The Chat: Bold and Colorful Wallets

The House of Chloe is always on the ball when it comes to releasing the latest and hottest accessories in the world of fashion. What’s new on their agenda? Why an attractive new bag for Spring/Summer 09’. You know it’s a hit when you have a collaboration of some of the season’s trendiest details on a single piece. Chloe’s Ethel Tote is the perfect example of this.

You have an arrangement of bold contrasting hues over this bag. Pretty lilac purple lines the whole bodies exterior while rich orange details the top of this roomy bag. While this plays beautifully, stunning oversized gold hardware adds the perfect finish to this tote.

Besides the bold hues, my absolute favorite thing has got to be the rich and smooshy leather of choice for this bag. Smooth lambskin and goat skin make up this Chloe, and you can clearly see the texture of both.

I apologize to any See by Chloe fans out there, but I can’t justify buying any of their overprized accessories, overall, they’re not so impressive. I have yet to run into something I must have, but today, something did catch my attention.

Just check out the killer message found on this pouch. Want to take a wild guess at what the name of this piece is? Yes, you pretty much guessed it; meet the Dance or Die Pouch by SBC. So someone at SBC headquarters threw a joke onto this pouch and I can’t help but wonder if I’m the only one that doesn’t get it? Illustrated on canvas is the message that seems to be coming from a phonograph record player, as if it were music to the owner’s ears. I personally don’t find this attractive, but I do like the variety of colors you can choose from.

You can’t go wrong with a simple canvas accessory, as this piece is. It looks supportive and roomy enough for small essentials. Although I do hate how the $95 price tag is nowhere near convincing; otherwise, these would make really cute gifts.

The Chat: See by Chloe Dance or Die Pouch

Chloe bags never fail to make a statement, whether it’s the use of unique materials or extra bulky hardware, they’re always a hit among celebrities and fashionista’s alike.

Here’s a look I would normally stay away from, reasons being, I’m not sure if I would wear this bag in the long run, or often. I’m referring to the combination of coated canvas and suede exterior. Its admirably pleasant and all, but something tells me this bag is quite delicate. Canvas handbags have never failed me as they tend to be light in weight and resistant to everyday wear, on the other hand, you must be cautious with suede leather handbags, as they stain easily and water is their worst enemy. So what type of weather would you carry this duo in?

I normally prefer extra hardware on my handbags and as we can see here, this one is rather simple. It surprises me how even with a limited amount of “bling”, this shoulder bag still weights in at 3 pounds! Measuring in at 16” x 14.5” x 9”

The Chat: Chloe Two Tone

Here’s proof that even top fashion designers come up with the most horrid designs every once in a while. I say they’re purposely done for attention, and clearly, it’s working. This catastrophe known as the SBC Shopping Bag is for the See by Chloe line and lets just say that this is no candidate for the next IT bag. My first though was, what is going on here? My second, who would wear this? I can’t imagine the typical Bagista’s accessorizing with something so odd, and to you gals who are fans of this piece; good for you, as finding duplicates of this shopper seems nearly impossible!

The most interesting part of this has got to be the insanely high price tag of $595! Overpriced? Possibly. Although the exterior lining of choice turns out to be fine lambskin, in which we all know never runs cheap in the World of Fashion.

17” x 11.5” x 5.5” seem to be the dimensions to this bag and if your in search for out of the ordinary, the SBC shopper could be the one. Interested? I suggest you wait until it hits the sales rack, or you can purchase this now over at: Bloomingdales.com

Is it just me? Or is Navy Blue making a comeback in the world on handbags? Chloé certainly seems to think so! Meet the Kathleen Shoulder Bag! Now no offense to anyone out there, but for some reason I used to always associate navy with grandma. Why? Well, for some reason my grandma liked to carry around a navy handbag that matched her navy shoes that matched her navy belt that matched her… well, you get the picture. But you know what, I’m actually starting to warm up to the whole navy handbag thing. It can be such a pretty color, like a clear night sky in the summer time. However, for a bit of a modern twist, I would pair this handbag with black accessories (as seen on the model). As for the gold hardware, I think it looks marvelously chic with this color. What a great bag to wear to the office when you’re just not in the mood for the usual black or brown handbag! Fashion shows are always electrifying, and although the whole concept is fun, I always look forward to the hip runway music and of course, the handbags! The presentation of the latest runway bags is always exciting, as you never really know what to expect. Each season, the limited pieces are either amazing or awkward and something you couldn’t possibly invest on. The House of Chloé presents us Bagista’s with the Chain Link Shoulder Bag, and obviously it isn’t too limited, as you can purchase this piece via the internet at, Net-A-Porter. Mauve leather, stone detailing, gold hardware, and exotic python leather dyed purple, collaborate to form this couture shoulder bag. Personally, this is something I wouldn’t get much wear out of as A.) It’s too small to sport everyday and B.) I really don’t go to many formal events. Although I will admit that this little gem sure is pretty, I do find it quite busy as well. Pretty does cost, as this mini handbag will cost you a whooping $3,805!!! Ladies, what’s your input on this Chloé, and how many of you gals would actually spend so much on such a small piece?
