As I’m getting ready to head out of the country (destination: Playa del Carmen!) the search is on for new travel gear, especially a passport cover. The one I use currently is a bright yellow one by Furla, but for some reason doesn’t really fit my passport. I know, it’s odd. It’s like I have to stuff it in. So it’s time to retire that one and search for a new. I’m not too picky when it comes to small accessories, except that it must be in some color-popping shade. I can’t help it, I love intense neons! So when I saw the neon Fluo Pink Emilio Pucci Python passport cover it was pretty much love at first sight.
I can’t believe Summer is almost here already! We’ve had horrible gloomy weather here in South Florida lately but I know sooner or later the sun will be shining and it will be extremely hot. Every Summer tons of tourists flock to South Florida to enjoy our heat and the beach! I always love seeing all the fashionable accessories the tourists bring along with them. A few items I always see in different styles are sandals, bikini’s and straw bags! I’m usually not a big fan of straw bags but I have to say, I’m drooling over the Juicy Couture “Lynn” Straw Bag!
All these gorgeous shades of blue, I can’t take it. I’m usually not a fan of the color blue but it’s everywhere this Spring. Anything that is cobalt or close to cobalt, I love. That color is absolutely breathtaking and I can’t get enough of it, which is odd because I love the color black. Black is my go to color for anything wardrobe related so for me to even consider liking a bright color is a breakthrough. Maybe this is the start of having more color in my life, maybe it’s not but cobalt is now one of my favorite colors.
There is one bag that we are guaranteed to see season after season from the house of Alexander McQueen, and that’s the iconic staple clutch. Anytime there’s a new Alexander McQueen Skull Box Clutch I have to stop what I’m doing to go check it out. When I was younger, I liked anything that looked sporty. I was the type of girl that loved to pretty much look like “Sporty Spice” from the Spice Girls. Gym pants and sneakers were my favorite thing to wear at one point. Thankfully I’m out of that stage but I still like handbags that are simple and have a sporty look to them. I use to love handbags that had logos or colors all over them but now I think simplicity is best. Simplicity keeps fashion looking classy but yet stylish.
I will admit that when I first laid eyes on the Mettle Simi Bombshell Brass Wood Bag, I thought to myself “what the heck is this thing”. Seriously though, what the heck is it? A quick glance probably makes you think a bowl or a vase or an upside down helmet of some sort. These were the things that flashed through my mind. But no, this piece is actually meant to be a handbag. The hammered brass exterior gives it a very rustic look, perfect if you’re looking for an evening bag that is a bit outside the box. There is no closure of any kind, simply an opening in the top. I suppose you would want to wear it as a crossbody bag, that way there would be less risk of any contents spilling out.
Being on a budget stinks, especially when you see something you really want! I’ve seen a lot of handbags and clutches I’ve liked lately, but none of them compare to the CC SKYE “Victoria” Wristlet Clutch. This clutch has my name written all over it and I want it badly. If I wasn’t currently in Acting School you better believe I’d be whipping out my credit card to buy this baby.
I’m a Leo and I love being different especially when it comes to fashion. I love black leather, I love gold hardware and I love unique accessories. The “Victoria” Clutch is the coolest fashion accessory I’ve seen in a while and I must have it! Hey, a girl can dream right?
A couple of months ago, I heard news that Jonathan Adler would be introducing a handbag collection for Spring 2012. I have always adored his iconic pop art designs, especially on his small accessories such as phone cases and umbrellas. These pieces are irresistibly funky.
