Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo Handbag

Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo Handbag
Recently, the Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo has been spotted on the arms of many celebrities. This includes Vanessa Minnillo, who was photographed some time ago with this handbag in yellow. Personally, I find the Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo to be quite attractive. The slouchy style is just perfect for everyday use. Plus I think the clips on the sides add a unique finishing touch. But there is something that I dislike about this handbag — its size! The Nikki Hobo is just enormous. And personally, I prefer a smaller handbag. But there is good news (at least for me anyway). Yep, you guessed it! The Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo is now available in mini size! And if you know anything about Rebecca Minkoff, it’s that her “mini” styles aren’t exactly mini. Instead, they end up being just the right size! Don’t believe me? Just compare Vanessa’s bag with the Mini Nikki Hobo pictured on the right. See… it’s just the right size, isn’t it?
The Rebecca Minkoff Mini Nikki Hobo measures 15″ x 12″ x 3.5″. It is currently available in Navy Luxe, Forest, Deep Red, Double Cream, Dark Brown, and Noir. It retails for $575.

Shiny New Sale - Going on Now at Shop Bop
Summer is officially over. It’s time to wave goodbye to your shorts and flip flops. Unfortunately, you won’t be needing them any longer (Dang, I love my flip flops!). For me, I’m really sad to see the summer end. It is probably my most favorite season. There isn’t snow on the ground and my allergies aren’t driving me up the wall. Plus I just love those lazy afternoons, where there’s nothing to do but sit around and enjoy your sweetie’s company.

But there is something good about the changing of the seasons. What is that you ask? Why it is all those End-of-Season sales, of course! Right now at Shop Bop, they are having their Shiny New Sale and they have tons of great handbags marked down. Below are a few of my favorites. They are all discounted by at least 30%.

Foley + Corinna Studded City Clutch
Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day? This beauty would work well for any season. Regularly $478, it’s on sale for $239.

Cynthia Rowley Ginny Athene Oversized Clutch
It’s a magazine clutch and it’s on sale! Who would have thunk it? Regularly $275, it’s on sale for $137.50.

Rebecca Minkoff Plan B Bag
The tangerine color is so scrumptious! And it’s just right for fall too! Regularly $655, it’s on sale for $327.50.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Totally Turnlock Quinn Bag
It’s MBMJ… what more can I say? Regularly $468, it’s on sale for $327.60.

Kooba Jacinda Patent Bag
This Kooba is such a nice, basic black handbag. Plus I love the patent leather! Regularly $595, it’s on sale for $416.50.

Find all of these styles, and much more, over at shopbop.com.

Rebecca Minkoff Jade Matinee Bag

September 8, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: bRs

Rebecca Minkoff Jade Matinee Bag
Green is one of my most favorite colors. I know that dark purple is supposed to be hot for Fall 2008 (and I really love dark purple as well), but for some reason I really want a green handbag right now. You wouldn’t think that green would work as a neutral color, but it surprisingly goes with a lot of things. I just wouldn’t suggest wearing it with red because you would start to resemble a Christmas tree (and it’s just a wee bit too early for that!). Shown above is the Rebecca Minkoff Matinee Bag in Jade. This style is not as popular as the Morning After Bag. And personally, it really isn’t something I could picture myself carrying. But I must admit, I love this shade of green. It just looks so yummy! Wouldn’t it look awesome paired with blue jeans?

The Rebecca Minkoff Matinee Bag is currently available in Jade over at Blue Fly. The bag measures 15″ x 7″ x 6″ and the rolled double handles have a 7″ drop. It features MANY exterior pockets which are great places to keep your cell phone and keys handy. The bag normally retails for $688, but it is currently on sale for $413.

Rebecca Minkoff Get Away Clutch

Rebecca Minkoff Get Away Clutch
Rebecca Minkoff Get Away Clutch
If there was a handbag designer awards event, Rebecca Minkoff definitely gets the award for best new and rising designer. Her bags have become more and more desired lately. Everything from the buttery leather to the sohpisticated shapes and styles makes it obvious why so many are wanting a piece by her. And if you’re one of them, you can now find the adorable RM Get Away clutch over at Bluefly for 20% off of retail or $201. But I’d hurry if I were you being that Bluefly’s stock changes quite often.

The Get Away Clutch is available in elephant, which is basically grey. It’s exterior has soft suede combined with distressed leather, which is a great texture contrast. And there is a belt-looking piece of leather that wraps around the clutch and loops through decorative silvertone brackets, which can be seen in the front. I love the little silver brackets because they add a stylish detail to the clutch. I think it would be plain without them. Also, the tops has a zipper and the interior is lined with canvas and includes patch pockets and a cell pocket. I must say a cell pocket is definitely a plus in a clutch! Lastly, this purse measure about 12″ x 8.5″ x 2″, which gives you plenty of room to store your essentials. Overall, I think this RM purse would be a great addition to any collection.

