Marc Jacobs Ines On Sale @ Saks!

Marc Jacobs Ines On Sale @ Saks!
Head on over to Saks Fifth Avenue (dot com) and check out their huge designer handbag sale. Right now, they have a great selection on handbags and accessories to choose from, and some lovelies are even up to 40%+ off!

One of my favorite handbag styles of all time has got to be the Ines shoulder bag by Marc Jacobs. It’s on my top Marc Jacobs design list, just like the popular MJ Stam is. What’s not to love about this bag? I adore its design, and how stylish and sophisticated it looks. This bag comes dressed in luscious patchwork leather, and it’s shade is a perfect year round color. Don’t be fooled by the hue in the picture, this Ines actual color is chocolate, not black. Doesn’t the gold plated hardware compliment the chocolate leather perfectly? I think so. Dressed up or dressed down, the Ines will still look fab!

If you’re craving a nice couture leather handbag, why not the Ines? Plus, this handbag is one of the many lovely pieces on sale now over at Saks’ website. It’s actually on sale for $976.50! Don’t hesitate, as we all know that the hottest items are the first to go! Unfortunately for me, I’m a little b-r-o-k-e, or else…

The Purse Store SALE!

April 27, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Jennifer
Huge “Birthday Sale” going on right now over at designer handbag superstore, The Purse Store. Where if you shop any of the “New Arrivals” you’ll save 30% off by using by using the promo code: BDAY08

Katherine Kwei Donna Clutch
I’m new to the bag designs of Katherine Kwei. What I find most interesting about this clutch is the little pieces of swarovski crystals scattered throughout this clutch, hidden in the shredded signature chinese ‘eternity’ knot weave pieces of watersnake and metallic lambskin, like little treasure pieces.

Price: $1,005 $703.50 (with code BDAY08) @ The Purse Store

Marc Jacobs Angie Fluo Purse
This cute little purple-eyed frog clutch is fresh off the lot from Marc-ey Marc Jacobs new Evening Fluo Collection. Personally my favorite version this clutch is in one of the hot new neon colors, like in the pink or green versions that they have over at net-a-porter. Although the black is classic, and will last many more years than current “neon-trend”. Plus you can’t beat this price anywhere else. Right now the Angie in black is on sale for a fraction of the price.

Price: $1,195 $836.50 (with code BDAY08) @ The Purse Store

Foley + Corinna City Clutch
Okay, I know Deysa mentioned this bag like an hour ago, but what can I say, Foley + Corinna bags are amazing. Plus the fuchsia one that she mentioned is sold out, however this spring white version is available, and ready for a new home. It’s the 2-in-1 bag designed for any one on the go. Carry it as a handbag by day — no need to go home and purse-change — simply fold it up into a clutch and whahala you have a new accessory look. Sure there’s the imitations out there, like Nine West’s leather version. But that’s just it.. do you want to carry around a Foley + Corinna City clutch copy? I know what you are thinking… they look the same, but the price is such a huge difference. True, but at this moment, until the end of this month you can get the Foley + Corinna real deal on sale for around $300.

Price: $440 $310.80 (with code BDAY08) @ The Purse Store

Sam Edelman Carmen Flats
The Purse Store has shoes too! Snatch up these super adorable Sam Edelman Carmen Croc-embossed metallic leather flats for $66.

Price: $95 $66.50 (with code BDAY08) @ The Purse Store

Lorelei Mary Clutch
Here’s an awesome deal. Right now this exotic embossed lizard Lorelei Mary pleated frame clutch, in this fabulous pretty pink coral color is on sale for under $150! It’s pretty big sized too, so it’s not a dinky little accessory. It measures in at 11″ width x 6″ height x 2.5″ depth. Also this purse even comes with an extra shoulder strap.

Price: $210 $147 (with code BDAY08) @ The Purse Store

Sneak Peak: Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 Purse Collection

April 23, 2008

Sneak Peak: Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 Purse Collection
I’m not really sure what compelled me to visit the official Marc Jacobs website the other day. Perhaps I was bored or perhaps I was looking for something — I honestly can’t remember the reason for my visit. But you know what? I’m really glad I went! Why? Well, it just so happens that the new collection for Fall 2008 has already been posted! Well… at least the images have been posted. It looks like things are still under construction since there are no names or descriptions to go with these bags. I guess this is to be expected. I mean, it is April after all. Fall isn’t exactly right around the corner at the moment. Actually, I’m curious as to why they have these bags posted on the website so early. Oh well!

