Judith Leiber Crystal-Embellished Owl Clutch
by BrS on July 2, 2009 13 comments
Back in September, Jennifer had posted in TBF a comment about a Judith Leiber Snowy Owl Pillbox. That tiny little guy sure was cute! And it seemed as though several of my fellow TBFers agreed. Unfortunately, the adorable little pillbox was just that… a pillbox. Something to display on a shelf or inside a curio, not something that had any practical purpose.
Well it appears that Judith Leiber has decided to take this cute little owl and made him a wee bit more functional. Introducing the Judith Leiber Crystal-Embellished Owl Clutch! This gorgeous piece is covered with multicolored Swarovski crystals. I love the luminescent glow that these crystals have. It’s as if they change color right before your eyes as the light hits them from different angles. Plus the delicate glass eyes really seem to bring the owl to life. And I also love how this clutch comes with it’s own little pocket mirror! Only for super special occasions, I think this clutch would really glam-up a simple black dress. And when you’re not using it, simply tuck in the chain strap (as shown in the picture above) and display it alongside all your other pretties! Wow, what a beautiful addition this would make to a Judith Leiber collection!

The Judith Leiber Crystal-Embellished Owl Clutch measures 4 inches wide (all the way around) and 6 inches tall. It is fully lined and it opens at the top via a push-lock closure. Find it Here @ NET-A-PORTER!

Dooney & Bourke Sport Duck Cosmetic Purse
by Jennifer on July 1, 2009 10 comments
New to the scene over at Zappos, Dooney & Bourke handbags! One little fabulous essential that caught my eye is the Nylon Triple Zip Flat Cosmetic Pouch from the new Summer 2009 Sport Duck Collection, the Fabric Line.
Details: This spacious nylon pouch will keep all your little personals neatly organized. Features 3 separate compartments: one main one on the top which is zipper protected then two front exterior zip pockets for the little stuff. The interior is lined with hot pink material. Now for the most important point, dimensions: 7 1/4″ wide x 1/2″ deep x 5″ high.
The price.. ready to be blown away. A thrifty thrill, the Sport Duck Purse retails for only $30!
The pouch above is the little accessory to the new Sport Duck collection, bags freckled with the silhouette of a sleepy mallard duck. To be honest I don’t think this style is that bad on the Large Overnight Duffle style. It has a sort of vintage vibe to it, which I draws me in. And the price is ridiculously reasonable – only $148!

Side Note: It is very rare for me to actually come out posting about a D&B style that I like. When I think of the brand the first image that comes to mind is cartoon sketched, color crayoned bags from the Grafic Line, which is obviously targeted towards the preteen market. I’m in my early (come tomorrow, mid) 20’s, with a taste for designer items. So you wont see me prancing in my Prada Pumps down the street in a Dior Dress with a Dooney Bumble Bee or Candy Wrappers bag on arm. It would never happen.
However of course there are other styles, such as the more classic Leather Line, for those who simply don’t like cartoon images. Like for example the Dooney & Bourke Calf Large Zipper Pocket Sac.. simple, functional as a perfect day bag, comes in some stylish colors and most importantly there is no crayoned in graphic images. By the way, it’s currently on sale for only $185!

Dolce & Gabbana Lock Wallet
by Marissa on June 30, 2009 13 comments
I currently own a Louis Vuitton Wallet, but I can very much appreciate a beautiful wallet. Lately, I’ve been looking at wallets in hopes to find another one just as beautiful as my Louis Vuitton one to purchase. Nothing is as classic as a Louis Vuitton wallet, but I do agree that not only does a fashionista need “bag” variety they also need “wallet” variety.
It takes a lot for me to like wallet. Something either needs to be unique about the wallet, or it just needs to be plain beautiful. When I came across the Dolce & Gabbana “Lock” Wallet, as I like to call it, I was quite impressed. It was fairly simple, but yet the little lock in front of the wallet made it look that much more cuter and stylish.
What is cool about a wallet like this, is that you really could wear it two different ways. I would personally use this as a wallet to throw in my purse, but some people like to use stylish wallets as if they were a clutch. Think about it, if you have nothing to bring with you other than money or some credit cards then carrying a wallet like a clutch wouldn’t seem like a bad idea. I could never go anywhere without a cell phone, but if you can live without a cell phone, and lip gloss then carrying around a stunning wallet would probably be ideal for you.
The padlock really makes this wallet look unique to me, and that’s not even the coolest part. The top zip closure has an attached leather strap and keyring, so that you can actually “lock” the wallet up. Not very ideal, but definitely a cute little feature to the wallet.

The Dolce & Gabbana “Lock” Wallet can be purchased at Zappos for $467.20, which I consider to be a great price for a high end designer wallet. Get yours before they are all gone!

Gustto Cipriani Tavolo Clutch
by Marissa on June 29, 2009 9 comments
Everytime I see a beautiful clutch, I’m always drooling. Besides satchels, clutches are my second favorite style of bag. I love how they are so easy to carry around, but a majority of the time they are also quite stunning.
One of the clutches I love at the moment is the Gustto Cipriani Tavolo in blue. The clutch is not only beautiful but the zip pockets really make this clutch look stunning.
What I love most about this clutch, is that I could really see myself carrying it year round and during anytime of the day. It’s not too dressy, and not too casual that it gives me the ability to carry it whenever, and wherever and still look stylish.
I do think if this clutch were available in black, I would buy it in a heart beat. Black mixed with the gold hardware would look stunning, in my opinion. Also, a black clutch could go with anything I wear, whereas with a blue clutch I pretty much selected with what I can wear.
The best part about this clutch is the size of it. It’s the absolute perfect size to be able to carry all of your essentials like a cell phone, makeup, keys, sunglasses, etc., and still have room. It’s not very often you can find such a spacious but yet gorgeous clutch.

