When I was little girl in grade school we were designer junkies. Of course, back then we thought the most famous designers were: Calvin Klein; Donna Karen; Ralph Lauren; and Tommy Hilfiger. Donna Karen was always one of my favorites because her jeans were absolutely amazing. I’ll always remember Donna Karen as being that not too expensive designer with fabulous goods, but Donna Karen has grown a lot since then and is much more expensive.

While browsing the Saks Fifth Avenue website, I came across an odd looking bag that I thought was ridiculously priced. The handbag reminded me of a scrunchy, and when I took a look at the designer I was shocked! The scrunchy looking handbag was by none other than Donna Karen.

The handbag I am referring to is called the Donna Karen Drawstring Shoulder Bag, and I’m not sure if this handbag is unique or a complete fashion error with a horrible price. Some features of the handbag include: a slouchy shape; deerskin leather; vertical drawstring; magnetic flap closure; and full canvas lining.

The Donna Karen Drawstring Shoulder Bag is currently available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,595. Yes, you read right, a Donna Karen bag that is a little on the weird side for $1,595. If I could of guessed a price for this bag, I would of said no more than $300. With the high price and awful shape, I’d say this is a handbag you should definitely pass on.

2-for-1′s are always the best deals, especially when it’s involving Italian fashion label Prada.

Found for just under $200 over at Saks Fifth Avenue, they have the Prada duo, consisting of a pair of apple green patent Flip Flops + a matching cosmetic bag.

Miss Marc is back! As if didn’t know that, right? But this time around, this adorable character is being offered as more than simply a tote bag. Introducing the Marc By Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Beach Combo Tote. It’s a clear PVC vinyl beach tote that comes with a beach towel, sun hat, and flip flops. This set has everything you need for a day of fun in the sun!

I think what I like best about this version of Miss Marc is the adorable outfit she is wearing. If you take a closer look, you’ll see that she is wearing sunglasses, a button-up shirt, and rainbow suspenders. And on her rainbow suspenders, Miss Marc is sporting a couple of buttons. One button has the cute face of a tiger on it, while the other button reads “Easy Tiger”. This theme is carried on into the sun hat where a little tiger appears on the brim. I think this set would make an awesome addition to anyone’s Miss Marc collection.

The Marc By Marc Jacobs Miss Marc Beach Combo Tote measures 19″ x 14″ x 8″ and it is currently just available in white (with purple towel and hat). Britney Spears was recently crowned the new spokeswoman of Candies handbags for this spring season, which is now sold exclusively at Kohls.com. Price range, an affordable $15-$20

Britney Spears has become the new spokeswoman for the Candie’s brand sold exclusively at Kohls. Candie’s seems to continuously attract some of Hollywood’s hottest young female stars. Past Candie’s spokeswomen have included Fergie, Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Duff, and Jenny McCarthy. The Candie’s brand offers a handbag line that features handbags of all different shapes, sizes, and colors and for all different occasions. You can find cute colorful clutches or faux leather hobo bags. They range in price from $15-$40. These bags may not offer the luxury and chicness of designer handbags…but at those prices what do you expect?

Britney’s deal with Candie’s and Kohls is in conjuction with her current US tour and will be playing a major part in her promotional activities. As a part of the deal Britney will be wearing Candie’s items, including handbags, in one of the music videos for a single off of her newest album “Circus.” Do you think Britney may start a penny saving trend with these Candie’s promotions? The brand certainly thinks there is a synergy between Candie’s and Britney’s fan base and if there was anytime to start a money saving trend it is certainly now during this economic downturn.

Any Versace fans out there? The House of Versace presents this extra-framed satchel this season and personally speaking, I’m undecided on whether I like this or not. New and available to you through Nordstrom’s, is the Frame Satchel (simple and to the point). I tend to stay away from beyond stiff handbags; reasons being I can’t justify carrying them as an everyday bag, plus any handbag with sag seems more comfortable, which I much rather prefer.

This piece comes loaded with numerous studs and zippers, and double 3” top handles that appear to be quite uncomfortable. Lucky buyer as a detachable shoulder strap is also included for your convenience. This gleaming framed top satchel is ready to dress up. Pair this accessory with casual dresses or office wear for a classy and sophisticated look. This measures in at 15” x 10” x 9”, and carries an extremely steep price tag of $3,995! I say that’s a bit too much to ask for as I would rather invest on something much more classic. Ladies, what’s your input on this satchel?
