Convertible Bag: The Antrobus by Alison Antrobus
I was doing some online shopping and came across a most unusual bag. It was unlike any other bag I have ever seen. On the outside it looked like a stylish, chic handbag, but the inside consisted of complex compartments and design. It combined architecture and fashion into one bag to create a stylish and practical way to carry around your most prized, everyday necessities. This bag is the Antrobus Bag created by Alison Antrobus. It is a handbag/drawer set/clutch converting bag. It was created to suit any and all of your needs. The Antrobus Bag is black leather with brushed golden accents. It begins as a geometric carryall where a two-drawer box can be pulled out and detached, making the top portion of the bag a smaller shoulder bag. The bottom portion of the bag can be zipped off and used as a clutch. The bottom portion of the bag is offered in additional colors allowing you to change the look of the bag.

This bag is amazing! Its more like 3 bags in one…a large carryall, a smaller shoulder bag, and a clutch. It retails at $1,250 at vivre.com and three bags at that price definately isn’t a bad deal. The Antrobus Bag provides style, function, practicality and organization. This certainly is a bag of all trades!

Diesel Mitchell Briefcase Guy Bag
Lately I’ve been on the lookout for a simple messenger-style, over the shoulder bag that’s spacious enough to carry around my macpro plus have tons of extra multifunctional pockets for my everyday stuff. Then on a recent trip to Diesel I spotted this bag.. the Diesel Mitchell Briefcase in black. What I like most about it, well besides the pockets and many compartments, is that it best matches the business/casual style I was looking for, without looking too young or too formal.

This bag is made from a combination of aged-looking black leather and nylon with a main zip pocket as well as two external zip pockets on the outside. To fit a laptop and any other things needed for everyday business, the measurements of the bag are 3.9in depth, 13.7in height, and 15.6 inch width. The bag also features an adjustable black leather shoulder strap. Not a fan of black? Also comes in a brown with carmel trim.

Also the price isn’t bad. The reasonable retail price falls along the line of $235. And hey, it wont dip into my girlfriends designer purse fund. hah.

Geek Chic: The Prada Ombre Laptop Bag
Dear stylish students, professionals, and laptop lovers,

We finally have our very own chic laptop bag! Our good friends at Prada decided that it was time to indulge those of us who appreciate some geek chic. Prada has come out with the “Prada Ombre Laptop Bag.” It is grey and silver patent leather, displaying the Prada symbol in the bottom center of the bag and provides an adjustable strap and interior padding for protection. It is medium-sized and fits most laptops. Retailing at $1,116 this bag might be as expensive as your laptop but it’s a fashionable way to tote around your computer everyday.

As a law student, I need my laptop all the time…at school, my internship, the café at 2am when I’m studying…etc. If I was going to be carrying something around with me that often I wanted it to look as stylish as my clothes and shoes.

Unfortunately, the majority of laptop bags are big, black, bulky, and non-designer. While I don’t completely love the style and coloring of the Prada Ombre, it does offer a new chic and couture alternative to carrying around your laptop. It is also simple enough to match almost anything and its patent leather makes it trendy enough to keep you looking stylish. Hopefully, this will start a new trend and more designers will follow in Prada’s footsteps and make more chic laptop bags.

Christian Louboutin Fred Duffle Bag
Blue is definitely hot this season and the new canvas Fred Duffle Bag by Christian Louboutin is neatly trimmed with gorgeous bright blue leather. This new piece by CL is definitely not your average canvas bag as the exterior stud detail, uncommon style of zippered pockets and convertibility add an awesome twist on a known, simpler classic. And what’s also great about this duffle is the inspiration of the red lined interior from the famous underlying red trademark seen on his shoes. Since this bag reminds me of summer, especially with the vivid blue leather and classic canvas combo, I could see this as the perfect bag for upcoming boating that I’ll do.

The new duffle by CL is convertible and features two leather top handles with a 5″ drop length, and an adjustable shoulder strap with a strap drop length that elongates up to 14.5″. The handles can be used when the top is pushed down in more of a handbag style, while the strap can easily and comfortably be worn over the shoulder like a tote. The interior has red nylon lining, two zip pockets, and a special holder for your cell. And the size is 15″x12″x7″, which I think is perfect for a day bag. Though I think I might have to wait to see if this goes on sale because $1,495 is a little out of my price budget for a canvas bag.

Red is Always Right
Yesterday, was the official date that British designer John Galliano (Juan Carlos Antonio Galliano Guillen) debut his new accessory line to the fashion world.

The new collection is made up of 100 styles: small leather goods, messenger bags, shoulder bags, doctor satchels, hobos, and even luggage. Materials used in the line include faux oilskin leathers, washed nylon, distressed calfskin with a vintage feel and kilim-printed corduroy. The fall selection includes a variety of styles infused with iconic John Galliano details such as prints, appliques and embroideries. The “romantic” theme collection features the Galliano logo in blush pink and decorations that include gemstone embroideries, lacework, heart-shaped metal charms, keys and the letter G. Pictured above is the black-and-white Gazette print bag, also available in shades of brown.

Opening: Jerome Dreyfuss Boutique, Paris
French bag designer Jerome Dreyfuss, the handbag designer behind the previously mentioned multifunctional expandable Bernard bag and the squishy Twee Mini Cross Body Bag, has opened his first boutique over on Rue Jacob in Saint Germain, situated next door to his wife Isabel Marant’s boutique.

The 400 square foot space is designed to resemble a Fifties gym changing room.

update Mrs. Lafleire said: So there were no designer handbags at this sale. (*sigh of disappointment*) But there are some nice Chanel pieces from a couple seasons ago. Mostly jackets and skirts. Jennifer snatch up a Chanel Cruise 2006 Boucle Blazer with Camellia Brooch for only $1200 (reg $5480). In the beginning everything ’sold out’ pretty quickly. However, every now and then if you go back to the site you will notice that an item is available again. My only guess is that someone had it in their shopping bag for a couple hours then changed their mind.

Designer Gucci Hearts New York Handbag Collection
Come February, Gucci will be opening their doors to the world’s largest, brand new Flagship Store over at 725 Fifth Avenue. For the new boutique, the brands creative director Frida Giannini has designed a selection of exclusive products named “Gucci Hearts NY,” that are to be sold exclusively at the new location.

Here’s a snippet from FWD:

The first collection, “Gucci Hearts NY,” is an ode to the city, where Gucci first opened its doors in 1953. Giannini has taken Gucci’s iconic webbing and its GG pattern canvas and reinterpreted them in white, shiny GG canvas complemented by bold red and royal blue stripes. The “Gucci Hearts NY” moniker, which uses Guccio Gucci’s iconic signature, has been irreverently stamped across the fabric.

Among the product offerings in this category are the Joy handbag, offered in three different sizes, as well as a silk scarf, priced from $320 to $770. The Coach Bleecker Tattersall Shopping Bag

Stepped into a Coach Boutique lately and notice the striking similarity between their shopping bags and the Coach Bleecker Tattersall bag line? Emma Hill named Creative Director for Mulberry
Katie Grand is out and Emma Hill is in! Earlier this week the BagLady reported that Katie Grand quit Mulberry before she even started. Now new reports are flooding in that UK-born Emma Hill has been crowned the new Creative Director. It was published only hours ago in Vogue, where it was announced that the British designer Emma Hill would be taking up the position in time for the Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

Designer Emma Hill is well-known for work on several of the world’s leading brands, such as Chloe, Marc Jacobs, and even Gap.
