Oh Daisy! When I visited Kohls today I was left in shock by your new remake of the popular, once referred to as the “Trash Bag” by Chanel. (The Trash Bag name was given by many in reference to the oversized unstructured high-gloss black patent vinyl version which debut back in Fall 2006).

Daisy isn’t the first (is it okay to refer to her as a designer?) to remake the design – Baby Phat, bebe, and forever21 are a few design brands that added the style to their collections. What’s the similarities? Not only is the oversize unstructured shape and cut of the bag identical, but check out the straps. Daisy replicated Chanel’s famous signature short chain hand-held straps.

She also has been spokeswoman for Revlon, American Express, Pantene, M&M’s, and Miller Lite. After all that was over, what’s next to add to the resume? Fashion designer..

Her recession-friendly priced clothing and accessory line are sold exclusively at Kohl’s Department Stores.

The Chat: Daisy Fuentes inspired-by Chanel

With the economy in the current shape that it is in, one can’t help but want to save money. And with so many stores having sales or websites hosting sample sales, how can a shopaholic possibly resist? But there is another way to save money that perhaps some people haven’t thought to consider… and that is buying pre-loved handbags and accessories. Why pre-loved? Well, for one, you can often find good deals on items that never go on sale (e.g. Louis Vuitton). You can also find discontinued styles and hard-to-find collector’s pieces. And the best part is, something only has to be used once or twice to be called “used”. This means that you have a pretty good chance of finding something that is practically new without the “new” price tag. Love it!

So where does one find a good selection of pre-loved handbags and accessories? Ebay was once a hot spot for used luxury items. Unfortunately, however, with all the fakes out there people have become wary of the things offered for sale in this virtual marketplace. This is such a shame because there are still trustworthy sellers out there that have wonderful deals to offer, the trick is learning how to spot them. And to set you off in the right direction, I would like to share will all you Bag Bliss readers out there some of my favorite ebay sellers.

1. Ebay Seller: bagteria
This seller usually has a good selection of authentic Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Balenciaga, and Chloe handbags. She also has a variety of Hermes scarves and accessories. I have purchased items from this seller before and, I must say, her customer service skills are excellent!

2. Ebay Seller: authentic_lvlady
This seller mainly deals in pre-loved Louis Vuitton handbags. She often has limited edition pieces, along with a wide variety of monogram canvas. Her prices seem pretty decent and I especially love the deals she has on Epi Leather items!

3. Ebay Seller: let-trade
This seller also mainly deals in pre-loved Louis Vuitton handbags and accessories. They offer a pretty good selection through their ebay listings, but an even larger selection can be found on their website. For every item that is up for sale, they provide clear and close up pictures of the item from every angle imaginable. I love that because you can see for yourself exactly what condition the item is in. From my experience, their customer service is pretty good and their shipping is extremely prompt.

Hot off the presses, the Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Collection is now available for pre-order at Nordstrom (.com). Among the new arrivals you’ll find the bag I have featured here. It’s called the Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Stam Satchel. We’re all familiar with the Stam, but it appears as though Marc has chosen a rather unusual adornment for this particular version — two extra large safety pins. Leave it to good ol’ Marc to give us all a good chuckle! He has this way of taking something so ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary. Yes, it’s wacky and eccentric. But what can I say? Marc is a wacky and eccentric sorta guy (in a good way, of course!). And I can’t help but love him and his designs regardless. I’m always excited to see his new collections season after season, anxiously waiting to see what he’ll come up with next.

The Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Stam Satchel is available in Cobalt Blue (shown) or Black. The bag features an updated smooth texture and contrast trim. Extra stiff and bringing in some serious bling is the Two-Textured Leather Satchel by Christian Dior. A feminine crescent shaped shoulder bag is produced with an assortment of pleated pebbled and crocodile textured leathers. You either love, hate or simply don’t mind the array of different leathers, but what stands out above all has got to be the numerous amount of studs and hardware found on this single piece. Over decorated with grommets and buckles, I can’t decide whether I find this piece to be tasteful or tacky. I’m the kind of Bagista that likes hardware and shine on my handbags, but designers do tend to go overboard every once in a while on décor, and unfortunately, I think this bulky satchel happens to be yet another victim of this abuse.

After multiple views and never ending grommet appliqué, I’ve decided this bag is a nay in my book. Somehow, the excessive décor tends to cheapen the value of this $2,950 couture satchel. Ladies what’s your input on this handbag, would you buy this?

Look who arrived to Washington, D.C carrying one of the most sought after fuchsia handbags in the world of fashion. It’s the extra stylish and proud Desperate Housewife’s Star, Eva Longoria. My goodness take another good look at her striking hot arm candy. I can’t even imagine how much moolah she dropped on that beauty, but if I had that amount of cash lying around, I’d treat myself too!

Eva’s outfit consists of a quick-to-get-into and extra comfy jumpsuit, dark sunnies, and sky blue platform pumps. Her handbag of choice happens to be her stunning, shiny Crocodile Hermes Birkin. How heavy is it, what size is it? From the looks of it, Eva’s satisfied enough to use it for travel. If you love her style, you can pick up a pair of overalls at your local boutique or department store and pair with your favorite heels. As for her handbag of choice, we all know how much damage a crocodile Birkin can do to your bank account. While browsing around on the Bloomingdales website the other day, I noticed that some new designers had been added to their handbag selection. Some of these designers (e.g. Jack Rabbit, Kara Ross, and Treesje) were ones I had heard of and written about before, despite the fact that some of them are relatively new to the world of handbags. However, there was also an unfamiliar face that stood out from the crowd. Introducing the Jenna Tote from a designer called Beirn (pronounced “burn”).

Intrigued by this gorgeous tote, I decided to do some investigating to see what I could learn about it and its designer. The Beirn Jenna Tote, like all bags from this designer, is constructed of genuine watersnake skin. The company, founded by a mother and her two daughters, was built on the idea of having luxury, durability and versatility all in one bag. But the Jenna Tote is more than just those things, it is also absolutely stunning! I love the simple styling and the wide range of rich colors (25 in all) that it comes in. Plus it comes with a pretty reasonable price tag. Normally, genuine snake skin runs in the quadruple digits.

The Beirn Jenna Tote measures 17.5″ x 14.5″ x 4.5″. It features a magnetic closure, double shoulder straps, and an ultra durable canvas lining. It retails for only $315. Find it at Shop Bloomingdales.com, where it is currently available in Hot Pink (shown) and Black.
