As we all know, the white handbag is so in this season. It’s perfect actually. A neutral hue that isn’t difficult to match with your articles of clothing. Just like every girl should own that simple black handbag, I feel the same way towards its compliment, the white handbag. Let me ask you girls this question. What is hotter than a white handbag this season? Why an all white Hermes Birkin of course! If you’re a fan of the French brand Hermes, then you definitely agree with my statement. Unfortunately, right now with my limited student budget, I can only daydream of owning my very own piece of French luxury, unlike the infamous Mrs. Victoria Beckham who is probably one of Hermes top customer of all times. What a diva Mrs. Beckham is, right? Whether she’s stocking up on Rodeo Drive or taking her boys to the park, I swear she always looks fabulous. If you have the extra moolah lying around, I believe putting it towards a Hermes handbag is not a bad idea at all. Their exquisite pieces live up to their name and in the long run; you’ll be carrying one true (and amazing) investment.

Every so often, us bag lovers are teased with limited edition desiger bags. Everyone one wants one, but only a lucky few can get one. The Prada Fairy bag is one of those bags. It is a limited edition bag by Prada. Only a limited amount of these bags were made. There is a waitlist about a mile long for this bag and it is extremely difficult to get on to. Gossip Girl Fashion
Gossip Girl is one of the hottest new shows on TV. It could be because it is full of young, hot, rich New York City kids. It could also be because they have one of the hottest most chic wardrobes on TV. These kids turn a normal school girl outfit into a runway hit. These aren’t your average teenagers. Instead of Wet Seal and Forever 21 these kids go to school in Chanel, Dior, and Burberry.

The first picture features Blake Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen, in a chic outfit and the Burberry Warrior Bag. This leather shoulder bag features a dark silver stud design. Fashion on Film: Bride Wars
Every once in a while, Hollywood graces us with a movie that provides us fashionistas with stunning fashion and enviable style to drool over. The characters are like walking advertisements for the most famous designers. The last movie that I can remember of this stature was “The Devil Wears Prada.” I watched it again recently, and a couple of years later I still love the haute fashion worn in the movie. The next movie for us to look forward to with fabulous fashion is Bride Wars. This movie isn’t based on anything fashion related…but more like brides and weddings, but it features to of Hollywood’s hottest and trendiest actresses, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. I have seen some on the scene shots from this movie and the outfits and accessories are tres chic.
The above picture features a shot from the movie featuring Anne and Kate. They are both carrying two extremely cute bags. Anne’s bag is the Coach Gigi Leather Tote. I found it on Coach.com for $658. Anne’s bag is in the walnut color and also comes in camel and black. It features turnlock details and vintage leather. This bag is roomy and chic and is the perfect everyday bag. It also comes in great colors that can go with almost any outfit.

Kate’s bag is the Tod’s T Bag tote. It features black patent leather and large front pockets that give it a funky appeal. It’s large and roomy and gives your outfit that extra spunk. I found it on saks.com for $1,500. This bag definitely makes Kate’s character look like a stylish diva.

I can’t wait until Bride Wars comes out, not just because I love these actresses but because they give us high expectations of what type of fashion we can look forward to. This should definitely be a fashionista film.

Chanel bags are truly timeless. They have represented luxury and fashion for over 50 years. A 50 year old Chanel bag is more desirable today then it was then. A Chanel bag serves as an antique item…a collectors product, something to hand down to your daughter and granddaughter. Vintage Chanel handbags are some of the most highly demanded products at antique shows and vintage shops. People know that buying a vintage Chanel bag will serve as a highly fashionable product and will be well worth the money. The vintage bags are generally cheaper than brand new ones but are hard to come across.

I came across a few Chanel vintage bags on ebay.com including the bag in the top right that can be purchased for $755.00. I’ve never purchased anything from this seller so I can’t make any guarantees. But the bag looks to be authentic and in good condition.

Clearly, a Chanel bag is a smart investment. You can get 20 years of usage out of it and sell it for almost as much as you paid for it. You can also pass it down to a loved one who would love the bag more than you. Just recently Victoria Beckham was seen shopping at a vintage store in L.A. looking at a vintage Chanel bag…if someone like Victoria—who can have any bag in the world that she wants—is looking at Chanel vintage bags, then you know they are wanted!

So ladies, hold on to your Chanels! Someday you may be able to sell them for a good amount of money or pass them down to your daughters who may covet them more than you.

Hollywood’s New Bag Queen: Eva Longoria Parker
Hollywood has many bag queens…Victoria Beckham, Jessica Simpson, Kate Moss. Now joining the ranks of these elite Hollywood bag queens is Eva Longoria Parker. She has taken her stylish fashion sense from Wisteria Lane off the screen. Whether she is walking her dog, going to a red carpet even, or in France with Tony, she is always seen carrying one of the season’s hottest bags. Her bags are always the perfect touch to her stylish clothes. They match her shoes and compliment her outfits so well.

In an interview with Instyle.com, she revealed the contents of her 133-square foot closet and it included many, many, many bags including a coveted hot pink crocodile Hermes Birkin bag. Of the Birkin bag, her stylist advised her to “wear it with everything” because it was going to be handed down in her will. She’ll have plenty more to hand down in her will. Every day she is seen with a different bag by a different designer…Gucci, Hermes, Dior, you name it, she’s got it. Looks like a new bag queen is in town!

