Fashion Designer Marc Jacobs loves his Murse!

While taking a break from Fashion Week to have lunch, Mr. Marc Jacobs met up with his boyfriend Lorenzo Martone at Pastis restaurant in New York City. Bag for the occasion? No not one that he designed, but rather the classic Birkin.

Marc Jacobs is pretty much the only man on this planet who can get away with wearing a handbag and a skirt.

It seems that all anyone ever talks about is IT bags. So what exactly makes an IT bag and IT bag? After doing a bit of research, it appears as though the term was coined in the 1990s. During this time, the handbag market was experiencing explosive growth. Designers needed to come up with a design that would allow them to stand out in this seemingly never-ending sea of handbags. Producing a design that would become an IT bag was like the holy grail of the handbag world. But oddly enough, we still don’t really know what makes an IT bag an IT bag. Sure an IT bag is something that everyone must own, but why is that exactly? There are a lot of different possibilities, but I don’t think we can place our finger on just one.

In my opinion, patent leather is absolutely gorgeous and when there is a clutch available in patent it makes it look that much more stunning. In a previous entry, I mentioned how zebra prints could possibly be making yet another comeback to the world of handbags. I guess artist turned fashion designer Gwen Stefani got the memo, just check out her latest Williamsfield Tote design. Oh the many designs the handy Williamsfield tote has been through, I’ve seen checkered, signature, even wild leopard print. So Zebra makes it to the list this season, and it’s not half bad. I actually like the overall appearance of the stripes as it carries a new look to the typical zebra-print bags. It’s as if the trend is there, but sort of in disguise. If you take a closer look at the coated canvas background, faded newspaper articles are imprinted on it. I wonder what the faded newspapers read, what reports could possibly be found lining your bag? More typical details found on this piece would be the blingy L.A.M.B logo plate, the striped lining, and the engraved squared studs. Ladies, what’s your say on this tote, and how do you feel about zebra print?

Exotic florals or bird tail feathers, what does this remind you of? The House of Prada never fails to add beautiful feminine details to its goods and accessories.

One of the many fine examples of this can be found on the Mordore Ruffle Shoulder Bag. Ruffles and pleats add even more character to their classic nappa leather hobo, but I can’t decide if I’d prefer the plain (no ruffles and pleats) instead. Yes the details are lovely, but does this look casual enough to carry everyday? Unfortunately, carrying this hobo as a shoulder bag, as it’s intended to be, will sadly cover the décor and character of the handbag, with your arm. I’m thinking a clutch sporting the same concept would be more beneficial to me.

You still can’t deny the fact that it’s made of metallic nappa leather, that the silver hardware of choice indeed compliments, and of course, it’s Prada!
