Balenciaga Glaze City
I have been dreaming of a Balenciaga bag. I was thinking maybe a First, since I like a more manageable size when it comes to handheld styles. Unfortunately, it will probably have to wait until I am done with school. A graduation gift, perhaps? Hmm, maybe more like a congrats on your new job gift! In the mean time though, I do find it fun to look at the latest creations from this designer. My favorites? The various reinventions of those classic motorcycle styles! Take a look at this one, for example. Meet the Balenciaga Glaze Gold City Bag!
Okay, I can totally see where the “glaze” part comes from. The trademark distressed leather has been replaced with a new glossy black leather. This unique shiny effect is created using a special abrasive treatment. The black is complimented with black lacquer-finish hardware, for a tone-on-tone look. But wait, where’s the gold? Funny you should ask that. The gold is actually a metal mesh accenting the inside of the handles and the edges of the bag (i.e. piping). Very interesting, indeed! For now though, I think I will stick with the originals. If you’re looking for something with a little bit of edge though, this reinterpretation might be just what you’re looking for!