Limited Edition Le Petitpas Wilm Handbag
Katherine Heigl has been spotted all over town this past month sporting a new juicy red bag. (Finally retiring her last couple months everyday-er, the Juicy Couture Patent Leather Lovely Bag). The bag, which honestly left me stumped on determining identification, is by new purse designer Le Petitpas and the bag is called the Wilm. If you go on over to the Le Petitpas website you will see that this is the only bag available (ever made??) by the designer. It’s also only available in the color red with speckled bronze plated hardware. Right now, if you fancy this purse you can discover and purchase the Wilm bag for $1270 on the Le Petitpas official website, however the stock is limited. Only 500 bags were made.

In “Sex & the City: The Movie,” Jennifer Hudson, who plays the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker wears an astonishing assortment of designer bags –a collection large enough to leave all in aye– throughout the film until Bradshaw (SJP) finally asks what everyone has on their mind. Hayden Panettiere’s Kooba Elisha Bow Hobo
What type of bag do you carry when you go grocery shopping? Check out Hayden Panettiere’s bag. Hayden shows off her bag of choice as she picks up stuff from a local grocery store. No it’s not her own HP bag made exclusively for her by Dooney & Bourke, instead, it’s her pretty metallic Kooba Elisha Bow Hobo. What do you all think about this Kooba? Would you wear it? As for me, I adore the metallic leather seen throughout the entire bag (metallics are so hot right now)! The slouchy-ness of this Kooba is acceptable in my book, (I imagine this hobo being so easy and comfortable to use). Comfy, flat, eight inch leather shoulder straps and double side pockets are two key details I definitely approve of. The knotted bow tie found right up front is a nice feature found on the Elisha, without it, this hobo would appear quite simple, i.m.o. The Kooba Elisha measures in at 14”x 12”x 6”, and holds a price tag of $535. Victoria Beckham: The Oscar de la Renta Metallic Python Doctor Bag
It’s hard to believe, but every once in a while Victoria Beckham takes a break from carrying one of her many, many Birkin Bags to tote around a new fabulous handbag. Of course, she never disappoints us. Most recently she has been spotted around L.A. carrying around the Oscar de La Renta Metallic Python Doctor Bag. You have to give Mrs. Beckham major points for constantly looking immaculate, even when taking the kids out. …I’m curious to know if she carries around diapers in that bag?

This bag boasts of gold python and leather with gold and tortoise buckles. I personally love this bag. It’s roomy and fits all the necessities. It can be worn with almost any outfit during any season. Python is a personal favorite of mine. It gives the bag a certain uniqueness and couture look. The metallic makes the bag standout and be a centerpiece of the outfit and the gold buckles are the perfect touch. This is the perfect bag to carry while shopping, going to work, or, if you are Victoria Beckham, taking the kids to gymnastics.

Actress Kate Bosworth recently appeared in her first of a series of print promotions for luxury retailer Coach. Pictured above is the gorgeous Kate, clutching one of Coach’s latest patchwork dome-style bowler bag.

Kate was chosen to be the face of their Spring/Summer 2008 campaign, gracing billboards and print magazine ads.

Carrie Bradshaw: The Salvatore Ferragamo Ostrich Feather Bag
Ok, so we all know that Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw is the ultimate fashionista. She’s always sporting the latest looks by the hottest designers and starting the newest trends. Us fellow fashionista’s have been pretty lonely since the series finale of Sex and the City but have much to look forward to because of the release of the movie this spring. One of Sex and the City’s biggest appeals is the fashion. Fashionistas always anticipate Carrie Bradshaw’s latest shoes or newest funky bag. With the release of the movie creeping up on us, scenes from the movie have hit the internet leaving us all in awe over the fashion.

Miss Carrie Bradshaw was seen in a couple of scenes carrying the Salvatore Ferragamo Ostrich Feather Bag. This is definitely not your average handbag, nor would we expect Carrie Bradshaw to carry the average handbag. It boasts of soft, colorful ostrich feathers, brown leather lining and an ornate gold buckle. Its safe to say that you will not go unnoticed carrying this bad. It is funky, vibrant, and in your face. It is nothing but unique. It can look fantastic with the right outfit but can easily turn into a disaster if accessorized with an already lively outfit. It screams Carrie Bradshaw but does it scream you?

Nicky Hilton & Her Magenta Balenciaga City
It’s no secret that celebrities love Balenciaga, especially the Motorcycle collection. And ever since they made their debut, these bags apparently haven’t lost their “It” label. Though every season does present ‘hot’ colors which are extremely popular and desired by many, including myself. Shown above is Nicky Hilton carrying the City bag in one of this season’s hottest colors, the magenta.

The magenta is so delicious looking, feminine and perfect for the upcoming seasons all in one. This along with Bal’s Electric Blue are my two favs. And I especially adore the city as it holds a nice shape and the size is just perfect for carrying everything you need. What also appeals to me (though this is nothing new) is the wonderful shoulder strap. I love how you can carry it on your arm or throw it over your shoulder to be hands-free.

The City features amazing distressed leather, making each and every one unique, a detachable strap, and hardware that comes in either regular size or giant size. Also included is an attached mirror and featured on the inside and exterior are zippered pockets.