Find it now at Bluefly

Fall 2008 Designer Handbag Report

August 6, 2008

Fall 2008 Designer Handbag Report
Every time Fall comes around every Bagista thinks of what bag will be her “IT” bag for the season. Mostly all handbag lovers think of sporting around that gorgeous dark handbag that they absolutely adore. Some bagista’s might bring out some of their old stash that they only bring out at the end of the year and some might crave that new fall handbag they have seen all over the magazines and online.

I have never been one into trends in fact I hate trends. Having to wear specific colors in every season always seemed odd to me, especially when you live in a state (like me) where the climate is pretty much scorching hot all year round. For people that actually live in season changing climates trends are very popular. One of those trends are to go with dark colors in the fall. Every major designer brand always comes out with fabulous Fall handbags. My favorite colors for this years Fall 2008 handbags would black (as usual) and PURPLE! Purple is literally everywhere! It is claimed to be the Fall handbag color of the 2008 season. It seems like every designer brand out there is coming out with a purple handbag this fall. Some brands that have LOVELY purple handbags this fall are Chanel, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Mulberry to name a few.

Purple isn’t the only color to wear for Fall, there are also more traditional colors like brown, black, gray and pretty much anything that screams DARK. If it’s dark, dim, and dusky it’s a must for FALL!

For myself, I always look for big handbags, and the Fall is no exception. I love big handbags, especially in patent leather. Living in Florida, I don’t feel the need to follow trends, it’s 100 degrees all year round. But if I’m in NY, I must have that big, dark handbag, especially as I mentioned above, in Patent Leather. I absolutely love patent leather, it’s easy to care, stylish and sexy! I’m always on the lookout for a new hot patent leather handbag that comes out every Fall.

I have many favorite handbags for this Fall. My ultimate favorite is the Louis Vuitton Embrossed Speedy in Black but of course it comes with a hefty price tag of $2,700. If you have the mula, this is a definite MUST for Fall 2008.

Coming soon to eluxury

Another favorite of mine is the Purple Dr. Q Groove by Marc by Marc Jacobs. I’m really loving all the purple this Fall and this bag is just decadent in my opinion.

Rebecca Minkoff is a recent love of mine. I’m absolutely addicted to looking at her Morning After Mini. The style of this bag is absolutely amazing. It’s very practical and just all around beautiful. This bag and brown looks yummy!

Rebecca Minkoff Rendezvous Patent Clutch

July 26, 2008

Rebecca Minkoff Rendezvous Patent Clutch
Rebecca Minkoff Rendezvous Patent Clutch
Rebecca Minkoff — a name that has been circulating around the Bag Forum a lot lately. In fact, for many TBF members, a Rebecca Minkoff bag is truly one worth coveting! So why is there so much love for Rebecca Minkoff handbags? Is it the gorgeous colors? Or the super soft leather? Or is it the amazingly comfortable, yet chic, style that can be found in each of these handbags? If I were to ask my fellow TBF’ers, I’m sure they would say it is all of these things (and much, much more)!

Now everyone is familiar with the Morning After Bag (the bag that Minkoff designed for actress Jenna Elfman). This bag, along with many of her other styles, are known for being big and roomy. So when I saw this Rendezvous Clutch, I was a little bit surprised. Not because Rebecca Minkoff hasn’t made small bags before, because she has. But because she somehow made this clutch the size of, what I would consider, a normal handbag. I realize that magazine clutches were hot for awhile, and maybe they still are. But when I look at this bag, I find myself wanting to stick a shoulder strap on it. Perhaps its the fact that it has metal feet and a zippered closure (as opposed to a fold-over style). Aside from this little set back though, I do find the purple patent leather to be quite delightful. But then again, who doesn’t like purple patent? Yummy!

The Rebecca Minkoff Rendezvous Patent Clutch measures 14″ x 11″ x 3″ and it retails for $375. The interior features two multifunction pockets and the closure comes complete with an actual lock and key. Available in various colors, but you can find it in Purple over at shopbop.com.

Rebecca Minkoff Henri Tote

July 13, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: BrS

Rebecca Minkoff Henri Tote
Featured in A Fall Ride by Rebecca Minkoff, the Henri Tote is one of the brand new styles for Fall 2008. This particular bag grabbed my attention while I was checking out all of the new stuff Rebecca Minkoff had to offer. The bag has a unique appearance that still stays true to the typical style of this designer. It is similar in size and shape to the Matinee. However it lacks the little “ears” on the ends and has replaced them with zippered pockets instead. In fact, the bag almost reminds me of a gym bag. Don’t those pockets on the ends look like they are meant to hold your ear buds and iPod? Maybe your spare socks could go inside the other one?

Alright, I’ll be serious now. The Rebecca Minkoff Henri Tote may not be the most typical-looking of handbags. But you can rest assured that it is roomy, functional, and constructed of the ultra soft leather that the designer is known for. The bag measures 15″ x 7″ x 7″ and has a zippered main compartment. The double handles and detachable shoulder strap give this bag convenience and versatility. It retails for $675 and is available in Dark Brown over at shopbop.com.
