Michael Kors Handbags & Purses

Michael Kors started his fashion career in 1981 when he launched his womenswear line at Bloomingdales, Bergdorf Goodman, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue. The line was so successful that in 1997 he was named the creative director of “Celine.” Once again, his work became a blockbuster hit that he left Celine in 2003 to concentrate on his owns brands.

In 2004, the Michael Kors Runway Collection, MICHAEL Michael Kors, and KORS Michael Kors were launched. All lines consist of clothes, purses, and shoes.

His most popular bag to this day is the Astor Satchel. The satchel has been available in a variety of colors over the years, and it still remains a favorite for fashion lover’s worldwide.

Celebrities who have been spotted wearing Michael Kors are Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Angelina Jolie.

Botkier Brooklyn Hobo

Botkier Brooklyn Hobo
Monica Botkier is such a great designer, I always enjoy seeing new styles from her line. But when I stumbled across the Botkier Brooklyn Hobo, I found myself experiencing something I have never experienced before in terms of Botkier handbags.

Yep, it was an old-fashioned case of deja vu. And to make matters worse, I had absolutely so clue why. So I studied the Botkier Brooklyn Hobo closely, hoping that it would eventually come to me.

This beautiful bag features long tassels, something that it often associated with the Botkier name. And the lacing detail via metal grommets creates an interesting horizontal pleating effect. Wait… that’s it! That is what I have seen (and also written about) before! There is another handbag out there where grommets and lacing were used to create horizontal pleats.

Michael Kors “Erin” Bag

Michael Kors Handbags: Michael Kors "Erin" Bag
Every time Michael Kors comes out with a batch of new handbags and shoes I’m in total awe. I never thought he could top the gorgeous “Uptown Astor” handbag collection, but he did. The “Erin” handbag collection is drop dead gorgeous and I need to get my hands on one of the pieces ASAP.

One of my favorite handbags from the “Erin” collection is the “Large Shoulder” bag. The bag is beautiful with a touch of classiness. I had thought the “Uptown Astor” collection was edgy and trendy, but the “Erin” collection is more simple and sophisticated looking which makes it fabulous.

Michael Kors “North/South Joplin” Tote in Navy

michael kors: Michael Kors "North/South Joplin" Tote
Michael Kors has released quite a few new handbags, and one of them is the MICHAEL Michael Kors “North/South Joplin” Tote. Don’t be fooled though, the “Joplin” handbag collection is not a new collection to Michael Kors. In fact, this same bag was available in black about a year or so ago. Even then, I thought it was gorgeous but I wasn’t able to get myself one. To see Michael Kors re-release this collection in different colors brought a smile to my face!

Abas Abby Studded Crossbody Bag

Abas Abby Studded Crossbody Bag
I’ve never been a fan of crossbody bags. To me, no matter who the designer was they never looked stylish and they were way too small. I’m one of these girls that carries practically my whole dresser in my bag so a small bag never works for me.

When I purchased the MICHAEL Michael Kors Uptown Shoulder Tote, which can also be used as a crossbody bag, I realized I was wrong! Sometimes is does get annoying to constantly have a bag on your shoulder or carried in your hand. A crossbody works wonders when you don’t really feel like carrying a bag around, and now I love them. They really are the best accessory to have especially when you’re on a trip.

My Current Wishlist

designer handbag list
Every handbag lover out there has a wish list that seems to be updated every week. No matter how many times we may tell ourselves we don’t need anymore purses our heart always says otherwise.

For me, every time I walk into Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors or Nordstrom I find myself adding more handbags to my wish list! It almost seems like handbags are my drug that I just can’t give up.

At the moment, I have five handbags on my wish list. I absolutely love the: Louis Vuitton “Damier” Speedy 30; MICHAEL Michael Kors “Uptown Astor” Satchel in black; and the Alexander McQueen “Faithful Glove” Clutch in Black. The other two bags I want are still up in the air. I really want a new black patent leather bag, and a new Louis Vuitton Monogram bag to add to my collection.

My favorite bag out of the five on my wish list would have to be a toss up between the “Uptown Astor” Satchel and the “Faithful Glove” Clutch. I love how the gold hardware looks so beautiful on the black leather of the “Astor” bag. Then I also really like how edgy the “Faithful Glove” Clutch looks. If you like the whole rocker chick look as much as I do, then you just may want to add it to your wish list too!

Out of all the bags I want, I see myself buying the “Damier” Speedy or “Uptown Astor” Satchel first. Both bags are reasonably priced from $398-$690, and are versatile because they can go with so many different outfits! I hope to get all the bags on my wish list, but first I need to stop buying shoes before that can ever happen!

