Marc by Marc Jacobs “What a Spectacle” Beach Tote

It’s Spring and it’s already scorching hot here in South Florida. Before we know it, Summer will be here and it will be scorching hot pretty much everywhere nationwide. When I think of Spring or Summer, nothing comes to my mind but the beach. When it’s incredibly hot outside going to the beach or a pool feels pretty amazing. Plus, who doesn’t like a little bit of a tan? I resemble Casper at the moment so a fashionable trip to the beach is in order.

Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Shimmer Flirty Bag

For the past couple months, I’ve been on the hunt for a cute cross-body bag that has a golden chain strap. For some reason a little bag with a gold chain strap screams classy and sophisticated to me. My Mother told me it’s more like an evening type of bag but I highly disagree. Chanel has always had chain straps and I think they look stunning being carried around day or night. They maybe a little more glamorous and flashy than the normal handbag but who cares? Life is too short and you might as well carry and wear things that not many people do. In my opinion, style is more fun when you make it your own and stick out from the crowd.

The Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Shimmer “Flirty” Bag is the exact type of bag that I’ve been looking for. I would prefer it more in black but it’s still fabulous. I see someone strutting around with this bag with a fierce pair of skinny jeans and some beautiful nude heels.

Tory Burch Robinson Satchel

My all time favorite bag is the Louis Vuitton “Speedy“. Any bag that is shaped similar to it, I fall is love with. It kind of reminds me of a little suitcase and I love that I can throw all my essentials in it and call it a day. Sometimes my handbags are incredibly messy inside and with the Speedy I love that it has so much room for all my junk. I can open it up wide and find all my things easily. I guess you could say it’s messy prone?

A few years back, I would buy as many Speedy’s as I could. I would literally save every penny and when I had enough go into Louis Vuitton and buy one. I spent way too much and in this economy that isn’t possible for me to do anymore. I also, love black leather now. It’s been my thing for about three years now and I love black leather handbags with gold hardware. So I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I fell in love with the Tory Burch “Robinson” Satchel. It was everything I was looking for in a bag. Looked like a “Speedy” and was black!

Rebecca Minkoff Mixtape iPhone Case

I don’t have an iPhone at the moment but I’m eagerly waiting for iPhone 5 to come out. I figure it’s pointless to get the iPhone 4s when the newer one will probably be out sometime this year. Sometimes waiting is a horrible feeling but yet worth it in the end. However, I do love looking at all the fabulous iPhone cases that are out now. Some are crazy, some are designer, some are cute and some are stunning.

OndadeMar Beach Bag

Anyone familiar with OndadeMar? It’s a luxury brand that specializes in beachwear with a latin vibe to it. OndadeMar originated in Colombia, South America and over a ten year period, has expanded into the fashion market world wide. Today, one of our favorite boutiques (Shopbop) offers these resort-influenced products for the exotic enthusiast in mind. The Carry On Beach Bag consists of a handmade woven tote with colorful knotted threads at the handles. It’s sturdy, eco-friendly, and sun ready; but my concern is where do you draw the line between chic and novelty?

Bags in Highlighter Hues

Fluorescent colors, neon colors, highlighter hues, or whatever you want to call them… they were a hot thing when I was a kid. You name it, everything was trying to jump on the highlighter hue bandwagon. I believe Crayola even came out with some neon crayons. If I remember right though, they didn’t work very well when you tried to color with them. It was like the wax was too hard or something. But like many trends of the 1990s, this one quickly became a distant memory. And those crummy crayons? I think those went in the trash. Now here we are nearly 20 years later and suddenly the highlighter hues are making a bit of a come back. It started a couple of years ago with Marc Jacobs. Good old Marc is pretty quirky, so I didn’t give it a second thought. Recently though, other designers have been picking up on the idea. Now handbags in highlighter hues are turning up practically everywhere. Admittedly, I wasn’t totally on board in the beginning. But after seeing some pieces from my favorite designers, I have started to warm up to the idea. These handbags are definitely not for the faint of heart! If you like to have fun though, I think you will enjoy the playfulness of these pieces. Below you will find some of my top picks. Just remember though, these are just the tip of the iceberg!

Rebecca Minkoff Flirty Bag in Neon – $250
This quilted leather crossbody bag is so cute! I absolutely love the all-over dimples. Plus the cone stud-encrusted bottom provides a nice extra touch.

StefaniBags.com Offering New Designers

StefaniBags.com is one of my favorite online boutiques! I’m always finding myself popping over there just to see the new arrivals. They always have a great selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories from my favorite mid-level designers. The styles they choose to stock their virtual shelves with are trendy and fashion forward. But the best part? I love the excellent customer service they provide! StefaniBags.com even has live chat with personal shoppers waiting to help you find just what you’re looking for. I don’t even get that when I shop in a department store!

If you love StefaniBags.com as much as I do, then you will be pleased to learn they have recently expanded their selection even more. They are now stocking their virtual shelves with items from Vanessa Mooney, House of Harlow, Will Leather Goods, Winter Kate, Soixante Neuf, Kollaburra, and more. Heck, they have even brought Foley + Corinna back! So if you haven’t checked it out already, then I highly recommend you do! But just to give you a little taste of what I’m talking about, here are a few recent additions that really caught my eye!

Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote – $395
I will always be a fan of Foley + Corinna! The Mid City Tote is such a classic style and it looks great in this vibrant shade of electric blue. Carry it in hand or over your shoulder.

Maison Scotch Petite Crossbody Bags

Cross body minis are everywhere right now. They are the perfect accessory for when you don’t need or want to carry around a bunch of stuff. Personally, I like them when I have to walk a long distance. Sightseeing isn’t much fun if you’re lugging around everything but the kitchen sink. But what about the mini of the minis? They can certainly be cute, but they are only suitable for when you need little more than your phone, cards, and keys. Take a look at the Maison Scotch Mini Satchels and you’ll see what I mean.

Fortune Cookie Box

I have a thing for Chinese food. I used to go to this same place and order the exact same thing every time. My husband thought I was weird. But hey, if you like something then what’s wrong with ordering it every time? I really miss that place. Oddly enough though, the food wasn’t my favorite part. My favorite part, of course, was the fortune cookies! I especially liked the fortune I received that said I would inherit a lot of money. Now if only it had come true! Haha!
