Game Day Bags!

I just attended my Alma Mater’s homecoming game. Getting dressed for it is always a chore as I’m not a big “fan” of team gear. I typically wear basics and add a spot of my team’s color. Ironically, I have very little of either color in my wardrobe. The second big fashion issue with attending these games is bag related. Taking my big satchel, hobo or other style I own in my closet invariably involves sitting the bag below my seat…or holding it the entire game. Neither is too appealing. With today’s abundance of small cross-body bags and color options, it should be a snap finding a suitable bag for these events! Here’s some great ones for you to consider on game day!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Karlie Bag
If your team is a mean green fighting machine, this is the bag for you! 9″ x 5.5″ x 1.5″ with credit card slots, will keep your belongings perfectly with ease for game day. Striking name plate on the front says you’re a fashionable fan. $258.

Rebecca Minkoff Mini Zip Clutch
Edgy zippered clutch with cross body strap measures 9″ x 7″ x 1″. It’s perfect to show you ar a seriously tough fan and it will take you into a night out as well! And it doesn’t break the bank either! $195.

Jason Wu Jourdan

Jason Wu, one of the First Lady’s go-to designers has launched a handbag line. With the plethora of designers, old and new, what does Wu bring to the table? Simply put, old world glamour with a modern viewpoint.

Sure, we are seeing loads an loads of frame bags, box bags, structure, structure and more structure, but the Wu bags really do bring a different look to the mix. Impeccably crafted with a touch of whimsy too. I think you’ll find these are eye-catching, timeless and highly desirable for your bag wardrobe.

Christian Louboutin Artemis

Wow! Christian Louboutin sure has had some edge recently! Perhaps this designer is hoping to be recognized for more than their signature red soles? Each and every shoe is a jewel, yes. But the handbag designs I have been seeing from this designer lately have been jewels as well! Or I suppose in this case, it would be a real stud! Haha! Seriously though, this is one stunning little bag. Introducing the Christian Louboutin Artemis Bag!

Betseyville Betsey Girl “Bike” Tote

Betsey Johnson has always been one of the most eccentric designers out there. Her and Pat Fields remind me of each other. Both women are fearless and not afraid to show this in their designs.

The Betseyville Betsey Girl “Bike” tote is adorable. Not only do I love that Betsey Johnson put herself on the tote, but she also dressed herself up as she would actually be seen in real life. The hair, the skirt, the shirt, the shoes everything about the tote screams Betsey Johnson. My favorite feature has to go to the big lips on the back of the tote. Nothing is ever finished without a kiss, well at least in my opinion it’s not.

Michael Kors Grayson

The Louis Vuitton “Speedy” has always been one of my favorite handbags. It’s perfect, classic and goes with just about anything wardrobe wise. One problem with the “Speedy” is that they are pricey especially if they come out in limited edition collections.

Other designers have taken the design of the “Speedy” and put their own little touch or flare to it. One of those designers is Michael Kors. The MICHAEL Michael Kors “Grayson” is fabulous all on its own and is a fraction of the price of a Louis Vuitton “Speedy”.

Marc Jacobs Colorblock Bag

Up for grabs this season is the Color block tote by the Marc Jacobs Collection. Everything about the color block trend is stimulating, especially when the hue choices are bold and complimentary. You have to deliver cleverness if you want a piece to magnify an attractive palette, and us bagista’s know that if someone delivers this concept finely, it is no other than Mr. Jacobs himself. To our surprise, this retro-inspired tote is a little short on the charm and arrives quite dull.

Phillip Lim Pashli Croc Satchel

I’m not sure what it is, but I have been thinking about work bags lately. Perhaps I am fantasizing about the day I will have a real job. Not that I don’t love Bag Bliss, of course! I seem to be drawn to structured satchels, over messenger bags and other styles. One that caught my eye recently is the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Painted Croc-Print Satchel!

Rebecca Minkoff Positive Change Cory Pouch

Every now and then I think everyone in this world needs a little pick me up. It’s hard to be happy and act like everything is OK everyday, especially when they are not. For me, when I’m down I love to read positive quotes. On my computer I have a document saved of all my favorite uplifting quotes, it’s like they are a reminder of why you should continue to be positive. They give me hope and help me to strive forward.

When I saw the Rebecca Minkoff “Positive Change” Cory Pouch, I instantly fell in love. I’ve always like the messages featured on the Cory but this one made me smile. This year has personally been a struggle for me, and the pouch was a reminder for me that a positive change can always happen in your life at any given moment.