So what we have pictured above is simply a sampling of the new bags that will soon be available (The number of bags pictured on the website for Fall 2008 is staggering. The ones I have pictured above is just scratching the surface). Some are gorgeous, of course. I mean, what else would you expect from good ol’ Marc? However, there are also a few… um… interesting looking bags that have also wormed their way into the world of Marc Jacobs. Here’s what we have:

1. A black and tan leather satchel that can be worn either on the arm or the shoulder. It has a flap closure and a push-lock. Not really sure what is up with that chain though.

2. A dark, eggplant colored tote. It is a mix of quilted and plain leather. It also appears to have an exterior zip-around pocket and a double shoulder strap. Love the yummy color!

3. A Stam-style bag in purple ostrich. Not sure whether it is embossed or genuine. Can be carried on the arm or on the shoulder with the chain strap. Isn’t this one gorgeous?

4. A smaller shoulder bag in brown and tan leather. It has a flap closure and what appears to be a metal flower decoration. It also looks like the strap might be adjustable. Cute!

5. A brown leather tote with a tone-on-tone strip on the front. It looks like it has a zippered top and a pocket on the outside. Looks like it would be great for work!

6. A bubblegum pink ostrich shoulder bag… with a car on it? It has a flap closure and what appears to be an adjustable strap. Hmmm…

Sorry girls! These bags are so new that there are no measurements or prices available yet, otherwise I would definitely let you know!

You can view the entire collection over at the official Marc Jacobs website: marc jacobs

And watch for these bags to appear over at eluxury or SAKS. I’m sure that once these bags become available, you will be able to score one of them there!

Marc Jacobs Monica Mink & Python Clutch

April 21, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Marc Jacobs Monica Mink & Python Clutch
Have you ladies seen this clutch before? It’s called the Monica Mink/Python Clutch designed by Marc Jacobs. As stated in its name, the Monica Clutch is made up of Mink fur and Python pieces. (Now those are two creatures that wouldn’t normally run into each other). When I hear the words Mink and Python, I tend to think “expensive”, right? Well together, this clutch definitely is! With a retail price of $2,950, it sure is pricey for such a small piece. If you’re interested in the Monica, head on over to the SALE section at SaksFifthAvenue and find this Marc Jacobs on sale for $2,064.90!

The Monica Clutch isn’t really a spring/summer bag (not even close), but it is a true high-maintenance designer piece. What do you ladies think about the Monica Clutch? Either you see this piece as exquisite and extremely luxurious, or you find this clutch a perfect fit for a barbarian. Personally, I dislike it. I feel that it’s a bit too much for my taste. Sure this clutch gives off a grand luxurious vibe, but I just can’t justify myself carrying both mink and python on the same clutch.

Stock up on Fall/Winter08’ accessories (in the sales section), here: SaksFifthAvenue

Marc Jacobs Day Fluo Venetia Purse

April 18, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Marc Jacobs Day Fluo Venetia Purse
Marc Jacobs has got to be on my top five designers list. You all must admit he’s pretty darn creative and skilled at what he does. Most of his handbags are hits in my book, but sometimes, Mr. Jacobs tends to bust out something from who-knows-where. Meet the Day Fluo Venetia handbag by the Marc Jacobs collection. Ok, so maybe this bag is not that bad. (It really isn’t! Worst designs really do exist!) The only dislike on this Marc Jacobs would have to be the tacky color. Yes, I am aware that bright colors are in, but somehow, I prefer highlighter hues marked among my textbooks, not on my handbag! I do adore the bags structure; the Venetia is such an attractive and sophisticated bag, (especially in the metallic leather version). I feel the Day Fluo Venetia failed in not carrying quilted leather. Maybe I’m wrong, now that I think about it; I don’t think the fluorescent color would compliment delightfully with quilted leather.

