Louis Vuitton Metallic Mahina XS Purse

May 4, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Louis Vuitton Metallic Mahina XS Purse
Metallics are so fun, especially when they are found on a handbag. A metallic bag never fails to spice up an outfit, they always seem to give off the perfect amount of twinkle. They can also be worn year round, day or night, and they seem to never go out of style. I spotted this lovely at my local mall today, the gorgeous, Metallic Mahina XS by Louis Vuittton. I bet many of you bagistas are familiar with the Mahina, right? It’s that LV line in which their accessories sport luscious calfskin leather perforating just the perfect amount of logos.

The house of Vuitton recently released the XS version of the Mahina, which happens to be my favorite size. Not only was the “fun-size” released, but its line was also redone in pretty metallic leather. Antiqued hardware, an adjustable shoulder strap, pleats and buckles are many of the nice features found on this handbag. What do you bloggers think about the Metallic Mahina XS? Also, do you prefer the silver or bronze version? Overall, I love the bag, and if I had the 3K to drop on a handbag, the metallic Mahina would definitely be listed on my difficult choice-list.

Louis Vuitton Palermo PM Bag

April 23, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alicia

Louis Vuitton Palermo PM Bag
Recently, I was able to make my way over to NYC, and to Louis Vuitton of course. Within the bag choices that I was finally able to come down to, the Palermo PM was one that I was leaning towards. I loved how functional it is - wear it as a handbag or easily throw it over your shoulder with the detachable strap. Also, I was looking for a larger bag that didn’t look like luggage for trips and times when I need to carry more. So this one was at the top of my list of options.

When I was finally able to see the bag, it wasn’t as appealing to me as it was from seeing it online. To start, I thought the pleat in the front was cute and all, but I wasn’t exactly sure if it would disqualify the bag from joining the rest of the LV classics later on down the road. What can I say? I’m a sucker for anything classic, so I’ve recently learned. The next thing that bothered me was the extremely wide bottom. It looked odd when I tried it on because the bottom just stuck out, making it feel too structured or something. Also, the fact that the canvas on the bag seemed stiff compared to other LV bags didn’t exactly add any comfort or flow. So overall, I wasn’t as impressed with the Palermo as I expected to be. I mean, yeah, it’s definitely functional and it is easier to maintain because there is no vachetta bottom.

The Limited Louis Vuitton Fabrizio Plessi Epi Bag

April 14, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Jennifer

The Limited Louis Vuitton Fabrizio Plessi Epi Bag
Earlier this month Louis Vuitton opened up their new largest flapship store over in Hong Kong. For the new store, artist Fabrizio Plessi (a pioneer in video art in Europe), decorated Hong Kong’s new store with huge LED screens that feature molten gold cascading along side golden fixtures & walls. That’s not all for Fabrizio Plessi. The artist even collaborated with LV to create the Plessi digital bag (pictured above). Done in black epi leather, the bag has an LCD screen showing images of the same molten gold image through a cutout LV logo.

This bag is obviously a collectors item, reserved for only the rich and famous. This purse retails for (get ready,) a staggering $50,000 (us).

If your average purse budget can’t afford this limited edition style, don’t get your hopes up, Louis Vuitton has the almost identical Sac Plat tote in black Epi for only $1,290 over @ eluxury

… I really do mean almost identical. Pretty much it’s the same Louis Vuitton sac plat minus being touched by Fabrizio and featuring the LCD screen, also of course the price is hugely different.

I really like the Sac Plat style. It’s a great everyday style. It’s the orginal shopping companion. The Sac Plat was created back in 1968, it was the first bag by Louis Vuitton dedicated to shopping. The size measures in at 14.3″ x 14.9″ x 3.5″. Which is ideal for shopping. Who wants a bulgy bag getting in their way?

For more information on the video art Plessi bag contact Hong Kong’s Canton Road location @ (852)8100.1182

Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Beverly GM

April 11, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alica

Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Beverly GM
Finally, there is a new addition to the Louis Vuitton Multicolore collection. The Beverly bag, which first made it’s debut in classic monogram, is now readily available in white or black multicolore and with a few new updated details. The original Beverly GM featured wide, thick shoulder straps whereas the new MC version has thin rolled leather straps. And these straps are attached by hexagonal leather pieces in contrast to the original ovalish shapes. Also, the vachetta trim is shaped differently and there are wonderful new hardware details on the leather pieces.

I’m definitely a fan of the MC line by Louis Vuitton. I love how they made the Beverly GM into a MC piece. And what I also love is the gold buckle in the front, especially combined with the monogram multicolore. In my opinion, the MC Beverly will end up becoming more of a classic like the MC Speedy. I don’t see anything overly trendy about this bag. I think the shape is elegant and the colors are feminine and fun. It also comes in a smaller size, and I must say that I’d pick the GM over it. Although the GM is huge for me, I think the overall shape is much more lovely than the Beverly MM. But anyways, you can buy this MC newbie for a price of $2,000. So, what do you think about the new Monofram Multicolore Beverly bag by Louis Vuitton?

