In recent years, the handbag world has been loving fun, edgy bags covered in studs and fringe. Shapes have been varied from slouchy hobos, trapezoids, rounds and so much variety. And while Chanel and Brikin are still quintessential “IT” bags, there has been less focus on the lady bag. Structure, polish and top-handles are key components of a lady bag. We are familiar with Dior “Lady Dior” bags and Valentino floral bags that beg to be carried in lady-like style. With chic glamorous sheath dresses and uptown look being one of the major fashion trends, it’s no surprise that we are seeing more lady-like bags on the radar.

Reed Krakoff’s introduction last month gave us lady-like styling with masculine and more modern architectural elements. The 510 Tote in amazing rich teal is a satchel that has clean lines, smooth rich leathers and a modern proper-ness about it that inspires one to be sharply dress and head off to lunch with the most prominent of the “who’s who”. I adore this bag and for only $1150, it’s a find that’s incredibly well made and quite lovely.
