Yves Saint Laurent Animal Print Muse Two Bag
by Deysa on June 18, 2009 11 comments
Yves Saint Laurent has taken one of their most popular styles to the jungle; meet the exotic animal print Muse Two. I’ve always been a fan of the infamous Muse Two bag, and the variety of leathers and colors you could pick from has always been great, although I’m not too thrilled about their leopard print version. You must be super diva or possibly Carrie Bradshaw in order to pull this bag off, as it’s definitely head turning and tribal. Don’t get me wrong animal print lovers, as I do admire exotic prints on accessories, just not this theme in particular. I really think what gets to me about this bag is the fact that it’s made of pony skin, as I’m not too fond of uncommon leathers. I personally would pass on the leopard print Muse Two, but for the ladies who admire this piece, I can see what how elegant and classic this bag is for being an animal print accessory.

This luxe tote could be worn on the shoulder or crook of the arm, and features multiple compartments for your necessities. Also, who knew silver toned hardware would look so good on this YSL bag. This exotic piece comes with a hefty price tag of $2,295 and can be purchased: Here @ NET-A-PORTER.COM

Buti Croco Drawstring Tote!
by BrS on May 26, 2009 11 comments
Today, I stumbled across an extremely delicious-looking handbag. Introducing the Buti Croco Drawstring Tote. Now you may be asking yourself, “Who the heck is Buti?” Don’t worry, I had absolutely no clue either. All I knew about Buti was that it was an area within the Tuscany region of Italy. But I did a little digging and it turns out the company was born back in 1958 when two brothers, Pilade and Ilo, created their first handbag out of leather and cherry wood. The company is known for their attention to detail, quality, and yummy Italian leathers.
What I like about the Buti Croco Drawstring Tote, however, is the gorgeous color. I just love the Fuchsia! In fact, I’m not sure if I would be as attracted to this bag if it was in a more neutral color. I also like the croco print and the drawstring detail. There really isn’t much that I dislike about this bag. I even like it’s little sister, the Buti Croco Drawstring Satchel! Which, I might add, comes in an oh-so yummy Orange (see below)!

The Buti Croco Drawstring Tote measures 16″ x 12″ x 3.5″. It retails for $870. Find it at the FORZIERI Official Site!

by Jennifer on May 19, 2009 12 comments
Just in: The deal is set. Windsong Brands LLC has bought Carlos Falchi.
WWD has reported that Windsong, who already has brands like Ellen Tracy, Caribbean Joe, Joe’s Jeans and Field & Stream under it’s belt, has high hopes for the Carlos Falchi label. Their goal within the next few years is to turn Falchi, which currently brings in $10 million and increase it to $20 to $30 million within the next few years. Additionally there are plans to extend into men’s accessories and even a leather jacket line.
Falchi will act as chief designer and creative director, and will no longer be involved in operational activities. He will conduct more personal appearances and focus on merchandising.
The signature line with exotic skins starts at about $1,000 and goes up to $40,000 for a large alligator satchel. The average sale is roughly $3,000. Leather bags range from $400 to $800.

Christian Dior Two-Textured Bag
by Deysa on May 17, 2009 11 comments
Extra stiff and bringing in some serious bling is the Two-Textured Leather Satchel by Christian Dior. A feminine crescent shaped shoulder bag is produced with an assortment of pleated pebbled and crocodile textured leathers. You either love, hate or simply don’t mind the array of different leathers, but what stands out above all has got to be the numerous amount of studs and hardware found on this single piece. Over decorated with grommets and buckles, I can’t decide whether I find this piece to be tasteful or tacky. I’m the kind of Bagista that likes hardware and shine on my handbags, but designers do tend to go overboard every once in a while on décor, and unfortunately, I think this bulky satchel happens to be yet another victim of this abuse.