The Gustto Cipriani Tavolo Clutch can be purchased at Zappos for $314. Not a bad price for a clutch this beautiful.

Mad Imports Opal Appliqué Clutch

There’s something about summer that says “made from natural materials”. Whether it be a straw beach tote or a linen tunic or even a wooden bangle bracelet, naturals materials can be found just about anywhere once the summer season hits. They can offer us a wide variety of colors and interesting textures. I think the trick to wearing accessories composed of natural materials is to steer clear of anything that looks too arts and crafty. Instead, look for simple shapes and muted colors… perfect for a casual, summer look.
So what would I pick if I were choosing an accessory such as the ones I just described? I really like this Mad Imports Opal Appliqué Clutch I have pictured here. It’s a simple, envelope style clutch with a roundish (rather than squarish) shape. It is constructed of hand-woven sections of raffia that have been pieced together in a circular fashion, sort of like pieces of a pie. I love the wooden disc accent that adorns the front of the clutch and the super delicious pink color that they call “punch”. And although this clutch appears small in the picture, it is actually a decent size for an envelope. I could definitely see myself pairing this clutch with a cotton sundress. What does everyone else think?

The Mad Imports Opal Appliqué Clutch is available in three colors: Punch, Multi, or Apple. It measures 11.5″ x 7.5″ and it retails for only $88. Find it Here at Nordstroms!

Whiting & Davis Mesh Mini Crossbody Bag (Nordstrom Exclusive)
by Marissa on June 26, 2009 9 comments
Metallics and Shiny accessories seem to be everywhere these days. I literally can’t walk into a store without seeing metallic clothes (especially leggings), purses, wallets, and etc. I never liked the whole metallic “trend”, but I must say it’s really not that bad. If you know how to accessorize right and style yourself up so that you don’t look like one big Christmas ornament, you could pass as stylish and trendy.
I’m not a fan of Crossbody Bags at all, but when I can across the “Whiting & Davis Mesh Mini Crossbody Bag“, I was intrigued. It wasn’t hideous and the metallic colors really made the bag standout. You always see these ugly Crossbody Bags that look so bland and dull, and after seeing one in a variety of metallic colors it did look quite fashionable.

The bag comes in four different colors: black; bronze; gold; and silver. My favorite out of the four colors is gold. To me, the gold really stands out the most out of all the colors. If you do not want your purse to stick out like a sore thumb, then I would choose one of the other colors especially black. The metallic colors of this Crossbody Bag can be used in two different ways. The bag could style up a dull outfit, or make a metallic outfit look even more amazing.
Crossbody Bags aren’t meant to carry much of anything, but your essentials. The most you can fit into one is probably a compact, money, phone, and some other teeny tiny accessories.
The Whiting & Davis Mesh Mini Crossbody Bag, is a Nordstrom exclusive. In other words, no matter how hard you try you won’t be able to find this bag anywhere!
If you want one of these stylish beauties, you can purchase it at Nordstrom for $85. If you were look for a “shiny” bag, then this would be the perfect one to get. It’s priced great, and actually looks cute! This would be a great Crossbody Bag to add to any collection, especially if you are like myself and don’t even own one.

Bourne Daisy Clutch

I’ve been obsessed with evening bags lately, and when I see one in “pink” my heart usually skips a beat. When I came across the Bourne Daisy Clutch, I was amazed of how reasonable the price was, and how beautiful it was.
The clutch comes in three different colors: black; nude; and taupe. For some reason, they call the “pink” version of the bag “nude.” I consider “nude” more of a beige or tan color, and this clutch is clearly pink.
It is probably more ideal to get this clutch in black, mostly because of the color. Black goes with everything, and pink and taupe don’t. I loved this bag in “pink” because the jewels featured on the front of the bag really stand out more so in pink than the other two colors. The jewels seem to be hidden with the darkness of the black and taupe colors.
I also love how this clutch comes with a chain. You can carry it as a clutch, or take out the chain and carry it as if it were a little shoulder bag. Either way you choose to use the bag, it would look stunning.
Obviously, this clutch would be perfect for some type of evening event. The jewels make this clutch look pretty expensive and not to mention fancy. I would never even think of wearing this clutch to the grocery store or mall, but to a fancy restaurant I would carry it in a heartbeat.
The Bourne Daisy Clutch can be purchased at Nordstrom for $135. I consider the price of this clutch to be a steal! Evening bags aren’t always on the “affordable” side, especially if they are gorgeous. With a clutch that is so cute and affordable who can go wrong? If you have an evening event to go to in the coming months, this clutch would be the perfect bag for you to take with you!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Graphic Mouse Tote

There’s something about cute little animals that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. My husband and I took a trip to the zoo just a few weeks ago and I have had animals on the brain ever since. I especially loved seeing the adorable hyraxes perched high up on the rocks in the desert exhibit. Oddly enough, however, I also have a soft spot for the not-so-furry animals in the desert exhibit as well. Heh… but I’m sure not everyone that visits the zoo feels the same way about them as I do.
Being that I love animals so much, it’s no surprise that I simply love it when Marc Jacobs incorporates animals into his designs. So when I saw this Marc by Marc Jacobs Graphic Mouse Tote, pictured above, I just knew I had to write about it. I absolutely adore the chubby little mouse printed on the front side of this tote. He even has gold-tone studs for eyes and a Marc by Marc Jacobs button adorning his ear. Obviously, this tote is not meant for everyone. But if you loved the Marc Jacobs Mouse Ballet Flats, then you should definitely add this piece to your collection! I think this cotton tote would make an adorable bag for school, a casual day of shopping, or the even beach!

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Graphic Mouse Tote 20″ x 10″ x 6″ and it retails for only $128. Pick one up at Shop Bloomingdales.com.
