Is it just me? Or were those mini cross-body bags the hot thing for Fall… 2009? Like most of you ladies out there, my local mall was jam-packed with displays of cross-body bags. But can we truly say that this particular style was “so Fall 2009″? After all, they are great for when you need your hands free. There’s nothing worse than trying to hang onto your bulky satchel when your hands are full of shopping bags from your latest rendezvous at the mall. But would they be appropriate for everyday use? Probably not. Especially if you typically carry a whole arsenal of makeup and other essentials around with you on a day to day basis. However, this isn’t to say that a cross-body bag wouldn’t come in handy from time to time. And if you use it for something in which they were originally intended (i.e., a camera bag), then it is probably worth your time to snap one up.

When I was three, the most fabulous gift my parents bought me was a battery operated Power Wheels pink Barbie Jeep, and boy was I grateful for that. As the years when by, I grew out of my “first vehicle” and no more attention it received. Perhaps the most famous (not to mention most recognizable) Marc Jacobs handbag is the Stam. It truly is an iconic piece, making it the perfect cornerstone to any handbag lover’s collection. I think what fascinates me the most about the Marc Jacobs Stam is how it can be reinvented again and again without ever missing a beat. It certainly is a bag of many faces, each of which is beautiful in its own way. With so many exciting versions to choose from, you can probably imagine my excitement when I learned that a new Marc Jacobs Stam would be joining the club.

Okay, I’m just going to come out and say it… I LOVE REBECCA MINKOFF HANDBAGS! And I am absolutely dying to get my hands on one right now! Surprisingly, I was not introduced to this designer by catching a glimpse of the Morning After Bag or the Nikki. Nope, the very first Rebecca Minkoff bag I ever laid eyes on was the Matinee. And although this style has been MIA for quite some time, it is still one of my favorites. The only problem is that it always seemed like it was just a tad too big for my liking (especially as a handheld). So when fellow TBF’er shootingstarluma mentioned she had pre-ordered the new Rebecca Minkoff MINI Matinee, I practically fell over in my chair! It wasn’t long before this beauty made its way onto my wish list. Hmm, I really hope my husband is reading this!

Someday I will own my very own Hermes Birkin, but in the mean time as I daydream, I’ll just admire the fashionista’s who already do. It’s Keeping up with the Kardashians star, Miss Kim K. looking extra stylish and classy in New York City. Kim’s no stranger to the camera, as she isn’t afraid to flash a smile let alone take her 12K+ handbag out in public. We’re guessing her Birkin has some serious security surrounding it, or at least we hope so. Kims choice of Birkin is the wonderfully sized 35cm TOGO leather in a classic yet not so common shade of Dove Grey. It’s not just yet Grey but it’s definitely not ivory, and it can be worn with pretty much any outfit in your closet. With that said, this piece is definitely a keeper! The rare palladium hardware adds a nice modern look to the overall look of this Birkin.

The mix and matching of grays and blues worked out just fine for Jessica Alba who was spotted at the airport. Over accessorized with knee high stockings, poms on her scarf, jewels at the shoulder, and a masculine hat might sound like a bit much to wear all at once, but Jessica sure does look happy, and we’ll just say that that’s all that matters. The one accessory that caught my eye was her luscious red orange designer handbag, and that’ll be the Marcie large shoulder bag by Chloe. It seemed like for a while we weren’t seeing as many Chloe accessories in the celebrity world since the Paddington outburst, but it looks like fashionista’s are rediscovering their love for the French couture brand. As for the Marcie bag, I absolutely adore it. It’s leather, oversized, and has that unique design of a zip top and a front flap closure. The rolled leather handles carry on a distinctive design and of course gold toned hardware on this pretty shade will add a nice pop of color to any outfit.

It is sometimes hard to believe that Halston‘s ticket to fame came when the company’s founder, Roy Halston Frowick, designed the pillbox hat Jacqueline Kennedy wore to her husband’s 1961 presidential inauguration. The company today, with London-based designer Marios Schwab currently holding the creative reins, is most famous for its sensual dresses and simple, yet chic handbag designs.