After multiple views and never ending grommet appliqué, I’ve decided this bag is a nay in my book. Somehow, the excessive décor tends to cheapen the value of this $2,950 couture satchel. Ladies what’s your input on this handbag, would you buy this?
If you’re liking this fan-shaped bag, you can pick up own at Saks.com and receive free shipping (on orders over $200) with promo code: SPRSHIP9

Marc by Marc Jacobs Croc Of Q Linda Clutch
by Jennifer on May 7, 2009 14 comments
Earlier today I posted about the emerald green Givenchy Crocodile Melancholia Clutch, which carries a retail of $813.58.. If you love the crocodile-embossed style, but are looking for a more recession friendly price tag, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Croc Of Q Linda Clutch is worth checking out.
The Croc of Linda is made by MJ’s secondary, cheaper line, “Marc by Marc Jacobs”. The clutch is styled out of a high-gloss croc embossed patent leather (available in green or midnight blue) and comes accessorized with logo detailed hardware and a jumbo signature patch slapped on the front. The size is pretty generous, more like an oversized clutch. You can probably fit the basics in there: a wallet, cosmetic pouch, keys and a cell phone. The mouth of the bag is kept closed with a simple magnetic closure, but when popped open reveals a wild multicolor printed interior lining with zip pocket and multifunctional slip pockets. Dimensions: 14″ wide across bottom, 15″ wide across center, 13 1/4″ wide across top x 1″ deep x 8 1/4″ high. The Linda also comes with an attachable strap. Strap drop: 9 1/2″ length.

The beauty above is available in an eye-catching emerald and midnight blue, over at Zappos. The retail is $250.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs Linda is also available over at net-a-porter.

Emerald Green Givenchy Crocodile Embossed Melancholia Clutch
by Jennifer on May 7, 2009 15 comments
There is just something about this clutch that leaves me in total and complete awe. The hand-held style, crocodile-look (which is actually calfskin leather) combined with that intense emerald green… wow, I just love green accessories for spring!
What I love most about this clutch is the striking, super glossy, vivid green color really pops out, opposed to a black or some other neutral-toned clutch, this one will really catch some attention. Also it’s a great color to accessorize any look, for any season.
Designed by Givenchy, it’s the new Melancholia Clutch. This luxurious bag is made completely of faux crocodile-embossed calfskin leather and features a flap front with magnetic snap closure. The interior of this beauty is lined with a zipper pocket and two organizational pockets. I would say this clutch is a good size for a day or evening bag. The dimensions are about 13″ width, 7.5″ high x 1″ deep, which is a decent size for a clutch. You can probably stuff in there your wallet, cellphone, and your favorite pair of lipstick.
The Givenchy clutch is available at luisaviaroma, where it retails for… get ready.. $813.58.
What do you guys think of this green Givenchy? Are you for the spring green purse trend?

Bottega Veneta Large Veneta Crocodile Bag
by Deysa on April 30, 2009 12 comments
If you’ve got some big bucks to spend on a not so common handbag, have I found a nominee for you. Take a look at the Large Veneta Crocodile Bag by Bottega Veneta. When I hear Bottega Veneta with crocodile in the same sentence, I’m thinking the asking price sums up to a big stack of cash. Sure enough the asking price for this piece is a good $19,500!
This Bottega is definitely way out of my price range, as it would easily cover a good year and a half of my college tuition. For the fortunate ladies who can obtain such a piece, this timeless and elegant shoulder bag sure is stunning. This luxury handbag comes in caramel hued crocodile leather, which is different from your typical brown or black croc skins, yet the color is neutral enough to match with practically any color of clothing. Plus the slouchy hobo style is practical enough to carry through day and night; I don’t see how this style would be uncomfortable to wear. Weaved trim and brown suede lining can also be found on this hobo.

Measuring in at 20” x 12” x 2” you can pick up this luxe handbag via: *NET-A-PORTER*
Thrifty Thrill Alert: Prefer leather over exotic? Oh and of course, how does 20% off sound? Over at Bluefly they just added a dozen NEW Bottega Veneta handbags, which can still be found for full price at most other department stores. Just check out that new aqua tote!!
