Summer is vastly approaching us and I think when everyone thinks of it beaches, islands, getaways and the hot sun comes to people’s minds. I would say the most popular thing to do in the Summer is to visit the beach. I live in South Florida, 10 minutes from Miami to be exact, and all year long people flock here to visit the beach but especially during the Summer. The beach gets so packed that people are literally side by side to each other on the sand. Needless to say, I try to stay away from the beach but when I go I do like to look as fashionable as possible.

The Juicy Couture “Coronado” Beach Bag is the perfect accessory to accompany you at the beach. It would look cuter if it was navy blue and white to go with the whole sailor theme but it’s pretty adorable. The rope gives it that boat feeling, all it needed was a tiny anchor hanging from it!

Look at this steal of a deal! $100 for both a designer sun hat and summer hobo. I mean that’s just too crazy of a deal to pass up, which is why this Diane von Furstenburg Vintage print Set is currently on my Must Have List. But I’m debating between the Green and the Black version – the only two available colors online at Saks Fifth Avenue. At this moment I’m leaning more towards the green but with the hope that another color will pop up, like possibly a sunshine yellow or rosey pink!

There are few things in the fashion world that you can count on cycling every single year. But that is exactly what happens with nautical themed fashion items! Just like clockwork, the nautical theme stuff makes an appearance every year around this time. Personally, I don’t have anything against nautical themes… just as long as it is done tastefully. Anchors and sail boats? No, thank you! But something as simple as a blue and white stripe can give you the impression of a nautical theme, without going (hehe!) overboard! Some of us are already enjoying the sunshine and beach weather and some aren’t. One thing is for sure though, soon Summer will be here and a majority of America will be able to enjoy the sun and beach. For those that don’t ever experience extreme heat where you live, then perhaps you’ll travel somewhere this Summer that does. All in all, Fashionista’s love being prepared for the heat. The intense heat may make us sweaty and tired but a true fashionista loves looking stylish at all times regardless of the temperature.

I’m not sure why, but straw totes are always a big trend for the beach. Whenever I go to the beach, which is rare, I always spot a ton of straw totes. Personally, I don’t like carrying bags to the beach because I believe sand is evil. It goes everywhere!

However, I love the Felix Rey “Superstar” Straw Tote. This is definitely a bag I’d consider to buy because not only is it adorable but it matches my wardrobe! It’s cute, spacious and and makes your beach visit a little more fashionable.

You know that summer is just around the corner when a slew of straw handbags start cropping up everywhere. When it comes to straw handbags, however, I have some really mixed feelings. The material is natural, neutral, and light weight. It is the perfect material for beach totes and it looks pretty nifty as well! It is the everyday styles that I am somewhat hesitant about. I mean, you can only have a hit or a miss. So when I heard that Rebecca Minkoff had given her own spin on the straw handbag, I found myself quite intrigued. Were they going to be a hit or a miss? Spring is here and soon Summer will be vastly approaching us. Even though I live close to the beach I hardly go. The sand annoys me like there is no tomorrow. I absolutely hate when it gets stuck to my skin then just gets all over my car. What I hate more is when all the stuff I bring to the beach, especially my essentials, has sand all over them. This is inevitable though since most beach bags have holes in them to “try” to make the sand fall out.

When I discovered the Dolce & Gabbana “Black & White” Beach Bag I Immediately thought it was the greatest beach bag ever designed. No, it can’t keep the sand out but it sure does keep you more organized. Most beach bags are over-sized and you just throw everything you own in them. With this bag everything is labeled, which makes it a little bit easier to keep the sand out. If everything has it’s own little compartment you take it out and put it back in when you’re down with it.

Oh my gosh, where has the semester gone? Spring Break is just around the corner, meaning the semester is already half over. Now if only it felt like it was Spring outside! Oh well, I suppose I could always go somewhere warm for Spring Break.

Now all this talk about Spring Break has gotten me in the mood for some warm weather accessories! How about beach totes? Nothing screams fun-in-the-sun like a straw or raffia beach tote! I love the tapered styles too! I’m not sure why though, something about the shape just calls to me. Interestingly, what I’ve found while browsing around for these babies is that bright shades of pink really seem to be popular this season. March is almost here and as soon as we know it Summer will be here in full swing. Then again if you live in one of the hotter states, it may already feel like Summer to you! Living in Miami, it’s been in the 80′s and this is supposed to be Winter weather! Crazy, huh?

Being that it’s so hot in Florida, pretty much all year long, people flock here from all over to go to the beach. Funny, how when you live here you don’t even go? I’ve never been fond of water but it amazes me how many people from up North come here just to get away from the snow. I can’t say I blame them.

However, if I do go to the beach I always go with my best fashion foot forward. I love fashion to the point I live and breathe it so being stylish is always a must for me, even at the beach. I think designer bathing suits, sandals and beach bags are so cute. They make beach wear look a 100 times better, that’s for sure!

The See by Chloé “Zip File” Tote is an adorable bag for the beach. It’s bright, colorful and has a liner so that all your essentials aren’t visible to everyone at the beach. If you don’t mind everyone seeing what you have in your beach bag, the liner is removable. Comes in handy and makes the bag usable on and off the beach! I personally like the liner in especially if I decide to venture in the water and no one is there to guard my goods. Can’t trust wondering eyes especially in this economy! So I think the liner is a huge plus!
