Many times, I have looked at the Stella McCartney Zebra-Print Wool Clutch over at Net-A-Porter (.com). It’s strange, really. I’ll see the thumb-nail picture there and I can’t resist the urge to click on it to view the product details. So I finally I decided I might as well write about it… since, for some reason, I can’t seem to stop looking at it.

So what exactly is drawing me in when I see this clutch? The Stella McCartney Zebra-Print Wool Clutch isn’t anything super spectacular. But I do like the simple shape, the soft pleating, and the tone-on-tone zebra print. I also like the unique interior design of this clutch. The top unsnaps and the clutch folds out flat. The interior features both a framed, kiss-lock pouch and a deep zippered pocket. At the very least, it’s mesmerizing to look at while you try to figure out how everything works. This clutch may not pack a huge punch, but I think it would be great for someone looking for a simple black clutch with just a hint of spunk. Of course, you can’t really go wrong with anything that is basic black.

Here’s something you don’t see on your typical tote bag. Leave it to Stella McCartney to apply a cloud-print design to her shopper, the perfect piece for the daydreamer in you. The overall appearance is busy, yet peaceful and calm. Although I’m not sure if this is something I would actually carry around with me. We all have our inner child likings of fun and cute stuff, and these repetitive fluffs fit into the category. I can see how this would make a great overnight bag, a book tote for my trendy high school sister, or maybe a really fun diaper bag. Pair this tote with shorts and sandals, or capris and flirty tops for a great summery look.

Most of the time, Bag Bliss readers will hear about how much I love the Spring and Summer months. While I do enjoy the nice weather and the fact I’m not freezing my butt off 24/7, there is actually something I don’t like about Spring. What is it, you ask? Getting back into a regular workout routine! During the winter months, I seem to have little to no motivation to exercise and it is so hard to get started again once you’ve stopped for awhile. Marc Jacobs has his frogs. Dooney has its zebra and giraffe. And, now, Stella McCartney has her… bugs? Introducing the Stella McCartney Metallic Linen Clutch. Gold linen was paired with bright orange piping trim to create this very unique clutch. Adorning the front flap of this clutch is a whimsical bug brooch. What kind of bug is it? I’m leaning towards cicada. And when I think of cicadas, I think of warm and breezy evenings in the summer time. Although this clutch might not be for everyone, I can definitely see it paired with a bright colored sun dress for a nice summer wedding. Bag Trend: The canvas shoulder strap
A lot of designers this season are going through a sporty strap phase. Where instead of the usual leather or chain strap, the bags are topped off with a thick detachable cotton canvas shoulder strap. What do you guys think of it?

When it comes to comfort, I’m not complaining. Especially when it comes to a day bag that might be on my shoulder for 4+ hours. Like for instance when you’re out on a shopping trip, you don’t want to carry a bag that’s uncomfortable on your shoulder or that will keep you fidgeting every 5 minutes to keep from sliding down.

Stella McCartney Designs for LeSportsac
Finally! Last year we revealed the collaboration between Fashion designer and PETA supporter Stella McCartney, and lightweight American handbag and luggage company, LeSportsac. Well its been a little bit over a year later and the new line is set to make it’s long awaited debut when February rolls around on LeSportsac.com.

Here’s a snippet from FWD:

The 17 piece Spring/Summer 2008 collection, which launches in February on LeSportsac.com, is a 100 percent eco-friendly collection made from recycled materials, down to the biodegradable dust bags each bag comes with. They feature oversized hardware, or “shoulder jewelry” as McCartney terms it,” extensive pockets both inside and out, signature McCartney parachute pulls and quilted fabrics in two color palettes – “Pop,” which features eye-catching oranges and blues, and “Posh,” a more subdued, sophisticated palette of soft mauves and dusty pinks.
