Versace Handbags & Purses

Versace fringed boho

With all the coverage of the Coachella music festival, I’ve been inspired for the Boho looks on everyone. How easy, romantic, earthy and down to earth everyone looks! Of course, Kate Hudson and Nicole Richie have been rockin’ Boho for several years and now with the starlets Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus embracing the look, it should be on the radar for awhile to come. Considering the publicity these ladies garner, you can understand why the Versace Fringed Leather and Twill Cross Body Bag caught my eye.

Versace Pyramid Stud Shoulder Bag

Here’s a designer bag fit for the inner punk chic in you. Although this piece is not my taste at all, I like the ‘tough girl’ statement that it is sending. With all those heavy looking studs and metal detailing, this shoulder bag can easily be classified as a personal weapon as well; but the Italian House of Versace calls it the Studded Leather Shoulder bag, instead. Donatella’s designs sure can be fierce, and this piece was no exception.

A classic pouch like silhouette arrives in thick black leather with countless oversized squared studs and more. Simply flip the heavy front flap over to reveal the florescent green and tan silk interior to this three compartment shoulder bag. This Versace bag probably wouldn’t make the best candidate for a work, everyday, or formal evening piece; but you sure can pull it off with your casual jeans and tee look for a night out in town.

Versace Woven Runway Bucket Bag

Versace Woven Leather Bucket Bag
You never know what to expect out of Donatella Versace and her unusual designs each season. One thing is for sure, you’re either going to love them or hate them, regardless, it’s what makes the House of Versace stand out much. Of course other factors such as steep price tags, more than enough details and very distinctive handbag silhouettes are key when it comes to the Italian fashion label, such as what we see in the Woven Leather Bucket Bag. To weave leather, craftsmanship must be precise and neat and frankly, I’m not feeling the work done on this Versace. Perhaps it’s the extras of vibrant orange panels that run down the sides of this bucket that throw its look off, should they have stuck with all camel leather throughout, instead? Versace loves color and a pale pink interior pouch they placed inside this bucket bag, along with drawstring leather pulls and a white satin lining.

Versace Scream Shopper

versace handbags: Versace Scream Shopper
Versace has always been a fan of adding so many textiles and designs onto their accessories in fear of their goods looking too ordinary. Of course, their latest piece arrives adorned with more features than the average bagsita could handle.

Just take a glimpse at one of their latest S/S collection handbags, the Scream Shopper. I took me a while to actually examine the entire bag, detail by detail, and it’s taking me even longer to decide if I’d give this a thumbs up or down. One thing is for sure, there’s no doubt that this shopper is very unique and quite lovely due to the colors used throughout this bag.

Tips on how to care for Patent Leather

Versace Mini Quilted Patent Leather Satchel

I love patent leather handbags. In fact, I would say I’m pretty much obsessed with patent leather. Something about patent leather is just so edgy, but yet sexy to me. Regular leather can be so boring sometimes, and I see patent leather as the “more” fun version of leather.

What really catches my eye about patent leather is the shininess of it. I always thought regular leather can be so dull looking, then you have patent leather that has that shiny sparkle to it.

I currently have two patent leather handbags, that I take very good care of. I will admit though, patent leather is really high maintenance.

The best way to take care of a patent leather handbag, is to simply not use them as everyday bag. I say this for two reasons: Patent Leather loses it shine after a while when used everyday and it also scratches very easily. One little scratch on the leather and it’s there forever. If you aren’t the type of person that is extra careful with your handbags, then it’s probably not in your best interest to get a patent leather handbag.

On the other hand, patent leather is very easy to clean. If you ever spill soda, or get food on the bag you can easily clean it! Soda or food would normally stain a canvas or light leather handbag. With patent leather, you can easily clean the leather with a wash cloth, water, and some soap.

Patent leather has it’s pro’s and con’s, but it looks amazing on a handbag. If you don’t have a patent leather handbag I suggest buying one and I promise you’ll never regret it!

Versace’s “New Couture” Bag

Versace Handbags: Versave New Couture Purse
I’m usually one for only satchel like handbags. In fact, most of my handbags are satchels from Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton. I’ve never been one to like shoulder bags. For some reason, they always seemed to hurt or fall off my shoulder. My shoulder may be in trouble though, because I’ve been drooling over lots of shoulder bag lately.

One of the shoulder bags that I’m in love with is the Versace “New Couture” Leather hobo. This handbag is stunning, and kind of reminds me of the discontinued “Griet” bag. I always loved the “Griet”, but I couldn’t purchase it at the time. Now the “Griet” is sold out world wide, and it’s so great to see a bag that kind of resembles it.

I love the quilted leather, and snap-tab closure featured on the bag. Even the gold hardware goes amazing with the white leather. I think this would make such a beautiful handbag to use in the Spring. White handbags do take a lot of work to keep clean, but when a bag is this beautiful it may be worth the extra maintenance.

If you don’t like this handbag in white, or you’re just simply scared to spend that much money on a handbag that could get dirty never fear because it also comes in black and green. I personally don’t like the green color at all, but the black is stunning. In all honesty, this handbag probably looks more beautiful in black than white. The price is extremely high, so it’s probably better to purchase this bag in black anyways. To spend thousands on a bag that may get filthy isn’t worth it. Well at least to me it isn’t.

The Versace “New Couture” Leather Hobo can be purchased at Nordstrom for $2,295. The bag is stunning, but I think the price is way too high for it. If I’m going to spend that much on a bag, I’d probably put it towards an Hermes “Birkin“. A “Birkin” costs much more than that, but it would be a good amount to start a “bag fund” with.
