It’s that time of year again! The leaves have fallen and the weather is turning colder. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas will be here before we know it! Oh my, where has the year gone? It seems like just yesterday that I was having to remember to write 09, instead of 08, when writing the date on my checks.

With the days passing by so quickly, it may be a good idea to start thinking of potential Christmas gifts for that special someone. Nothing, in my opinion, is worse than waiting until the last minute. So what do you think ladies? Would your significant other enjoy a new wallet this year? Personally, I think my husband could use a new one. Of course, he would probably disagree with that. Something can be completely worn out and he will still refuse to get rid of it. There’s something about the color yellow that has me eyeing everything found in that shade. Of course I mean accessory wise, and more than anything, I want a great leather bag in sunny yellow this season.

Designers such as Yves Saint Laurent (check out the Muse in Topaz) and now Gucci have released cheery shades of yellow handbags for their fall collections.

Gucci’s version is the New Pelham Large Shoulder Bag, and although you can find yellow leather on it, the majority of this tote is made out of natural straw. That’s a pretty strange decision for a Fall/Winter bag if you ask me, but regardless, it’s still pretty.

It’s more natural than yellow tone isn’t necessarily what I’m looking for to feed my crave, but I still have to give it up to it’s comfortable looking design which carries a low key horse bit detail on it.

This tote bag features double rolled shoulder straps, polished brass hardware, and feet at the base to protect your straw. Perhaps the cold winter season isn’t the best time around to take a straw handbag out, but you can always store this pretty in your closet as you anticipate the arrival of Spring.

Attention Gucci-addicts, you must head on over to Saks (dot com) to take a peek at the latest styles for fall 09’. For the past couple of seasons, I’ve been on the fence regarding Gucci’s collection; some stuff was so-so, while other goods were shockingly awkward. I must say Gucci has got me second looking some of their newbie’s this time around, such as the Medium Icon Shoulder Bag. If you’re in search of the perfect black handbag, this one might be it.

What makes this piece different from any other black handbag? The gorgeous ruthenium hardware found on this piece allows comfortable wear through your gold or silver toned jewelry’s, so you can gladly put an end to the need to match your handbags hardware to your style. The roundish crescent like shape of the hobo is pleasant, especially with its feminine pleated details. Digging through your bag isn’t necessary, as the wide zipper opening which folds all the way back, allows a considerable view of what’s in your bag, and both shoulder and across the body leather straps are conveniently found on this Gucci as well. I personally adore the style, and I can totally see myself carrying this piece from day to night.

If you prefer something bolder than black leather, Gucci’s Icon Shoulder bag’s can also be found in patent leathers, colorful shades of suede, or in timeless monogram fabrics.

I have a huge fear of amphibians, bugs, and reptiles. Pretty much if it lives outside in the dirt, grass or trees I do not like it. But, when a handbag is made of snakeskin I absolutely love it! I’m guessing because of the fact it’s dead and can’t hurt me, I’m fine with it. Plus we can’t forget the fact, that snakeskin handbags are gorgeous but also very expensive.

The Gucci Large Jockey Python Hobo Bag is nothing less than amazing. It’s black, beautiful, and made of genuine python skin. I love how the golden stud accents compliment the handbag making it look even more stunning.

If I owned this handbag, I would probably only take it out of it’s dust bag for special occasions. Since the handbag is made of python skin, it most likely is very fragile. Usually when a handbag is made of any type of genuine snakeskin, it tends to flake after so much usage. You really have to take care of a snakeskin bag when you have one, because once it flakes they just never seem to look the same again.

The Gucci Large Jockey Python Hobo Bag can be purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue for $3,295. Being that the handbag is pretty much dressed in python skin, a high price was expected.

High price or not, when a handbag is this stunning who can resist? If you have the cash to purchase this handbag, you can’t go wrong. This handbag would be the “queen” in any handbag collection.

Man Bag, Mag, or simply Travel & Luggage. Whichever you choose to call it, men all around the world are preferring to carry their essentials in a roomier compartment other than their pant pockets. In my area, the messenger styled bag wins the popularity contest, and over at Saks (dot com), they carry even more styles to choose from.

Up first is the messenger styled bag, the Prada way. Prada presents their version as causal and definitely masculine. I really like the combination of Prada nylon with rich leather and the variety of colors are appealing, yet allow this piece to match with almost anything.

For the trendy man, Gucci presents their latest duffle in one of the hottest colors right now, Cobalt. It’s got double handles, vertical zippers, and silver tone hardware, and seriously, how striking is that hue!

Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote
Recently I posted about the Botkier Metallic Large Jackie Hobo, which comes in Pewter Snake. To be honest, I love the metallic and I love the snakeskin print. Yes, I know. Snakeskin creeps people out. Well I came across this handbag pictured above today, and I can safely say that this one DOES creep me out. Introducing the Gucci Sukey Large Python Tote. This bag is constructed of genuine python leather and it is brand new for this upcoming season. I love the shape of this bag. I also love the pleats and the contrasting leather handles and trim. But for some reason, that python leather just sends chills down my spine. The strange thing is, I really like the look of snakeskin. But for some reason, I just do not find this bag appealing. Perhaps it is the color. Or it’s the snake’s natural pattern showing though. Or, it’s that jaw-dropping price tag (hey, it is real python). Or maybe I just have a soft spot for our scaly friends. I’m really not sure what it is. But for now, this bagista is going to be sticking with her snakeskin print leather bags for awhile. Sorry Gucci!