My question to all you bagista’s out there is, “What handbags are on your wish list?”

Michael Kors Uptown Astor Hobo

Michael Kors Uptown Astor Hobo
Michael Kors has came out with some beautiful handbags recently, and one of them is the “Uptown” Astor Shoulder Bag. I’m a huge fan of the “Uptown” collection. The colors and the golden hardware featured on the bags is absolutely stunning.

I currently own the “Uptown” Astor Shoulder Tote, and I’m craving to buy the matching satchel. When I came across the shoulder bag on Nordstrom, I was in awe. The Michael Kors stores and website do not currently sell the “Uptown” Astor Shoulder Bag, so it was a surprise to see another bag added to this collection.

The “Uptown” Astor collection comes in four different colors: Amethyst, Black, Lapis, and Luggage. I love the shoulder tote and satchel in black, but I have to admit that I’m liking the shoulder bag in luggage. The “luggage” color really gives the shoulder bag a sophisticated look. I could see a fashionista carrying this bag around all year long, and using it for an everyday bag.

Being that “luggage” is like a tan color, it makes the bag so neutal. You can pair this bag with some many different color outfit and shoes, which already makes it a great handbag to add to any collection.

The MICHAEL Michael Kors “Uptown” Astor Shoulder Bag can be purchased at Nordstrom for $378, which is an amazing price for this bag. The shoulder tote retails for $448, and the satchel is priced at $398. For such a beautiful bag, I’d say the price tag is worth every penny!

Frugal Deal: Michael Kors Studio Bow Clutch

michael kors embossed: Michael Kors Studio Bow Clutch
I love clutches but I love Michael Kors more, and together they make one fine accessory. I’m currently drooling over the Michael Kors “Studio Bow” Clutch. I’m usually not one for croc embossed leather. To me, croc embossed leather just kills the idea of having real croc leather on a handbag. It has never looked appealing to me, but when I saw this clutch I think I may have had a change of heart.

What I love most about this clutch, as simple as it sounds, is the bow! I love when bags are “cutesy” and I think this clutch is the epitome of cute. I really think the bow is what sticks out the most in the clutch and helps the croc embossed leather look less tacky.

Another great thing about this clutch is that it’s so versatile. This clutch can be carried all year long, and day or night. It’s not too casual to only be used as a day clutch, and it’s not too fancy to only be carried during the evening. You could carry this clutch around wearing casual and fancy clothes. This clutch can be paired up with so many different looks that it definitely makes it all the more reason to buy it!

The Michael Kors “Studio Bow” can be purchased at Zappos for $302.75, which mind boggles me. The original price of this clutch was $599. How can a clutch that is made of croc embossed leather possibly cost almost $600? The most I would think this clutch would cost is $250, but boy was I way off. It’s a cute accessory to have, but I’m afraid to say it’s not worth that much. At least the sale price isn’t so bad. Right?

Michael Kors ID Chain Painted Python Hobo

Michael Kors Bag: Michael Kors ID Chain Painted Python Hobo
I’m absolutely obsessed with Michael Kors. He’s pretty much my favorite designer out there, and I’m starting to love everything he comes out with. At this moment, I’m drooling over the Michael Kors “ID Chain Painted Python Hobo.” It’s absolutely beautiful and is probably one of the prettiest exotic handbags I’ve ever seen.

This bag caught my attention strictly because of the colors. The python skin was painted an array of different shades of pink and black and together they make a beautiful color combination. I also love the chain detail on the sides of the bag. The chain goes perfectly with the black color shade featured on it.

What I find interesting about this handbag, is that unless you read the little nameplate on the front of the bag you have no idea who designed it. I think that’s an added bonus all on its own. It’s so beautiful that if it had “Michael Kors” all over it, it would probably take away from the beauty of it.

Overall, this is a beautiful handbag inside and out. I absolutely love that it was designed to be a hobo style bag. The hobo shape compliments the bag well, and is the final touch to make everything about this handbag look stunning! The only thing scary in the description of it was the price!
Michael Kors Purse: Michael Kors ID Chain Painted Python Bag
The Michael Kors “ID Chain Painted Python Hobo” can be purchased at Bloomingdales for $1,995. It’s a beautiful bag, but I’m not sure it’s worth that much. Then again, being that it is made of genuine python skin, a high price was expected. If you are looking to purchase an exotic bag, I would consider this one because the colors alone make it worthy to add to any handbag collection.