So what do you all think? Do you ladies think a bags color could either make or break a handbag, overall? Say the Day Fluo were available in the classic shade of black rather than in Acid Yellow, (yes, that’s the colours name), would you find this Venetia more appealing?

eLuxury’s ‘Allure of the White Handbag’

April 12, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

eLuxury’s ‘Allure of the White Handbag’
Spring is here and a hot new trend found in handbags right now are pretty whites! Just like a classic black bag, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a white handbag. If you head on over to eLuxury’s website, you can find a page dedicated to the hottest designer accessories available in the neutral hue of white. Four random accessories listed above would make a perfect edition to your spring bags collection.

Marc Jacobs Collection Patchwork Ines has got to be my white bag of choice. It’s such a pretty piece with such a classic vibe. I admire the white quilted grained leather, and the gold hardware of choice compliments the handbag, finely. The chained handles are very luxurious, they are definitely capable of turning a few heads towards you.

Craving logos instead? If so, the Fendi Forever seems like a great everyday tote. Within, you can find this bag divided into three main compartments, making this tote extremely spacious. Sporting Fendi’s famous “F’s” on clean white patent leather, it’s sure to please any logo crave in style.

How about a clutch? Everyone should own a great clutch for those bag-less days and evening outings. Dior carries the pretty Vinyl Cannage ‘D’ Clutch and Juicy Couture has their elongated clutch. You can find flap top closure and decorative adornments on both of these pieces.

Whether you prefer the tote, satchel or the everyday clutch, each piece is lovely and any would make a great addition to the stylish white accessory trend.

Marc Jacobs Mix Quilted Classic Coin Pouch

March 17, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Jennifer

Marc Jacobs Mix Quilted Classic Coin Pouch
Generally, I’m a super-size big handbag lover. Even though somedays I’m only carrying a wallet, cosmetic case, and my phone I always go for the bigger bag. Bigger is better. Although back in January, when I spotted Lindsay Lohan with the Yves Saint Laurent Belle de Jour Wristlet Clutch I was starstuck. Why did I fall so hard for this bag even though it’s not in the norm of my everyday purse choice? It’s simple, very minimal without all that extra atmospheric space. A perfect candidate for a shopping companion, or even as a mini organizer in your giant purse.

For this spring season Marc Jacobs created the Mix Quilted Classic Coin Pouch. Comes dressed in smooth and shiny calf leather with a pintucked pleat detail on the front and back and comes topped off with a teeny tiny trompe l’œil push-lock stud on the side. Speaking of teeny tiny, this purse measures in at 5″ x 3″ x 2.5″ — probably not big enough for a wallet, but may be just right for some cash, cards, and even lip-gloss. Also, what Marc Jacobs bag would be complete with out the super chunky chain strap? This purse features a chain wristlet strap that measures 7.25″ long. The Mix Bag is available in Chalk white or my favorite, delicious berry colored Lavender.

Marc Jacobs Collection - Evening Rana Pouch Purse

March 8, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Marc Jacobs Collection - Evening Rana Pouch Purse
The last couple of days, the sibling and I have been surfing the net looking for prom ideas (she’s going to prom this year). The parent’s promised to get her nice accessories for her big night, and of course, an evening bag is a must! So far, we’ve spotted a couple of nice evening clutches… and this one other bag I can’t seem to acquire a positive opinion about.

Marc Jacobs is one of my all time favorite designers, and like most fashion artists, designers tend to doze off into some freaky world and bring back some awfully unexpected ideas, once in a while. With this said, meet the Evening Rana Pouch by Marc Jacobs Collection. I adore the Marc Jacobs grained leather, the metallic satin lining and the gold nameplate inside, but that’s it! I must be missing the point but, why the giant frog?! I just don’t get it. Besides the oversized “rana”, the framework of this evening pouch doesn’t appeal to my taste, for once I disagree with pleats, and that rolled leather loop is just so boring. I feel $795 is a bit too pricey for this item, but if you’re in search of a unique evening bag, this is defiantly one. You can discover this Marc Jacobs piece through eLUXURY (dot com), now: Marc Jacobs Collection - Evening Rana Pouch - eLUXURY

