***Muratori Petal Purse Giveaway***

Just a reminder our current Muratori giveaway event is still going on, but not for long, so don’t forget to sign up!

The amazing duo behind Muratori Designs is giving away one of the crown jewels of their new Spring 2010 collection, the Petal Hobo in Cream!

Like all the other amazing bags in the designer’s collection, the Petal Hobo, handcrafted in Italy, is made in a very eco-sensitive fashion. The dress is made from a vegetable-tanned and chrome-free leather and each of the petals is individually arranged and hand-stitched into place. The interior of the bag is lined with an organic cotton. The Petal Hobo is available at endless.com for $975 and is available in garnet, camel and noir. But for this giveaway, one lucky lady is going to walk away with the stunning Cream! It’s the perfect go-to bag for those casual summer months!

JADEtribe Nina Clutch

I heard through the grapevine that the hot new trend for Summer 2010 is the tribal look. But wait… tribal? If you’re praying that it doesn’t involve those so-called tribal tattoos from about a decade or so ago, don’t worry! The tribal look is the big sister of boho. It is cluttered and fun, colorful and cultural, eclectic and quirky. Think ethnic prints, natural materials, and piled on jewelry! And, when it comes to handbags, think JADEtribe! Introducing the Nina Clutch!

Bag Trends: Nylon!

All my life, I’ve been a devotee to leather handbags. Only straying to fabric bags for the good old diaper bag or beach bag and perhaps a utilitarian tote. I turned up my nose at canvas, satin, nylon and other non-leather bags. Oh, yes! I was a snob about Prada nylon too! I now have to apologize, admit I was small-minded and must re-frame my opinions! There are so many great new (and durable) fabrics in handbags that deserve a second look. Designers that were entrenched in leather now embrace nylon and other materials. It could be that they were simply looking for less expensive alternatives than leather or even more eco-friendly materials, but I believe they’d made some great design choices as well!

Yves Saint Laurent Muse
Yes, the classic Muse bag is now available in nylon! Same great shape and style for $1195. The leather version is $1550. Not a significant different, but it looks great just the same! Perhaps you can pick up a great pair of sandals for the difference?

halle-berry-style-gustto-milano-messenger-falcha-bag
Halle Berry has been spotted out and about, all over West Hollywood sporting a couple different of her favorite Gustto handbags.

My favorite, the Falcha is known for it’s ultra soft Italian leather shoulder bag features a removable strap that effortlessly transforms it into a messenger. With exposed zippers and a bright purple suede interior, Halle’s Falcha bag is the perfect accessory to edge up her laid back look. And it must be a hit, there’s only a couple available in stock over at zappos.

Also in her bag closet, the super casual Gustto Milano messenger. Perfect for any on-the-go occasion.

Juicy Couture Coastal Butterfly Tote

Does anyone remember the Juicy Couture Sunrise Tote that I wrote about back in March? After what seemed like the longest winter on record, I was ready to start thinking about beach totes. I mean, what better way to get yourself revved up for those warm and sunny months? Now I’m not saying that my feelings have changed about the Juicy Couture Sunrise Tote. It is still a really cute bag! But I recently came across this newer bag from Juicy Couture called the Coastal Butterfly Tote and… oh… my… gosh! What an adorable bag! I am in love with the vertical, pink and white striping. I could totally see myself sporting this bag at the beach for Memorial Day weekend. I also love the large butterfly graphic adorning the front side of this bag.

Marc Jacobs Castoro Beaver Shoulder Bag

Marc Jacobs and his collection makes it on my top three of my all time favorite designers. Most of his goods are a win in my book… and then there is his “other” stuff. Feast your eyes on the Castoro Beaver Fur Shoulder Bag, a piece that arrives as freaky as any fur bag could possibly get. Although a handbag with fur on it would never make my collection, I can admire a piece that’s reasonably attractive for its exotic appeal… but this is simply horrid.

Jimmy Choo Zebra Print Sky Hobo

When it comes to animal prints, I find myself going back and forth a lot. First I love them. Then I hate them. Then I starting thinking they aren’t so bad. Then I start wondering what I ever saw in them. And, finally, I find myself loving them again. So what’s with all the yo-yo-ing? After giving it a lot of thought, I finally came to the conclusion that it is them… not me. I think it is all in the way the animal print in presented. Sometimes it’s gorgeous and other times it’s just plain gaudy. But what about this latest version of the Jimmy Choo Sky Hobo? As you can see, this fan favorite has been given an exotic makeover for the Fall 2010 Collection!

Gucci Techno Horsebit Cellarius Metallic Medium Hobo

I have never owned a Gucci handbag. For that matter, I’m not sure I’ve owned anything by Gucci. There have been some items I’ve admired in the past… like that darling high gloss crocodile handbag I saw in the New York flagship store back in 2003. I’ve kicked myself for not purchasing it at a reasonable $2,000. (Similar bags are now $15,000) But I am seeing so much more about the line to love. I’ve always admired the horsebit detail and I am loving it on the Gucci Techno Horsebit Cellarius Metallic Medium Hobo!

Sophisticated in it’s clean lines and sleek styling, this bag has taken the traditional Techno Hobo to a much higher level. I would have to classify it as a classic bag as you would be able to carry for year’s to come. There’s just enough detail to keep it from being boring. An interesting leather luggage tag, sumptuous tassle with bamboo detailing and gorgeous knot detail wrapped around the horsebit detail. Softly gleaming silver-tone details finish the look perfectly. There are no rough or unfinished details to this bag. Each design element flows seamlessly from one to the other.
