If there’s one regret 2011 that I couldn’t achieve was not being able to obtain certain fashion pieces throughout the seasons. I’m leaving this year with more on my want list than on my acquired list. The good thing (or sometimes good thing) about the fashion world is that designers update their products instantaneously; hence with time, it’s impossible for your lust list to remain short. So my three favorite handbag selections, in random order, for the 2011-year were also three pieces that I unfortunately didn’t add to my collection, yet will carry over into the 2012-year.

There’s a new Couture House that kept the oversized studs fashionable and popular. Alexander Wang carried a distinctive collection of handbags that carried hardware in abundance. Hobos, satchels and my favorite, the Diego Bucket Bag; each arrived with a unique silhouette and a uniformed array of metal studs at the base.

This year sure went by fast and along with it; I take with me a mental collage of some of my favorite leather goods and accessories from throughout the seasons. Us bagista’s know which designers were hot, which weren’t, the ones who drastically emerged and the ones who had the nerve to copy some other House’s original designs. When it comes to my favorite designer of 2011, my preference goes to the designs of someone who perhaps isn’t classified as being a Couture House and to one who carries accessories ranging in different styles, colors, price ranges and personalities.

It’s that time of the season when all of our favorite boutiques slash prices to make room for the new season. And hey, I’m not complaining one bit, and you wont either once you see all the gorgeous bags, shoes, clothing and accessories in the sale section. Gotta love those deals!
Here are a few of my favorites from the sale:

I don’t deny that I love classic handbags. I love the sleek lines, tailoring and the never-go-out-of-style security that when I buy a quality bag, I’m going to carry it for years. So, it was incredibly difficult to narrow down my choices for classic bags for giving. These are some of my favorites and they show that classic isn’t boring!

Gucci Diana Bag
A beautiful classic bag featuring Gucci’s timeless bamboo handles features this striking cobalt blue. I’m completely obsessed with this color and don’t think I will stop for a long time to come. Another season-less color that goes with more than you think! For the special girl who loves classic style but with a fashion forward sensibility, this is the perfect bag! $2,150 at Saks Fifth Avenue

This season, designers have delivered some of the brightest and trendiest pieces in a while. We’ve seen a mass array of color blocking, heavy set satchels, chunky hardware and attractive animal prints. I’m always in appreciation for something new, but it’s the classic bits that you simply can’t resist. I have yet to obtain a simple black handbag with gold-toned hardware. I lack one in my collection and every time I wish I had one, I wonder why I haven’t obtained such a universal must-have.

One of my favorite designers at the moment is Tory Burch. I know I’ve mentioned that before, but I thought I would refresh your mind. I have a crazy obsession with clutches and I’ve always loved the envelope style clutch. It doesn’t seem practical and I’m not sure what can actually fit in them but I love them.

We are about the approach the season of sparkle and holiday reds! Whether you can efficiently pull of shades of crimson or if you’re a simple admirer of the trend, designers and artists are giving us their best bags in the hottest reds for the season.

Burberry presents one of its best with the Burberry Leather Mini Bag. Its bowling bag shape is lined in one of the riches naturally grained leathers from the collection. The fire hydrant red along with gold-toned hardware makes this satchel the perfect holiday essential.
