I’m experiencing a bit of déjà vu here. It seems like I was just talking about the Fendi Peekaboo Tote. Wait… I was just talking about the Fendi Peekaboo Tote over at Bag Bliss last month! But here it is again (in all its glory), hanging from the arm of Blake Lively! The Gossip Girl was spotted outside the studio where she had been shooting the first few episodes of the show’s fourth season. So what’s so special about Blake’s Fendi Peekaboo Tote? Her bag is the ultra gorgeous all-python version. Yowza! Now that is one gorgeous bag! And one major investment piece! Well, at least the style is super practical. I really like the double compartment design, it’s perfect for keeping your things organized. Plus it looks awesome with Blake’s outfit. Although I’m not sure if I can forgive her for wearing Pepto-pink, super wide-leg pants. Yikes! I guess I should be thankful that she is at least color-coordinated.

Blake’s version of the Fendi Peekaboo Tote sells for well over $5,000. But you can find other, more reasonably priced versions of this lovely bag at Nordstrom.

All my life, I’ve been a devotee to leather handbags. Only straying to fabric bags for the good old diaper bag or beach bag and perhaps a utilitarian tote. I turned up my nose at canvas, satin, nylon and other non-leather bags. Oh, yes! I was a snob about Prada nylon too! I now have to apologize, admit I was small-minded and must re-frame my opinions! There are so many great new (and durable) fabrics in handbags that deserve a second look. Designers that were entrenched in leather now embrace nylon and other materials. It could be that they were simply looking for less expensive alternatives than leather or even more eco-friendly materials, but I believe they’d made some great design choices as well!

Yes, the classic Muse bag is now available in nylon! Same great shape and style for $1195. The leather version is $1550. Not a significant different, but it looks great just the same! Perhaps you can pick up a great pair of sandals for the difference?

A good friend of mine swears every time she takes her Speedy out with her, she runs into fabulous deals and sales. I’m not sure if I necessarily deem a handbag can bring you good fortune, but apparently the House of Fendi believes so. Have any of you gals own a piece you consider to be lucky or somehow magical? If you don’t and you’d like to contemplate searching for a luck full addition to your collection, the ‘Roll’ Canvas tote might be a great piece to discover.
