Michael Kors Beverly Gator Watch Clutch
Everyone says that the watch is one of the first things that you notice when you go into a meeting (along with shoes). When you reach over to shake the others hand, you can’t help but look down and spot that solid piece of expensive wrist candy. This may be mostly true for males than females. Sure I check out the watch, but I also have to take a glance at the whole package before me: shoes, attire, jewelry and of course the handbag.

But what about a wristwatch clutch? Coming at you fresh, from the spring line up from designer Micheal Kors –who have you noticed has been focusing a lot more on handbags– it’s a clutch with a new unique twist. How many other designer’s out there traded in the norm materials for something different? I appreciate that.

It combines the masculinity of the wristwatch band and femininity of the classic alligator-embossed leather clutch in a refreshing lime green shade.

Safari Bags
Ohhhh…take me to the jungle! One of Spring’s hottest trends is the safari look. From khaki clothing to woven wedges, wooden bangles, and animal print bags, the safari look is all over the place. Prints like zebra, cheetah, giraffe, and leopard and textures like crocodile and snakeskin leathers adorn this season’s hottest bags.

The first bag featured is the Michael Kors Large North/South Tote. This bag is made of giraffe printed canvas with grain leather trim and brush metal hardware. It retails at a fair $298 and is large enough to fit all the necessities and even good enough to take on a jungle expedition. The second bag featured is the Fendi Extra Large Fringed Zebra Baguette Tote and retails at a more hefty $5,420. The bag consists of zebra printed pony hair and leather fringe. This bag is wild and fun. The multicolor fringe gives sets it apart from the typical zebra print. The third bag featured is the Dior Runway Dior Jazzclub Zebra Flapped Bag and retails at $3,510. This may be my favorite of the bunch. It is funky and captures the trendy safari theme but still remains chic and sophisticated. This bag is very versatile and can be worn with a khaki, safari inspired outfit or with a little black dress. The final bag featured is the Loeffler Randall Snakeskin-Stamped Envelope Clutch. This bag is made of Shiny snakeskin-embossed leather and features polished gold metal hardware. It is the perfect little safari clutch and may even fit some bug spray for those humid nights in the jungle!

If you’re looking for a dressier designer bag that’s affordable and roomy all in one, then check out the Sutton Buckle bag by Michael Kors. This bag features soft coffee suede leather with a single handle for arm or hand carry. The small gold hardware details on this bag include an underlying press stud fastening for closure, protective studs on the bottom allowing it to stand on it’s own, and last but not least the main feature which is the giant golden buckle on the front flap. And also there is a patent leather band in the front and patent lining on the sides, which aslo adds some shine and glamour to this piece.

What I love about this bag is the size which measures 13″ x 8.5″ x 4″. It’s a perfect bag for an evening out because it’s classy and it’s not bulky, but does provide enough room for what you need. I also love the combination of suede and patent leather as the light capture of the patent leather elegantly and stylishly makes this piece noticeable. Also, the contrast of the golden hardware to the dark leather adds just enough charm. However, the only thing is that I wish the golden buckle was a tad bit smaller as my personal taste has yet to fully accept the ‘giant hardware’ trend. But, for a deal of 60% off or $398 marked down from $995, I think this bag is a steal!!!

Designer Handbags for Under $300
The mission seems so impossible these days to find a quality designer handbag that retails for under $300, but luckily for those of us who don’t have a tree that grows money in our back yard there are a few “affordable” handbag lines that cater to us at an affordable rate. The most popular handbag brands that retail in this entry-level range are Juicy Couture, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and a few others that aren’t as well known but can also be found in this range, such as Acne Jeans handbags and Y-3 purses.

Michael Kors Mesh Hobo Purse
I’m just going to come out and say it. I do not like the new Michael Kors Mesh Bag, at all. The link detailing reminds me of chain mail body armor.

This purse is covered in gold tone small metal rings linked together in a pattern to forming a mesh, trimmed with antique studded leather straps, and hiding behind the protective shield covering is the single pocket dark brown canvas lining.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Marilyn
It was a tough decision, but I decided to go with the Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Marilyn. I was having a tough time deciding between Louis Vuitton’s two spring 2007 Multicolore newbies – The Ursula (giant drawstring) and The Marilyn. After weighing the likes and dislikes of the two bags and a few chants of “eni meeni mini mo” and of course getting the beautiful people of TheBagForum to help me out, I came to a decision – Marilyn.

At least with the Marilyn, on some occasions I can get away with wearing it not only as a daytime handbag, but also the small style of it makes it perfect for those few casual nights out, unlike the gigantic Ursula.

So now I wait, and apparently its going to be a long while until my new child gets here…. Since I’m going to be on a mini-vacation this weekend I figured rather than express it over, I would just do the standard shipping so by the time I get back home it will be here. That would have been sweet. But no, I totally forgot that eluxury has a 2 day processing time before they send out the order, so it turns out I won’t have my new child until mid-next week. Bummer. So to satisfy my current craving for a new purse I went shopping and snatched up a couple newbies.

Frisky and the Michael Kors Yacht Club Tote
Welcome to the family! I have such a big Michael Kors collection, but sadly they never, and mean never, make it out of the dust bags. (I better wear this one). I’ve even resisted a couple bags in the past for that reason. I want to cut back on my MK overload and stock up on other designers. Well, after this bag that is It’s the Yacht Club large shopper in a lovely creamy colored beige with gold hardware. It’s pretty roomy too, which is a huge plus for me because I like to carry everything essential to living with me in my bag. As you can see above it’s the perfect size for stuffing a large sized female cat in – reappearance of eBelle5’s Supermodel Kitty Frisky aka Mr. Kitters (really a female cat but for some reason I keep masculinizing her name and nicknames – out of habit I guess).
Me and the Hobo International Platinum Tote
Oh my gosh. I never honestly thought I would ever, and I mean ever, purchase a Hobo International handbag! Isn’t the name is just awful sounding? HOBO (hoe-bow).

I fell in love and realized the potential for this mediocre label bag when one of my friends casually pulled a Champaign bottle out of it. She had it in there sitting upright for a good part of the night without anyone noticing, or without making the bag tilt at all. I’m sure that’s not what the creators of this bag had in mind, but I was sold. I mean if it can fit that along with her other stuff in there while still resting comfortably on her shoulder then this is a bag for me.

I went to Nordy’s (home to hobo international) with the intentions of getting this bag in the black leather. Well, then I saw the metallic line of these bags and I quickly changed my mind. I grabbed the Platinum and Shimmery Light Blue then stood there for like 10 minutes trying to decide between the two. I was about to just get both, but then I resisted the temptation and went with the Platinum. The only thing I don’t like about the bag is ugly peach interior (I hate that color), but I don’t think I will be flashing very many people with my purse interior, so I wont complain that much.

What I love about this bag is the gigantic size. It’s exactly what I need for this weekend as a personal travel bag to stuff my laptop, magazines, snacks, cosmetic case, sweater, purse, etc in. I also love the fact that this bag has studded feet. Which means I can abuse it without feeling guilty – you know chuck it, drop it, toss it on the floor without being worried of ripping or scrapping the bottom.

Overall I’m temporarily satisfied with this purchase. Mostly for the fact that the cost of this bag rings in on the low side of the designer handbag price-spectrum, and I’m sure I will use it a lot this summer as carry-on travel companion.
