Miu Miu Woven Leather Hobo Bag
Of course with the extravagant net-a-porter sale on dozens of last seasons designer handbags, it was only a matter a time before the new batch of spring / summer Miu Miu purses swept in and took over.

One of the latest new additions is the Miu Miu woven fringe hobo. The hobo is dressed in a woven pattern body and features double trails of fringe down each side. Not as dramatic as Miu Miu’s distant relatives version* – Prada’s Nappa Weave Flap Hobo. Still I have never been a fan of tassel fringe. I would get the urge to pull out the scissors and start snipping away. Or at least avoid this bag all together. What do you guys think? A hit or miss?

I am so crazy about the color purple! This season purple and patent leather has been seen everywhere, definitely a hot trend.

Miu Miu Balloon Gathered Top Tote
To me this newbie looks something like a super sized blown up plastic-ey looking leather bag (much like Marni’s Balloon Bag). Don’t get my wrong, when Marni’s balloon bag first made its debut a while back, I was a total fan of the puffy inflatable purse look, but now the thrill has died off. What do you guys and gals think? Is Miu Miu’s new swelled designer handbag a hit or miss?

The body of this purse is made of grained leather with a gathering effect at the top. Also features an easy-in/easy-out magnetic snap closure, double rolled leather handles plus a removable shoulder strap for the days you don’t feel like toting along your bag on the crook of your arm. Right now it’s only available in this red (Rosso) color with gold-tone hardware at Barney’s.

Rachel Roy’s Favs: Chanel Purse & Miu Miu Bag
Cutie fashion designer Rachel Roy is in the latest Allure magazine for this up-and-coming month of September, in a full-page display on page 190 where she reveals her fashion as well as beauty picks for autumn. And of course, being the bag-obsessed woman I am, my eyes fixed onto her latest must-have purse choices: the Chanel quilted canvas with goatskin trim and pearls beading around the border & the Miu Miu grey ostrich flap over handbag with gold hardware.

Miu Miu Boston Bag VS Marc Jacobs Delancy Purse
At first glance you probably think you are looking at the same bag but different styles within the line. Well you aren’t. The two bags above are from two completely different high-end designers and as you can see, look almost identical. Yeah sure the bags look very similar, in that if you are walking down the street someone might mistake one for the other, but the only major difference besides what the eye at a distance can see, is the price of course.

First Miu Miu came out with the pleated-style long east-west Boston satchel then Marc-ey Marc Jacobs quickly designed up his own very similar version, the Delancy bag. The differences: The Marc Jacobs bag is available in a slightly darker color of brown (cognac) with brass hardware, rivet detailing, feet on the base, the designers embossed luggage tag, a removable shoulder strap, and cotton herringbone lining. On the other side, the Miu Miu oversized purse is dressed in a soft lamb leather in a lighter shade of brown (cammello) with shinny gold colored hardware, buckle detailing along the hand straps, the designers signature pasted on the side, and a removable shoulder strap.

Both bags look so similar to me that the only main bump in the decision would be the price. The Marc by Marc Jacobs retails for only $695, while the Miu Miu carries a double price tag of $1,287. Huge difference, my vote is for the MJ.

Mary-Kate Olsen with Miu Miu Pleated Tie-Dye Clutch
Spotted: Posing for the camera’s at a recent dinner hosted by Nadja Swarovski in honor of the nominees and honorees of The 2007 CFDA Fashion Awards, Mary-Kate was snapped with the new Miu Miu Pleated Tie-Dye suede oversized clutch in hand.

This new line is available in an assortment of sizes from oversized clutches to gigantic duffle looking satchels (with the Boston handheld bag in between), and come in a variety of colors from wild looking tie-dye to plain print-less leather (with metallic in between).

I’m not that impressed with the tie-dye version, with the exception to Mary-Kates’s red on black suede oversized clutch. All of the other versions, especially the light color bags that feature a dark psychedelic print, look to me like a washer disaster or a pen explosion. I am though definitely a fan of the solid print-less Miu Miu bags, with the exception of MK’s. I love the pleated detailing - it’s just the right finishing touch.

Spotted: Poor little Kiera doesn’t look very happy in these photo’s. I guess that may very well be because there was one photographer following her around all day as she went on a leisurely stroll around Hyde Park with her boyfriend. But really, I don’t know why she wouldn’t feel otherwise when she’s out and about with the stunning new Miu Miu gold and silver handbag from the new SS ‘07 collection. I would be all smiles, like I just came from the dentist.

Celebrity | Lindsay Lohan | Miu Miu Ad Campaign
Update: Remember last November when I left all of you waiting for the ad campaign images to be released. Finally for those of you who haven’t seen it that is, we have a glimpse at Miu Miu’s 2007 Spring Fashion Campaign featuring Lindsay Lohan. Wahoo! When I first came across this picture I had to take a second glance to realize that it was Lilo.

I love the photo’s though. I am truly impressed.
