New York City born fashion designer who established an upscale couture line under his name, diffused a modern cool collection, and holds the title of creative designer to the prestigious French luxury brand Louis Vuitton, of course we’re talking about no other than Marc Jacobs.

Since his grandmother taught him how to knit early on, his interest in fashion flourished. Jacobs studied at Parsons School of Art and Design in New York and later started designing for Perry Ellis. He was let go after designing a collection of “grunge” for Ellis, but success came to him after being awarded a New Fashion Talent award by The Council of Fashion Designers of America. He carried on to his own line the Marc Jacobs Collection that became an instant hit within the fashion and celebrity world. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Victoria Beckham, Dakota Fanning and Linda Evangelista are just some of the many fans to both his Collection line and his funky cool Marc by Marc Jacobs line.

From 1997 until today, Marc Jacobs holds the title of creative director for Louis Vuitton and has succeeded in huge collaborations with the likes of Takashi Murakami, Stephen Sprouse, and Richard Prince.

When fellow blogger BRS mentioned the NY Rocker Stam by Marc Jacobs a while back, the majority of the crowd definitely agreed that the infamous Stam looked awesome dressed up in extra sequins and studs. Just when you thought Marc Jacobs couldn’t make the Rocker Stam any cuter, he introduces its miniature version, the New York Rocker Little Stam.

I find this piece absolutely adorable; if the original Stam size is a bit too blingy for your taste, then this size might be the right one for you. Marc Jacobs has a pending application for it’s random “Marc Jacobs” scrambled trademark. The scramble trademark is what makes up the inside lining of the “Pretty Nylon” Tote. And the “size, shape, color or color combination, product design, texture, and selection and arrangement of materials and accessories” make up it’s trade dress, which is the image and identity of the “Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Tote” for which Marc Jacobs fans around the world associate with it.

Chains are back and they are better than ever! Well, that is, where handbags are concerned anyway. To be honest, I have always had a soft spot for bags with a chain strap.
