Designer Deals: 30% + Off of Some of Your Favorite Designer Bags
Not all of us can stop into our favorite designer store and spend a couple grand on a fabulous new handbag every time we go shopping. Many of us have to save up for a while and when we do get that bag we covet it. Since these bags aren’t just being sent to our front doors as gifts, we want to find the best deals we can on them. I decided to take a look on Overstock.com because I have found some great deals on designer handbags on that site. I looked through their selection and these were my favorite two:

The first bag on the left is the Gucci White Leather Aviatrix Boston Bag. This was one of my favorites because it is perfect for the summer. That is a savings of $750.10! For most of us that is a lot to save…and better yet, can buy us an extra handbag or pair of shoes!

The second bag on the right is the Jimmy Choo Burgundy Ramona Leather Shoulder Bag. This bag is great because everyone needs a red leather bag in their closet. Red bags are just so versatile that you can’t miss out. This bag is the perfect red bag because it can go with almost any outfit and can be dressed up or dressed down. It is the perfect everyday bag and will last you beyond one season. This bag was originally $3,400.00 but is now $1,999.99…that is a whopping 41% off. That’s a saving of $1,400.00! Yes $1,400.00!! Do you know how much you can buy with $1,400.00?? Ladies, I don’t think it would hurt for us to wait it out a little longer so that we can get deals and savings like this.

Hollywood’s New Bag Queen: Eva Longoria Parker
Hollywood has many bag queens…Victoria Beckham, Jessica Simpson, Kate Moss. Now joining the ranks of these elite Hollywood bag queens is Eva Longoria Parker. She has taken her stylish fashion sense from Wisteria Lane off the screen. Whether she is walking her dog, going to a red carpet even, or in France with Tony, she is always seen carrying one of the season’s hottest bags. Her bags are always the perfect touch to her stylish clothes. They match her shoes and compliment her outfits so well.

In an interview with Instyle.com, she revealed the contents of her 133-square foot closet and it included many, many, many bags including a coveted hot pink crocodile Hermes Birkin bag. Of the Birkin bag, her stylist advised her to “wear it with everything” because it was going to be handed down in her will. She’ll have plenty more to hand down in her will. Every day she is seen with a different bag by a different designer…Gucci, Hermes, Dior, you name it, she’s got it. Looks like a new bag queen is in town!

Gucci Joy Boston Bag (With Flower Detail)
Inspired by Deysa’s post about Juicy Couture’s Beach Flower Tote, I decided to do my own post on a flower-appliquéd handbag. I came across this Gucci Joy Boston Bag pictured above. This bag features the classic GG signature pattern in white with black crocodile trim. I find the black and white aspect of the bag quite appealing actually. However, for some reason, Gucci felt it would be a good idea to embellish this bag with pinwheel-like flowers and grommets. Perhaps an elegant floral pattern printed directly on the fabric would have been a better choice.

Funny Side-Note: Over at the Bag Forum the other day, we were discussing - or rather, joking - about how Gucci likes to have a zillion different bags with the same name. The Gucci Joy Boston Bag pictured above is one of several bags all named the Joy Boston Bag. Why isn’t there any distinction between them? Who knows, but it does make things rather confusing when trying to do a web search for a particular Gucci style.

Gucci Heart Coin Purse
Continuing with the Valentine’s Day bag theme post - meet the adorable heart shaped coin purse by Gucci. So cute isn’t it? It’s a lot like the Louis Vuitton monogram heart coin purse, but this one is larger plus the retail price is so much more reasonable. You get more for your hard earned buck. This little guy measures in at 4″ length x 3.5″ height and retails for $200 on the Gucci site. And since it’s a website exclusive you can only get it there. Right now, the beige/ebony with white leather trim and light blue-ish silver with silver trim is in stock.

A new Gucci: Handbags by Designer Alessandra Gucci
What to watch for in the coming seasons: A new designer handbag line, by Alessandra Gucci, daughter of the late Maurizio Gucci.

