Is it just me? Or were those mini cross-body bags the hot thing for Fall… 2009? Like most of you ladies out there, my local mall was jam-packed with displays of cross-body bags. But can we truly say that this particular style was “so Fall 2009″? After all, they are great for when you need your hands free. There’s nothing worse than trying to hang onto your bulky satchel when your hands are full of shopping bags from your latest rendezvous at the mall. But would they be appropriate for everyday use? Probably not. Especially if you typically carry a whole arsenal of makeup and other essentials around with you on a day to day basis. However, this isn’t to say that a cross-body bag wouldn’t come in handy from time to time. And if you use it for something in which they were originally intended (i.e., a camera bag), then it is probably worth your time to snap one up.
I think one of my most favorite cross-body bags is the Alexander Wang Brenda Mini Camera Bag. This bag would be perfect for when you don’t need or want to carry a handbag. Personally, though, I would use this bag as… well… a camera bag. I love having little cross-body bags like this when I am on vacation. They are just perfect for sightseeing! I really love the casual look of this bag, with its soft leather and urban-inspired details. Plus it looks to be just the right size for my heavy-duty camera!
You can check out the Alexander Wang Brenda Mini Camera Bag at Saks Fifth Avenue! It measures 6″ x 7″ x 2″ and it is currently available in either Black or Green. Retail $425