Marc Jacobs Collection Quilted Colorblock Evening Pouchette

March 5, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

Marc Jacobs Collection Quilted Colorblock Evening Pouchette
I truly adore Marc Jacobs and his contribution to the world of fashion. I have yet to meet somebody who dislikes Marc’s creations. Yesterday, I spotted this awesome Marc Jacobs bag in person, meet one of Marc Jacob’s latest formations, the Quilted Colorblock Evening Pouchette. I got to “play around” with this pouchette for a while, and I truly adored it. For starters, this pouchette is quilted with that smooshy Marc Jacobs’ leather (it smelled so yummy) many of us bag-fanatics adore. It features leather shoulder straps woven through a silver metal chain, aged hardware, an acrylic plate carrying a turn lock closure and an engraving which reads the designers name. The trendy pleats found around the bag and the grey textile lining were pleasant details as well. Take a guess at which feature of the colorblock pouchette caught my attention the most? Why it’s those funky cool colors of course! Check out the eye catching color combinations found on this bag, doesn’t it make you want to go dancing? Measuring in at 12” x 6” x 3.5”, this is truly an attractive alternative to any simple evening bag.

Red is Always Right

February 28, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Vanessa
Red is Always Right

Couture Glam - Marc Jacobs Soft Quilted Bruna Handbag in Raspberry $1,295.00
Chic & Cheap – Nine West “Steel Dots Tote” $105

Red bags are not just a seasonable item but a wardrobe must have. Red bags look great with leopard print shoes, a hounds tooth skirt, a zebra print top, a head-to-toe black outfit, a work suit, jeans and a white t-shirt. No fashion item is more versatile than a red bag. It’s an effortless way to turn your outfit from plain to chic.

Throughout time, the red bag has proven to be a lasting staple in fashion. Fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Marilyn Monroe were seen toting red bags. Today red bags are ever present on the runways and among the Hollywood elite. Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Nine West include red as a prominent color in their seasonal hand lines.

The red leather bag is one of those items that you will have and use for years. The handbag you carry on a daily basis. The one you take with you to work and wear when you go out at night. The red bag is one of the most practical fashion investments you can make and you can find them in every price range. A red bag is not simply an extra bag but a fashion necessity and should be present in ever girl’s closet.

Marc Jacobs Trompe L’Oeil Cammie Pouchette

February 24, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alicia

Marc Jacobs Trompe L’Oeil Cammie Pouchette
Marc Jacobs has designed some wonderful bags in the past and for this year. And I’d have to say that he is definitely one of my favorite designers. But when I came across this purse, I was a little disappointed. I suppose I could see this in his Marc by Marc Jacobs line but I just don’t think it fits into the MJ collection. The fake pockets and fake zipper stitching kind of remind me of that short-lived trend of trench coats with fake button and belt stiching that were popular a few years back. I’m just really not a fan of this embroidery concept. I personally think this bag looks like it was made for a child.

The Trompe L’Oeil Cammie Pouchette is made of shiny leather and is available in black. The shoulder strap is a combination of acrylic chain link and leather and has a strap drop length of 13″. It has a fabric lined interior with a leather trim side zipped pocket. It’s also roomy for a pouchette and measures 8″ x 12″. The price tag on this one is $975 which in my opinion is way over priced considering the design. Like I said before, this looks more like a Marc by Marc bag and should be priced within that range.

So, what do you think of this bag?

Marc Jacobs Quilted Stam Bag

February 12, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alicia

Marc Jacobs Quilted Stam Bag
Although there are plenty of new designer “It” bags out for the upcoming seasons, in my opinion many will not develop a classic essence like the Quilted Stam by Marc Jacobs. I’m sure most of you MJ fans are quite aware that the Stam has been out for some time now (I believe about 4 years or so), the orgin of it’s name from model Jessica Stam, and so forth. And when it first made it’s debut, shortly thereafter it was spotted on the arms of some of Hollywood‘s celebs, including young starlets Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. The Stam has definitely branded a spot within the accessory world of handbags, and it is still making a statement each season. The new feminine colors that Marc Jacobs presents, combined with it’s classic shape make this bag an exquisite piece for the new seasons just around the corner and for years to come.

The colors created for this season are Ivory, Fluo Pink, and Raspberry (pictured above and also the color I‘m craving). This is one bag that is on my list of wants and hopefully my budget will allow it to make it‘s way into my collection. One can not go wrong with the Quilted Stam bag by Marc Jacobs even if it’s in a “hot” color for the season, as the classic elements such as the framed top, quilted leather and luxurious chain strap have reserved it a spot among timeless pieces.

You can buy the Quilted Stam by Marc Jacobs for $1,350.
