New Designer Man Bags / Mags / Murses @ Saks

Man Bag, Mag, or simply Travel & Luggage. Whichever you choose to call it, men all around the world are preferring to carry their essentials in a roomier compartment other than their pant pockets. In my area, the messenger styled bag wins the popularity contest, and over at Saks (dot com), they carry even more styles to choose from.
Up first is the messenger styled bag, the Prada way. Prada presents their version as causal and definitely masculine. I really like the combination of Prada nylon with rich leather and the variety of colors are appealing, yet allow this piece to match with almost anything.
For the trendy man, Gucci presents their latest duffle in one of the hottest colors right now, Cobalt. It’s got double handles, vertical zippers, and silver tone hardware, and seriously, how striking is that hue!
Got a crave for logos? Gucci’s classic GG logoed duffle gets a makeover with vintage inspired orange/khaki/white leather trims. Luggage tag, removable strap, lock and keys are included with this piece.
Last but not least, the perfect accessory for Mr. Sophisticated. Yves Saint Laurent presents the Muse Travel Bag and wow is it gorgeous! It’s rich, large, and made of Buffalo leather. Yeah, I won’t be surprised if some of you gals pick this up for yourself… you know… to travel and stuff.

Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote

Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote
Recently I posted about the Botkier Metallic Large Jackie Hobo, which comes in Pewter Snake. To be honest, I love the metallic and I love the snakeskin print. Yes, I know. Snakeskin creeps people out. Well I came across this handbag pictured above today, and I can safely say that this one DOES creep me out. Introducing the Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote. This bag is constructed of genuine python leather and it is brand new for this upcoming season. I love the shape of this bag. I also love the pleats and the contrasting leather handles and trim. But for some reason, that python leather just sends chills down my spine. The strange thing is, I really like the look of snakeskin. But for some reason, I just do not find this bag appealing. Perhaps it is the color. Or it’s the snake’s natural pattern showing though. Or, it’s that jaw-dropping price tag (hey, it is real python). Or maybe I just have a soft spot for our scaly friends. I’m really not sure what it is. But for now, this bagista is going to be sticking with her snakeskin print leather bags for awhile. Sorry Gucci! So, ladies, how do you feel about the Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote?
The Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote measures 16.5″ x 13″ x 6″ and comes complete with a Gucci Logo key chain. It is available in Beige and it retails for (holy cow!) $3,195.

GUCCI Nylon “Beach” Tote

GUCCI Nylon “Beach” Tote
Look at what I found today! If it weren’t for the title letting you know that this piece is by Gucci, I bet you would have never guessed it yourself. Hmm… a nylon tote sporting colorful kiddy designs and leather trimming, does Dooney & Bourke ring a bell? Among the clutter you will find stars, fish, florals, mermaids, waves, shells, birds, butterflies, BEACH, and this list can keep on going… Umm… I don’t know what to say to this. This is upsetting coming from the House of Gucci. With designs like these, I can’t help but wonder if Gucci recruited some Dooney & Bourke “geniuses” to work for them. This is tacky, juvenile, and definitely something I would not want to carry this fall/winter season. One simple leather shoulder strap and logoed identification tags can be found on this tote as well. A $795 price tag for a brand new Gucci sounds fantastic, but in reference to this silly piece, $795 is extremely over exaggerating when Dooney & Bourke offers similar pieces for more than half of Gucci’s asking price. What do you Bagista’s have to say over this tote, and most importantly, would you wear this?

Gucci Tribeca Medium Shoulder Bag

Gucci Tribeca Medium Shoulder Bag
Let’s go back in time to the 60’s with Gucci! Ok… maybe that wasn’t their intention with this new fall edition, but seriously, take at look at the Tribeca Medium Shoulder Bag. Umm… what was Gucci thinking? I understand they seek the vintage boho look for the season, but this scheme is done so wrong! Recently, Gucci has been found guilty in throwing odd “stuff” onto their designs. Can you recall their strange Babouska line and the flower-picking rabbits they recently presented to the fashion world this season? The only likes I find on this piece would be the rich smooth leather and the fact that this is Gucci. I dislike the tassels, the heart-shaped crest; and the messenger style of this particular design is boring. Unfortunately, the $1,395 price tag is nowhere near convincing, either. In reference to the tattoo, did Gucci get inspired off of artist and fashion designer Ed Hardy? I haven’t heard of any inked goods and accessories craze other than for Mr. Hardy, and to be honest, I’m not impressed with Gucci’s tattoo design. Ladies, what’s your input on the Tribeca Shoulder Bag, and most importantly, would you wear this?

Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase

Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase
Doing some holiday traveling this year? Unfortunately, traveling over the holidays is not in the cards for me this year. But for some reason, I never seem to pass up the opportunity to look at new suitcases. I like the idea of having a suitcase that is stylish, yet not overwhelmingly feminine. The reason for this, do you ask? As childish as this may seem, it is mostly because of my husband. If I don’t want to get stuck lugging around all the bags, then they better not be covered it a cute little print! Granted, I can understand him being embarrassed if a suitcase he is holding was covered in, say, a Hello Kitty print. But anything even remotely feminine seems to send him running for the hills… or at least our gate at the airport.
So I spotted this suitcase over at Bluefly and I think it has many of the qualities I am looking for in a unisex carry-on. Meet the Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase. It is sleek, stylish, and in a neutral color (dark gray). Plus is has some great features such as a file pocket, retractable handle, and wheels. Unfortunately, this suitcase is not perfect. What I dislike most about it is its price tag. Even on sale, the Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase costs about as much as the slightly larger Louis Vuitton Pegase 50. And if given the choice, I would pick a Louis Vuitton over a Gucci any day. Sorry Gucci!
The Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase measures 13″ x 15″ x 6″ and has a 16″ retractable handle. Find it at Bluefly where it is currently priced at $1,912.

Gucci Large Babouska Hobo Purse

Gucci Large Babouska Hobo Purse
The House of Gucci definitely gave their 100% effort, and more, to stand out from all the other premium designers for this coming fall season. Have you Bagista’s seen their latest designs? All I have to say is… wow! Personally speaking, my wow is actually an “amazed-at-how-much-detail-and-studding-was-applied-to-their-goods”, wow. Check out their collection over at Saks (dot com). Pictured above is just one of the many new accessories by Gucci, meet the Large Babouska Hobo. To break it down a bit, it’s basically a simple monogrammed classic hobo with some dangling suede fringe and a couple of pounds of brass studding appliqué. I don’t know what you ladies think about this Babouska collection, but it’s a bit too tacky for my taste. You see, I can do monogram, but not monogram with constant layers of studs! I do dig the heart-shaped Gucci crest (which happens to be a Gucci newbie for quite some time) and the seventeen by fifteen inch dimension of the hobo is also suitable for my daily needs. Now, I don’t completely dislike Gucci’s Babouska line and I can see how some ladies would choose to carry a piece of this line, but when it comes to my personal preferences, I would much rather prefer something a bit less flashy, and lighter in weight!
Gucci Hysteria Purse in Magenta!

Gucci Hysteria Purse in Magenta!
If you fashionista’s don’t already know, right now over at Saks Fifth Avenue there is yet another big sale which includes incredible prices on premium designer goods! Unfortunately, this pretty gem cannot be found on Saks’ sales rack (I wish), but it is available for its original retail price tag of $1,650. If you don’t already know, this is the Small Hysteria Top Handle Bag by Gucci. How do you ladies feel towards this bag? Personally, I love it. I adore the whole leather body and how it gathers in pleat-form from the bottom to the top. It’s double flat leather handles benefit in carrying the bag on the crook of your arm, or if you prefer free hands, its detachable leather shoulder strap should come in handy. I like how perfectly the gold-toned hardware compliments the gorgeous leather hue. Those metal crests add the perfect touch and finish the bag off with just the right amount of “bling”, without the bag appearing “tacky”. As I briefly mentioned, the color is amazing and perfect for fall. Overall, I hold nothing but positive feelings towards this classy looking Gucci, dressed up or dressed down, its sure to make some heads turn.

Designer Deals: 30% + Off of Some of Your Favorite Designer Bags
Not all of us can stop into our favorite designer store and spend a couple grand on a fabulous new handbag every time we go shopping. Many of us have to save up for a while and when we do get that bag we covet it. Since these bags aren’t just being sent to our front doors as gifts, we want to find the best deals we can on them. I decided to take a look on Overstock.com because I have found some great deals on designer handbags on that site. I looked through their selection and these were my favorite two:
The first bag on the left is the Gucci White Leather Aviatrix Boston Bag. This was one of my favorites because it is perfect for the summer. I saw this bag when it first came out and I thought it was pretty fierce. It originally retailed at $2,450.00, but on Overstock.com you can get it at 31% off for $1,699.90. That is a savings of $750.10! For most of us that is a lot to save…and better yet, can buy us an extra handbag or pair of shoes!
The second bag on the right is the Jimmy Choo Burgundy Ramona Leather Shoulder Bag. This bag is great because everyone needs a red leather bag in their closet. Red bags are just so versatile that you can’t miss out. This bag is the perfect red bag because it can go with almost any outfit and can be dressed up or dressed down. It is the perfect everyday bag and will last you beyond one season. This bag was originally $3,400.00 but is now $1,999.99…that is a whopping 41% off. That’s a saving of $1,400.00! Yes $1,400.00!! Do you know how much you can buy with $1,400.00?? Ladies, I don’t think it would hurt for us to wait it out a little longer so that we can get deals and savings like this.
