Monica Botkier is one of my favorite handbag designers of all time. Her classic like the Trigger is an instant star to many, eye-catching and stunning. So when I saw the news over on WWD that one of her designs was copied by the Kardashian’s I had to pass the news along.
Traveling is always more fun in style. Some may think it’s silly to buy designers travel bags but I think it’s quite fashionable. I personally have Diane von Furstenberg luggage and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had it for over 2 years now and it still looks brand new. The luggage I had before fell apart within months, and my DVF travel goodies are still going strong!
My first “designer” bag was a Louis Vuitton Speedy style and I loved that bag till it’s death, but ironically have never owned one since. That will have to change soon as I am recently drawn to this style again. Perhaps because there are so many designers making them right now. While there are some great ones, The Chloe Aurora Duffel Bag has my attention at the moment.
Rebecca Minkoff is one of my all time favorite designers and it’s mainly because her handbags and accessories are classic, timeless but also eye catching. What I love the most about Ms. Minkoff’s brand, is that any of her pieces can be carried/used all year long. She may come out with different colors for each of the seasons but overall anything from her brand is usable all year long, which makes it all good investment pieces. I mean, whats the point of purchasing an accessory or handbag that you can only use a few times during the year? The economy is bad, we’re in a recession and I know when I’m purchasing anything fashion related if I can’t use it all year long I don’t buy it. Thankfully, I see Rebecca Minkoff as “year proof”. I know for certain anything I buy of hers will be used pretty much every month out of the year.
When I first saw the Marni Studded Tote, I thought how great it would look this fall slung over my shoulder. A great finishing touch with my new denim and boots! In reality, it’s much more versatile than that. Perfect paired with prepster, boho, casual chic or even office ready styles. When I think of August, there are three things that come to mind: my birthday, scorching hot weather and a new school year! For most people, the new school year arrives in August. Whether it be for grade school, high school or even college August seems to be the starting point for most. Thankfully, I’m done with college and buying school supplies but it’s always fun to see what designers come out with during this time of the year.
The whole stud trend may have came and went, but I still love them it pieces. I’ve never been the type to follow trends, and if I love a trend so much I will rock it until I feel it’s time to let go of it not the fashion industry. To me, studs go hand-in-hand with the whole edgy look which is what I wear most the the time.
I’m an old fashion kind of gal. I miss the days of libraries and going to the book store. Just the other day, I drove by my Borders, or shall I say what was Borders. It now looks like a vacant two story building. I do love the internet, but I feel technology is taking away the history, meaning and romance of what the norm use to be. I guess I better get use to it because it’s only going to get worse.
People are all into “E Readers” now. I will never buy one, I love the smell of books too much but I did see a case for one I loved. If I were to ever buy one in the future I would definitely see what Rebecca Minkoff has up her sleeve. She seems to be one of the most stylish designers out there.
