I’ve been so excited about this new bag by Mulberry that I spotted a few weeks ago. Then, the small version was spotted on the arm of the Duchess of Cambridge during her whirlwind Canadian / American tour. I have to say, she has excellent taste as I fell in love with this bag at first sight!

Mulberry is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary and appropriately introduced this beautiful new Polly Push Lock that borrows it’s general styling from the Neely bags and features an updated touch of the 70′s with an envelope flap and a spot of glamour with it’s gold tone hardware. I love the two tones of leather that combine for a slightly less formal look. The rolled leather top handle combined with the detachable shoulder strap make it functional and stylish.

Emilio Pucci began his iconic line in 1947 when a photo of a snowsuit he had designed for a friend ended up on the pages of Harper’s Bazaar. Today, we associate bold psychadelic prints and more recently sleek shapes with geometric cutouts that grace the most beautiful bodies in the world.

Making a statement comes naturally to the brand and I see a major one with the Media Flap Bag. What could have become an ultra-conservative bag is transformed with exquisite detailing. Need a bag for day, travel and casual evenings? This one will take you from 7 a.m. to midnight. Sure, it’s surprisingly clever to have a detachable clutch that provides extra functionality as well as subtle design detail. It is deftly superior in the design of a foldover bag that looks great…. well, folded over as well as full-size. I can imagine this being the perfect trip bag. Moderate size for the flight out, super size to handle the extra items I bought that don’t fit in my luggage and a cute little clutch for quick errands or casual evenings. The TSA will never know you actually have three bags instead of the allowed one!

Wanny Di Filippo, an eclectic Italian designer, has a passion for bison. It is so intense that he owns over 1000 of them as expressed through sculpture, drawings, engravings and other objects. His love is so deep that he named his line of handbags and accessories Il Bisonte. With stores worldwide, I only recently discovered his line via the luxury website, Luisa Via Roma.

With so much interested in structured bags, studded, fringed, over-sized and a plethora of other treatments, it was refreshing to see a line that is uncluttered, pure, chic and supple as many of his bags are done. Oh, there’s an ode to the wild west and his passion for bison, but mostly, you will see clean design, and essential materials of luxurious cowhide, cotton canvas and more.

Givenchy bags: The Pandora, Antigona, Nightingale have a luxurious rocker chic vibe about that that says edge and sophistication all at one time. I’ve been eyeballing their bags for awhile now but hadn’t made the plunge. Prices range from $1178 for a mini Pandora to a over $2,100 for a large Nightingale. Serious stuff.

While perusing the Luisa Via Roma site, I ran across Elena Ghisellini bags and thought they looked quite similar. So, I did a little research. Turns out she is the Givenchy designer behind those serious bags! So, there’s definitely going to be some similarities!

Beautiful distressing and treatments to the leather with minimal hardware. Classic, sophisticated and hard-working, these bag have character and amazing style. What’s more, the price point for her line is around $900 for each bag! Deserves a look, right?!

My favorite bag from her line is the Grainy Top Handled Bag for $938. It’s available in black and taupe. The bag is rectangular and measures 14.5″ x 19.5″ with an 8″ strap drop that lays nicely across the bag giving it an angled side appearance. Two rolled leather top handles finish the bag.