Louis Vuitton Tahitienne Purse Collection

April 7, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: BrS
Remember the “Big City After Dark” Exhibit?

Louis Vuitton Tahitienne Purse Collection
Well, the wait has finally ended for the Tahitienne Collection! And it gets even better! These bags are available in four different colors in two sizes! Check them out:
These new Tahitienne bags are pretty cool, aren’t they? They are so versatile because of their hook closures. The opening can either be hooked together (like the way they are shown above) to give it that trapezoid shape OR they can be left unhooked with the corners pointing out (resulting in a more traditional rectangular shaped tote). I also love the print on these bags! It is so whimsical and summery looking. Yep, you guessed it! I am thinking these bags would make great beach totes (or even shopping totes). The lining is absolutely adorable as well! And where did the inspiration for this print come from? According to Louis Vuitton’s website, the print was inspired by a catalogue published back in 1924.

Now this does all sound too good to be true, doesn’t it? I mean, a really cute canvas bag created by Louis Vuitton that is absolutely perfect for Spring/Summer. So what’s the catch? You probably already know where I’m going with this, but I’m going to tell you anyway. Yep, its that darn price tag. The prices for the Tahitienne Collection range from $1,000 to $1,160. These bags are comparable in size to the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bags and yet they cost approximately $400-$500 more. Why? It seems to me that they are a bit overpriced, especially since they scream “Casual Summer Tote”. But I suppose, this has been becoming a pattern lately with Louis Vuitton.

Well, here are the specs anyway:
Hook Closure
Cell phone pocket, interior zippered pocket, and D-ring
Adjustable straps
Protective Base Studs
Two sizes: PM (6.7″ x 10.6″ x 16.5″) and GM (8.3″ x 13.8″ x 20.8″)
Four colors: Lilac, Menthe, Pink, Sandy

Available on Louis Vuitton’s official website. Check them out here: Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton is also sold at eluxury

Louis Vuitton Galliera available on eLuxury, now!

April 7, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Louis Vuitton Galliera available on eLuxury, now!
As many of you bag-addicts already know, Louis Vuitton just released it’s latest addition to their monogram collection, the Galliera, which is available in PM and GM sizes. For all you ladies interested in snatching up this handbag, hurry on over and buy it now via Vuitton’s website, or eLuxury (dot com). Is anyone in here in search of a classic monogram tote? If so, I definitely suggest the Galliera. First of all, it has that easy to wear design. The Galliera features an open top for easy access, a lengthy flat cowhide shoulder strap, (adjustable shoulder strap found on GM size only) and brass feet to prevent your bags bottom from scuffing. Its overall shape isn’t really “tote-ish” or too stiff; instead, it’s a nicely curved hobo. The Galliera (at the moment), can only be found in the monogram canvas line, so if you’re not a fan of the popular “LV’s”, you might want pass on the Galliera, or wait to see if Vuitton plans to release it in a different LV pattern. Some bonus details found on the Galliera are the interior soft microfiber lining, and that pretty gold inventeur plate. Although I give Vuitton’s Galliera a thumb up, I feel the PM version gets more credit in my book, it just seems like a more practical everyday bag, imo.

Get your Galliera here before its gone: @ eluxury

Louis Vuitton Mahina XS Bag

March 27, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: BrS

Louis Vuitton Mahina XS Bag
Way back in October, Jennifer posted about the Louis Vuitton Mahina Bags (XL and XXL). These gorgeous bags feature the perforated LV monogram pattern, very similar in appearance to the earlier Onatah Collection. Interestingly, the Louis Vuitton Mahina Collection is named after a Polynesian Lunar Deity.

Back then, however, only the XL and XXL sizes were available. These bags are wonderful, but my goodness, they are HUGE! So what if you like this collection, but you are looking for a more “normal” sized bag? Well, if this sounds like you, then you’re in luck! The Mahina XS is here and its even available in metallics! Its the perfect size to use as an everyday bag when you don’t need to carry everything including the kitchen sink!

