Heading towards the science building at my University today, I dreadfully watched a fellow student drop her notebook computer from her weak grip under her arm. Poor notebook… it must have been new too as there was absolutely no case protecting the gadget, or maybe she just never felt the need to invest in some cushion for it.

Having that in mind, I browsed Net-A-Porter to see what tech cases they currently have in stock for one of man’s most trustworthy portable devices. Surprisingly, only two choices are available at the moment that’ll be the Into the Wild Case presented by Marc by Marc Jacobs and the Taffeta Laptop Case by Anya Hindmarch.

Both have similar concepts yet very different designs. I adore the funky leopard prints and the raspberry color of the MbMJ twill case; it’ll make a fun case to add to your casual wardrobe and definitely some arm candy to wear on canvas.

If leopard and multicolor prints aren’t your style, settle for the luxe-tech Taffeta bag. This purple and patent trim features a gold signature interior, tassel pulls and an exterior pocket labeled “Bits and Bobs”; it’s simple, cute and definitely classy.

I’ve never been a fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Miss Marc collection. Something about Miss Marc has never been appealing to me, or fashionable. I must admit though, that I’m eating my words today. I came across the Marc by Marc Jacobs Miss Marc “Small Hobo” today, and I think it’s adorable!

I personally don’t care for the color of the bag too much. I’m all about matching my handbags and shoes with my outfit, and I have no purple clothes in my wardrobe. If this bag was available in black, I probably would of snatched one up!

In the listing they call this bag a “hobo?” I’m not sure I would label in a hobo, because to me it looks more like a messenger bag. Whatever you want to label it, I do believe this would be a great school bag for a teenager or college student. By the looks of the picture above, it does seem like this bag is spacious. It looks like it’s wide enough to fit school books, notebook, and even a lap top/netbook inside it.

As for Miss Marc, she doesn’t look so bad this time. I usually never like the way she looks, but I gotta admit she looks pretty stylish this time around.

Looking for a great designer bag that won’t do too much damage to your bank account? Marc Jacobs MbMJ line is probably the best to go with to get your fix on trendy handbags and accessories for your money’s worth. Their colors and designs are always attractive and their leathers, superb. I’m always keeping an eye out to see what’s new or possibly the next accessory to land in my closet. Although I don’t own one just yet, the Classic Q Hillier Hobo has got to be my favorite hobo styled handbag by the Marc by Marc Jacobs line.

It’s design looks comfortable and the single leather shoulder strap is nothing to complain about either. Upon viewing, I was fascinated with the latest arrival of the Hillier Hobo in Deep Hot Red. Gorgeous! This bag is sure to grab all the attention your way with a color as stunning as that. Just take a look at how finely the choice of gold toned hardware compliments its luscious scarlet hue. I was browsing through the purse department at Nordstrom on Saturday, looking at all the beautiful new bags that have come out for the Fall season. One of the bags I came across was the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Totally Turnlock Aidan Satchel” and to my surprise it was actually stunning. Even my Mother, who was with me, fell in love with this bag.

What I love the most about this bag, is that it’s so plain but yet at the same time is gorgeous. Perhaps the saying, “Less is more” really is true. In person, this bag looks like any ordinary bag but when you hold it and inspect it you can’t help but fall in love with it.

My favorite feature about this bag was the shape! The shape kind of reminded me of a Prada “Bowler” bag. I’ve always been in love with the Prada “Bowler” handbags, and to see a bag that was just like one at a much more reasonable price was amazing! It does have that bowling ball bag shape, which made it fabulous.

I think if I were to purchase this bag, I would use it as a travel bag. When I’m traveling, I love to carry around a big black bag with me. Black bags go with so many outfits, and when I’m out of town I tend to carry a lot in my bag because I never know when I’m going to be back in the hotel. This bag is on the large side, so it would be of great use when you’re on vacation or simply on a business trip.

The Marc by Marc Jacobs “Totally Turnlock Aidan Satchel” can be purchased at Nordstrom for $528. I do think this is a gorgeous bag, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. If I’m paying that much for a bag, I rather put it towards a Louis Vuitton bag or some other high end designer bag. If this bag ever went on sale though, I just might pick one up! This is one of those cases when you have a great bag with a horrible price.

When I heard that Marc had produced a Doodle Print Tote for his Marc by Marc Jacobs line, two words immediately popped into my head: Dooney & Bourke. We all remember the Dooney & Bourke Doodle Print Collection, with its bright colors and childish-looking drawings. But when I finally saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs Doodle Print Tote in real life, I wasn’t as shocked as I thought I would be. Yes, the doodles are whimsical and childlike. However, I think what saves this tote from complete fashion disaster is that the doodles were done in simple black and white instead of every color of the rainbow. The little birds, rainbows, and bees are actually pretty cute. And the little worm is adorable! The doodles remind me of my textbooks from when I was in grade school. The teacher would have all the students bring a paper bag from home to make into a book cover. And, of course, mine would always be covered with lots and lots of drawings. I think this tote would be cute as a gym bag or even as a casual shopping tote. It is definitely something that the young and young-at-heart can both enjoy.

I have always been a fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Twisted Q Groovee” and I just became a fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Twisted Q Baby Groovee.” I’m not one for small handbags, but this one is cute! Obviously, if I had to choose I would pick the larger handbag without a doubt. The thing is though, is that the “Twisted Q Groovee” does cost a bit more than than the “Baby Groovee.” If you have always loved the “Twisted Q Groovee” but never had the funds for it, you can now get a smaller version of the same exact bag at a fraction of the price!

The “Twisted Q Baby Groovee” is basically a carbon copy of it’s big sister, it’s just a tad bit smaller. If you like small handbags then you will probably love this bag. I would imagine that you can’t fit much in this bag, so if you don’t have much to carry around then this bag will be perfect for you!

What I love most about this handbag is that it’s so versatile. You can carry it: one-of-two ways; day or night; and all year long. It really is one of those bag that no matter what you wear, it will look fabulous. You can literally wear a dress, jeans, leggings, or skirt and the bag will look stunning. If you are looking for a multi-purpose handbag to add to your collection, then you may just want to consider the “Twisted Q Baby Groovee.”

The Chat: Twisted Groovee!

When my fellow Bag Bliss blogger, Deysa, posted about the Marc by Marc Jacobs Animal Wristlets I thought they were kinda cute. Not something I would use as a wristlet, but I thought they would make adorable little makeup bags. I did, however, question how good ol’ Marc came up with the idea of animal-shaped wristlets. Were they part of something bigger? Well, as it turns out, they are actually part of the Flights of Fancy Collection which is new for this upcoming Fall season. The collection includes handbags, wristlets, coin purses, key chains, and even jewelry.

But wait just a minute! Cute little woodland creatures? Patchworks of fabrics seen in other collections? The Flights of Fancy Collection reminds me so much of Marc’s collaboration with artist Julie Verhoeven back in 2002. Does anyone recall the Louis Vuitton Conte de Fees Collection? Just in case anyone has forgotten, I have pictured below the Louis Vuitton Conte de Fees Beggars Bag.

Hmm… it seems to me that perhaps Marc has taken a little trip down memory lane. What does everyone else think? Personally, I think Marc Jacobs definitely took inspiration from the collection. And although the animals are cute, I think I will stick with just a small accessory and forgo adding one of the handbags to my collection. That mouse key chain is so freaking adorable!
