Balenciaga Raffia Woven Shopper Tote
Beach season is just around the corner and a lot of designers are already churning out straw totes by the dozens. They are literally popping up everywhere! Balenciaga, of course, is no exception. They too have a straw tote that is ready for a little fun in the sun. Meet the Balenciaga Raffia Woven Shopper Tote!
Now this is not the first straw tote Balenciaga has ever produced, there have been others in the past. Still… I have a hard time wrapping my head around a Balenciaga bag that isn’t made of super squishy leather. I mean, that is what this designer is known for. So seeing one made of straw just isn’t doing it for me. I like the look of this bag in general. The contrasting weave of natural and lavender raffia is very pleasing to the eye.
I also like the bold blocks of color along to top and bottom. And it certainly is roomy enough to be a beach tote! I guess I’m just having a hard time stomaching the $1,165 price tag. You could practically get a leather Balenciaga for that much and it would be a classic you could carry year round. Straw totes tend to only stick around for one season and then you get a new one next year. If you’re willing to make the splurge though, this tote would look mighty nice sitting in the sand alongside your beach towel.

Not a big fan of this one. The color is nice but I think that’ s it.
I would rather own a balenciaga handbag, like the City. This you can only wear like 2 months out of the year.