Here’s the specs:
- Soft and supple calf leather
- Shiny golden brass hardware
- Belted leather shoulder strap with link attachments
- Buckled bands at each side create subtle gathers and adjust bag capacity
- Zip top with banded push-lock closure
- Interior flat pocket, cell phone pocket, and D-ring
- Protective metal feet
- Measures 16.8″x 10.1″x 4.7″
- Retails for $2,780.00 - $2,940.00
- Available in White (Perfect for Spring/Summer), Black, Silver, and Bronze

The Louis Vuitton Mahina XS is available at Eluxury. They seem to sell out and then get restocked again on a regular basis, so you have to keep an eye out for it. Check it out here: at eLUXURY

Vintage Steamer Trunks: Louis Vuitton vs Free People

March 24, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: BrS

Vintage Steamer Trunks: Louis Vuitton vs Free People
The Vintage Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk has been a hot item on ebay lately. In fact, they have been so popular that people are willing to pay as much as $8,000 for a complete trunk (e.g. the drawers and hangers are present). Certainly these people don’t intend to actually use these trunks for traveling. So what are they doing with them? Are they simply collector’s pieces or are they being showcased as antique furniture in one’s bedroom? Yep, those Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunks are pretty cool! I think it would be awesome to have one sitting in my house, just as a conversation piece!

So what do you do if you like the idea of a steamer trunk, but you don’t want to fork over the 8 grand for it? Well, Free People has recently come out with this vintage-inspired steamer trunk (pictured above on the right). Free People says that this trunk is “a more feminine interpretation of the classic early 1920’s steamer trunk”. Feminine is right! The trunk’s exterior is covered with a patchwork of floral fabrics. And it’s interior? The trunk is lined with hot pink satin. The body of the trunk is composed of heavy-duty plywood, while the trim pieces are made of Burmese teak. The trunk is large, measuring 23 1/2″ x 23 1/2″ x 46″ and it retails for $2,700.

Personally, I think the trunk is cute in its own quirky way. But the $2,700 price tag seems to be a bit of a stretch for an item that would have no practical use other than as a piece of furniture. Gee… I could get a whole bedroom set for that amount!

The Free People Vintage Steamer Trunk can be found on their website. You can check it out here: Free People Clothing Boutique

And for those of you interested in a REAL vintage steamer trunk, you can head on over to ebay! Search for a Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk here: Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk, Furniture, Luggage items on eBay.com

Lockit Horizontal Bag by Louis Vuitton

March 24, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Lockit Horizontal Bag by Louis Vuitton
For quite some time now, I had been in search of that perfect large tote to use as a school bag; recently I discovered the bag I had been in search of, and that bag is the Lockit Horizontal by Louis Vuitton. I can’t wait to reveal, (I feel like I must) and share my personal opinions on this particular Vuitton bag.

First of all, the bag I was going to employ as my everyday college bag had to be big. How big? Well, my future bag had to be capable of at least carrying a 14” Dell laptop, spiral notebooks, at least one textbook, and my daily essentials, such as keys, wallet, compact, pen, and a lip gloss or two. Poor bag you might think, but I knew there had to be one.

I did research on the largest bags Louis Vuitton carried, and I had remembered (from a previous visit to an LV boutique), that the Lockit Horizontal had make the cut as a “large bag” and had been pretty appealing (appearance wise) to me as well. The Lockit Horizontal is a bag that doesn’t get much attention, but it did catch mine. I feel the Lockit is a mixture between two of Vuitton’s classics, the Speedy and the Alma. Why? Well it has the dome shaped structure and the Vachetta base of the Alma, and it also contains the lock feature, the soft body, and the round leather handles that can be found on the classic Speedy.

Upon purchasing and receiving the Lockit Horizontal, I knew I had chosen a great bag. It was perfect and just what I had been looking for. Not only is the Lockit a great school bag, but it’s also comfortable enough to take out on shopping sessions. If your ever in search of a large bag to use as a school bag, diaper bag, or just an everyday bag, I truly recommend you give the Lockit Horizontal a try.

Louis Vuitton Multicolore Speedy 30 Bag

March 21, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alicia

Louis Vuitton Multicolore Speedy 30 Bag
The creation of the Multicolore line from the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami first made it’s appearance back in 2003. The vibrant new candy-colored line instantly scored high on the trend meter and quickly made it’s way into the arms of many celebrities. The bags from this line were a hit among Hollywood’s young, rich and famous including Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson, especially the Multicolore Speedy 30.

The Multicolore Speedy 30 is the perfect and most stunning piece in Louis Vuittons’ MC line, in my opinion. From the classic essence of the speedy bag and modern, fresh and colorful designs from Takashi Murakami, traditional LV luxury meets art. And unlike other bags from this line, the Speedy 30 has lived up to the requirements to join the “timeless crew”. I feel that this is one purse that will never go out of style and that can be carried with any outfit. I absolutely adore the front buckled pocket and beautiful interior of alacantra lining. Also, the shiny gold hardware corners at the bottom make this distinguishable from all of the others. Overall, the classic shape and unique detailing put the Multicolore Speedy 30 at the head of it’s family.

