It Made Elux’s 10 Most Wanted List: The Maison Martin Margiela Large Satin Sac Bag
I was browsing over at Elux the other day, only to discover a “10 Most Wanted” list located in the Buzz section. The picks for this list were chosen by Jen Ely (the buyer for women’s contemporary), Jenni Witt (the buyer for women’s designer), and Caroline Goodman (the buyer for men’s and beauty). Pictured above, we have one of Jenni Witt’s picks. Look familiar? It should! Martin Margiela, a former designer for Paul Jean Paul Gaultier and Hermés, is known for his simple designs. This particular bag is just a simple sack made of satin. And yet this simple design and delicate fabric are the reason behind the gorgeous gathers seen in this bag. The bag is elegant like an evening bag, but large enough to carry around your kitchen sink! Don’t worry though, your keys will remain within reach thanks to the small zippered pouch suspended inside the bag.

Karl Lagarfeld was so inspired by an image of a gun that he had Chanel’s shoe designer Laurence Decade, who used plexi to make the “Miami Vice” shoe.

The shoes debuted last week and will be available in stores next month.
