I for one am a huge fan of Tod’s handbags. As well as their shoes.. as I sit here in my office wearing a pair of cobalt blue suede pumps by Tod’s. Totally comfortable by the way. I can walk miles in them!

When it comes to Tod’s handbags, all I really have to say is: What’s not to love? To this day, Tod’s has never failed in pleasing me. Simple, clean designs are often paired with eye-popping colors. You can have an attention grabbing handbag without the worry of looking too gaudy. Take, for example, the Tod’s Easy Sacca Grande. I have it pictured here in Saffron Yellow. Most people shy away from a yellow bag. But when you take the simple style of this bag into consideration, you really can’t deny that this would be such a fun bag for summer. The only thing I would change about this bag is the handles. I think handles that are the same color as the rest of the bag (or even white handles!) would suit this look much better. Tod’s Iris Grande Bag
Tod’s — a designer brand that loves to combine luxury with all of the casual things in life. I have to hand it to Diego, that guy has great taste. Now I’m not saying that Tod’s handbags are for everyone. But if you’re looking for simple shapes and subtle details, these handbags might be just what you’re looking for. Take, for example, the Iris Grande Bag. I like the simple, hobo shape. The top stitching and little tassel ties add just the right amount of interest. Plus you would have never guessed that this bag has a frame opening. I have always liked framed styles because I think they look so cool when you open them up. And the gentle gathering on either side of the bag? Love it! The only thing I dislike is the Tod’s label on the front of the bag. But this is typical of most Tod’s Handbags. For some reason they want everyone to know that they are the makers of said handbag. So what does everyone else think of the Tod’s Iris Grande Bag? Would it make a nice, casual handbag?

The Tod’s Iris Grande Bag is available in Baltic Blue and Argilla (a grayish-brown color). The bag measures 18″ x 11″ x 7″ and has a 7″ strap drop. The smooth leather is lightly polished to give it a subtle sheen.

Picking out a brand new handbag probably leaves us bag lovers with one of the best feelings in the world. When it comes to the selection process, however, many woman don’t take into consideration how the handbag might affect their overall appearance. The truth of the matter is, the wrong handbag can totally break an outfit. But if this is true, then that means the right style handbag can totally make an outfit by drawing attention away from one area and directing it toward another. Pairing the right style of handbag with your body type can be just as flattering as a pair of perfectly-cut jeans.

So which style works best with which body types?

If you are PETITE:
Smaller people can easily become overwhelmed by large handbags. Small to medium shoulder bags are your best bet. If you want to create an illusion of height, then pick a style that is taller than it is wide.

Fashion on Film: Bride Wars
Every once in a while, Hollywood graces us with a movie that provides us fashionistas with stunning fashion and enviable style to drool over. The characters are like walking advertisements for the most famous designers. The last movie that I can remember of this stature was “The Devil Wears Prada.” I watched it again recently, and a couple of years later I still love the haute fashion worn in the movie. The next movie for us to look forward to with fabulous fashion is Bride Wars. This movie isn’t based on anything fashion related…but more like brides and weddings, but it features to of Hollywood’s hottest and trendiest actresses, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. I have seen some on the scene shots from this movie and the outfits and accessories are tres chic.

The above picture features a shot from the movie featuring Anne and Kate. They are both carrying two extremely cute bags. Anne’s bag is the Coach Gigi Leather Tote. I found it on Coach.com for $658. Anne’s bag is in the walnut color and also comes in camel and black. It features turnlock details and vintage leather. This bag is roomy and chic and is the perfect everyday bag. It also comes in great colors that can go with almost any outfit.

Kate’s bag is the Tod’s T Bag tote. It features black patent leather and large front pockets that give it a funky appeal. It’s large and roomy and gives your outfit that extra spunk. I found it on saks.com for $1,500. This bag definitely makes Kate’s character look like a stylish diva.

I can’t wait until Bride Wars comes out, not just because I love these actresses but because they give us high expectations of what type of fashion we can look forward to. This should definitely be a fashionista film.