Louis Vuitton Epi leather Montaigne Clutch

March 18, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Louis Vuitton Epi leather Montaigne Clutch
Log onto eLuxury (dot com) now, and check out the spring collection ad by Louis Vuitton. Grenade and Cassis are the names of two new colors Louis Vuitton added to their Epi collection! One of the many accessories found in these lovely new shades include the Epi Leather Montaigne Clutch. This clutch has so many eye catching features starting with its nice exterior design. A combination of textured and smooth leather dress up the Montaigne clutch, while silver hardware compliments perfectly with any of the different shades of Epi leather. You can purchase the Montaigne in fun shades of grenade and cassis or in classic colors of black and ivory. I like how Louis Vuitton made this clutch so versatile. The removable and adjustable strap allows you to carry the Montaigne on the shoulder, as a wristlet, or as a simple strapless clutch! I also like the logo engraved push lock, I feel it gives character to the Montaigne, without this classy detail this clutch would seem so simple. Measurements of the Montaigne include 10.5” x 4” x 2.5”. With a price tag of $805, this pretty little clutch would be the perfect accessory to any occasion!

Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Spring Collection:

March 11, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Vanessa

Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Spring Collection:
I recently got a look at Louis Vuitton’s latest Epi Leather Spring 2008 Collection and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. With colors like Cassis, Ivory, Grenade, and Red, the collection looks like a beautiful spring garden. Often, I find myself sticking with Louis Vuitton’s signature brown and gold pattern, not quite enjoying when they branch away from tradition. This new line has offered a delightful change to my Louis Vuitton collection.

While the new line branches away from its tradition with bright colors and new and bold shapes, Louis Vuitton provides what it is famous for…unbeatable fine leather, texture, and quality. The new line offers bags in all different sizes…from wallet size to larger bowling bags. They are adorned with shiny palladium hardware, engraved rivets, rolled handles, padlock and key for security, and protective metal feet. The colors are vibrant and keep in line with the 2008 Spring trends. They are chic bags that you can carry while dressed up and also trendy bags to wear when dressed down. They are of the highest quality and will last for years along with your collectable Louis Vuittons. They aren’t “too” trendy. You will enjoy the company of these Louis Vuitton Epi Leather bags beyond one season.

DecadesTwo + HauteLook Sale Event: Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada
Mark your calendars and set those alarm clocks - on Wednesday the 12th the DecadesTwo Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada Sale Event at HauteLook kicks off. What’s to expect? Unbelievable vintage pieces on sale! And the best part is you don’t have to go anywhere - no traveling to LA or New York. Just log on to hautelook.

This is one sale you don’t want to miss. The last Decades Two sale that took place on the HauteLook site was pretty amazing. I picked up the light grey Chanel Cruise Boucle Blazer, which looked so much better once I received it - totally blew me away. I’m hoping there will be more blazers this second time around, I will definitely have to snatch up at least one of those. Also last time there were no bags for sale, this time around I hope they have added them. (*crossing my fingers*)

Starts March 12th at 8:am PST / 11:am EST

Remember Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada — on sale!

About DecadesTwo

In just eight years, business partners Christos Garkinos and Cameron Silver have built decadestwo into an international retail destination. Having enjoyed great critical and commercial success since the store’s inception, the owners recently doubled the boutique’s size, celebrating with a fashionably grand re-opening in July 2007. Profiled in the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, decadestwo builds on the brand of decades, the vintage couture boutique sensation created by fashion visionary Silver. While decades carries upscale vintage designs from the 1930’s to 1990’s that often appear on the red carpets of awards season, its sister store, decadestwo, carries a carefully-edited selection of contemporary clothing and accessories (mostly 1990s to present day) and caters to a clientele seeking a highly unique shopping experience.

The cornerstone to the success of decadestwo is three-fold:

A large number of the consignors are celebrities, iconic fashionistas and exuberant shoppers who are passionate about clothing.

The boutique is highly-selective, accepting only 20% of what consignors bring and offers labels such as Balenciaga, Chanel, Chloe, Marc Jacobs and emerging designers.

Everyday shoppers enjoy savings of up to 80% off of original prices.

Drawing on his 20 years of brand marketing experience in Hollywood, Garkinos initially created the concept and the provided the seed money for decadestwo in 1999. He joined the venture full time six years ago. With over 1800 consigners and a thriving clientele, Garkinos and Silver have built up a remarkable global network of consumers that, as Garkinos says, “passionately hunt, gather and recycle” clothing. The company also has strong presence on eBay as well as their own website and blog.

As Garkinos says, “We’ve become a fashion victim of our own success! We now have over 1800 consignors worldwide and are happily inundated with the fab items we receive.”

See you there

UPDATE: I just received official confirmation that this sale is only for accessories: handbags and jewelry! No clothes this time around.
