De Couture Print Flap Over Bag
So is this a cool bag or what? As I ran into this newbie over at ShopJake (dot com), my first thought was, “how the heck do you wear it�? Meet the Print Flap Over Bag by De Couture. I normally tend to stay away from complicated structured handbags, but this one particular “weirdo�, truly caught my attention. This bag literally resembles a large folded silk scarf; its body is even made out of silk! You would think a large silk handbag (it measures 23� x 18� x 4�) would practically collapse when worn or put down, but it’s big secret in keeping its structure is its large patch of caramel leather found on its back. Neat huh?

Brown florals are printed along the silk body of this bag. I actually like the nature-ish theme; it’s not tacky, but rather artistic. Other features found on the Over Bag includes two straps which allow versatility when carrying. You can use its single flat caramel leather shoulder strap or try its gold plated chain, both can be found attached to the bags’ body.

How do you ladies feel about this bag? Personally, I dig it. It’s totally different and eye catching as well. I will note that this bag seems like such a high-maintenance bag when it comes to keeping it clean, other than that if you have the $1195, why not invest in something different?

And trust me –I have experienced many HL sales– you don’t want to be late. However, if you accidently hit the snooze and show up 5 min late only to see everything is on “HOLD”, check back.. sometimes in all the excitement people just shove them in their cart but then change their mind. Chloe Freja Clutch
When I came across the new Freja Clutch by designer Chloe, I was amazed at how different it was from most accessories of its kind. This clutch is definitely uniquely structured and not your average grab-and-go purse. And I will admit that even after closely scoping out the display pictures on Diabro.net, I’m still wondering exactly how this little handheld works. I’m actually pretty curious to try this newbie out. Though I don’t think I’d add this to my collection.

The Freja clutch is made from croc embossed calf leather and lambskin, and the one shown above is a lovely purple shade which is named Irena. It also comes in a very light blueish color called Glacial, which isn’t all that great in my opinion. I do love the exotic print and the color, but overall, I’m just not sure about this one, especially with a price tag of around $1400. I think it is way overpirced and also it doesn’t even seem that practical for the type of accessory it is. And this one isn’t appearing to be the most comfortable purse to carry around since it’s shape isn’t consistent. For me, I would rather buy a bag or two with that amount of money and pass on this little freak of couture!

wwd reports: Artist Richard Prince has yet another Louis Vuitton bag up his sleeve: a limited edition style to coincide with his first major U.K. solo exhibition this summer at the Serpentine Gallery in London.

The 50 ostrich and canvas Jamais bags — numbered and signed by the artist and featuring a smudged and freckled take on the house monogram — will be sold exclusively at Vuitton’s Sloane Street store in London during Prince’s solo “Continuation” show at the Serpentine June 26 to Sept. 7.

Madonna’s $471,000 Chanel Bag
Now we all love a good Chanel bag, but do you think you could you love one enough to pay $471,000 for it? Well that is how much somebody paid for Madonna’s Chanel bag at the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit when it was auctioned off. The bag features alligator leather and a clasp studded with 334 diamonds. It was the bag that Madonna carried to the benefit and included everything she carried in the bag including, Shu Uemura blotting paper and lip gloss, lip balm, a magnifying mirror, and throat lozenges.

Now I guess this bag has a lot to offer. First off, its simply a beautiful Chanel bag….alligator leather and a diamond clasp. That is definitely a one of a kind bag that not everyone can get. Secondly, this is Madonna’s bag! Madonna! The queen of pop! I mean owning anything of hers is pretty awesome, let alone a Chanel bag with all of her belongings in it. Lastly, the money went to benefiting an AIDS charity.

Now, not many of us could pay $471,000 for a Chanel bag, but I guess overall this was a pretty good buy that benefited a great cause. Go Madonna!

Juicy Couture MD Free Style Hobo Purse
What is it about Juicy Couture? For some reason Juicy handbags are either a really big hit or a really big miss. Gela and Pam never do seem to find a happy medium, do they? A bag with a cute pattern like the one found in Deysa’s post on the Juicy Couture Daisy Daydreamer Tote is one thing, but sometimes Juicy Bags can be outright gaudy. Pictured above we have an interesting looking bag from Juicy Couture. It’s called the MD Free Style Hobo. It’s constructed of soft and smooshy leather strips that are pieced together in a diagonal stripe pattern. Despite being labeled as a hobo bag, the style more resembles a belted shopper with its cinched top opening and fat bottom. The rolled handles with their 6.5″ drop look comfortable, but I’m not really sure what those “decorative” push-locks located on each side of the bag are supposed to be for. They really seem to distract from an otherwise decent appearance. Hmm… is there any way you could cut those off?

Oh well, at least the Juicy Couture MD Free Style Hobo is reasonably priced at $395. The bag comes in light sweet sage, taupe, or black. However, it is currently only available in the black over at the Eluxury and the (official) Juicy Couture websites.

Beau Soleil Denim Beau Bag
Happy Memorials Day, guys!!! So what Memorial Day plans do you Bagista’s have? Have you got a great outfit picked out too? What about your handbag? Are you going to bust out your patriotic red, white, and blue purse or are you going to keep your look casual, with a normal looking handbag?

I am one of those gals who does not own a patriotic handbag. Reasons being, I have yet to find a good looking one to call my own. Over at Shop Bop (dot com), I spotted one of my favorite eco-friendly handbag designs, totally redone! Meet the Denim Beau Bag by Beau Soleil. This organic tote bag sports a similar straightforward message as it’s previous did, “Reduce, Recycle, Renew America�!

Other alteration done on this newbie includes a faded (recycled) denim body, rather than an organic canvas body like it’s original design has. Red double roped shoulder straps are the perfect touch and compliment the denim perfectly. I think I’d like this bag a bit more if the denim were darker rather than light. Other than that, I think this bag is great. It’s message, and overall design are suitable (and patriotic) enough for my taste. Plus, the Denim Beau carries an awesome price tag of only $55!!!