WWD reports: The young Alessandra, with an economics degree under her belt, is launching a limited edition collection of luxury handbags in alligator under the AG brand and a logo featuring two unicorns facing one another. The collection, which is made by artisans in Tuscany, comprises three models in pink, jungle and blue named after her father, her grandfather Rodolfo and herself. Noticeably absent from the list is her mother, Patrizia Reggiani, convicted for having commissioned the murder of Maurizio Gucci in 1995. Also absent is any mention of the Gucci name on the products — the brand has for years taken fierce legal action against family members who attempt to launch their own brands referencing their surname.

Designer Mini Gucci Indy Bag
And here we have the latest shrunk down version of the Gucci Indy bag. The original Indy bag made its first smashing debut last year and due to popularity, Gucci has released this mini version.

The newest petite edition is identical to its bigger sister, except for the oversized tassels, which seem to have not been altered in the process and remain full sized.

The Mini Indy pictured above is currently available at Saks Fifth Avenue in the classic signature price: black / black or beige / ebony GG canvas. Also features light gold hardware, jumbo tassel with bamboo detailing and leather trim. This bag comes with double carrying options: solid curved handle plus a detachable shoulder strap that are both long enough to be worn over the shoulder.

Designer Gucci Hearts New York Handbag Collection
Come February, Gucci will be opening their doors to the world’s largest, brand new Flagship Store over at 725 Fifth Avenue. For the new boutique, the brands creative director Frida Giannini has designed a selection of exclusive products named “Gucci Hearts NY,” that are to be sold exclusively at the new location.

Here’s a snippet from FWD:

The first collection, “Gucci Hearts NY,” is an ode to the city, where Gucci first opened its doors in 1953. Giannini has taken Gucci’s iconic webbing and its GG pattern canvas and reinterpreted them in white, shiny GG canvas complemented by bold red and royal blue stripes. The “Gucci Hearts NY” moniker, which uses Guccio Gucci’s iconic signature, has been irreverently stamped across the fabric.

Among the product offerings in this category are the Joy handbag, offered in three different sizes, as well as a silk scarf, priced from $320 to $770. While on set of Wild Child (a movie about a rebellious Malibu princess that is shipped off to a strict English boarding school), it’s American Actress and niece of Julia Roberts, little Miss Emma Roberts.

WWD: Top 12 Designer Handbag Brands of 2007
WWD recently published their top 12 picks for 2007, and I am so disappointed. I mean who did they interview? Label whores? When I think of last years best sellers, or even memorable bags that could have been found on the lists of thousands of handbag fans, I wouldn’t pick a bag by some of the designers below. Coach number 1? How can that be. And Ralph Lauren? The only bag that comes to mind is the birkin-looking Ricky bag. I have nothing against the brands below, I’m a fan of a couple, but I don’t think this list is very accurate.

The Gucci Shoppers Tote
What’s in the bag? Gucci’s newly discounted tote will catch everyone’s attention with its simple design and bold “Gucci” signature.. because it looks like a shopping sack. I’m not one to jump on the trend of toting around large totes that look to resemble a freebie designer goody bag that you would get as a gift or a shopping sack because they always end up on the sale shelves. Remember Marc Jacobs Leather Shopper Tote.

What do you guys think? A yay or a nay?

Celebrity eBay Alert: Tori Spelling’s Vintage Gucci Clutch
It was heard all over the news last year.. when Tori Spelling’s super-rich father passed away, he left her with nothing and gave it all to her (evil) stepmother. Where did this leave her? Broke (rich type of broke). She then hired long-time friend Sharon Yost to help auction off part of personal designer wardrobe on eBay. And here we have celebrity eBay item of the day. Tori Spelling’s Vintage Gucci oversized clutch is up for grabs.

Tori’s vintage Gucci is dressed in white leather and features the big eye-catching signature gold double G. This bag is a true statement essential that will never go out style. The measurements of this simple purse are approximately 7” height x 11” length x 1” width.

The condition of this vintage clutch is gently loved, where it shows some sign of wear, several visible soil stains, couple of the stains look like nail polish or lipstick (located mostly in the interior), these stains might come off when cleaned. But really, this bag is vintage, which is to be expected.

So far so good, now just wait until I tell you the price, you will be stunned and tempted. Right now this simple white Gucci clutch is going for only $177.50!! And there is less than 24 hours left. So whoever gets this gem is going to get it for a decent price.
