Vanessa Bruno Athe Slouchy Tote

December 17, 2007

Vanessa Bruno Athe Slouchy Tote
How many times have you searched for a well-made tote that’s spacious as well as universal for everyday use, plus retails for under $500. And not designed by Dooney or Coach. Not like I have anything against those brands, but on most occasions when I get a “help me find” type of email the person on the other end says, please no Dooney or Coach. Can you blame them? Everybody and their mom, grandma, sister, aunt, maybe an uncle and even pet own a coach type authentic bag or (unsightly) replica.

Anyway, if on the hunt for a non-signature everyday tote, look no more, check out this Vanessa Bruno Athe Slouchy Tote, it’s going for a mere $334. Such a great find.

The slouchy-style body is dressed in black leather (only avail in black at this time) and features double arm straps that is just the right length to carry on your arm or over the shoulder (drop 8.5”). Other decorative features include the canvas panel detailing, buckle details on the corners, studs at the top, press stud fastenings, and a small zipped pouch pocket on the inside. The bag measures in at 13″ width x 13″ height x 8″ depth. So it’s the perfect size to carry really anything – laptop, files, wallet, etc. Again, only $334!

I love this tote, actually I’ve fallin’ head-over-heels for this whole outfit. The skinny jeans, sexy Vanessa Bruno Athe top, Christian Louboutin pumps and the Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace. All which can be found at net-a-porter.

Designer Purse Deal: Jas MB Scaled Leather Tote Handbag

November 5, 2007

Designer Purse Deal: Jas MB Scaled Leather Tote Handbag
Who is Jas M.B.? Back in the early 90’s Jas Sehmi established his accessories label, which was originally called IMB. Then in 2000 the handbag designer added more to the mix, by moving from not only working with nylon and canvas materials but with fine Italian leather as well – as a result, we now have his new line Jas M.B.

Pictured above is the Jas MB Scaled leather tote, which just so happens to be resting on the virtual clearance section of nap where it’s retailing for 30% off. This bag is new to mark down section, so I don’t expect it to be there for much longer. Use it as a chic oversized style tote to carry everything you need during the day or use it as a fabulous overnight carry-all.

The bag is dressed in a black scale-effect leather on the large oversized body with brass buckle detailing. The bag also features a large zip fastening pocket and a smaller zip fastening compartment on back. This designer tote also comes with double arm straps and even a removable shoulder strap. Make note, I don’t know if you guys noticed, but the straps are decorated with what appears to resemble cat puncture wounds to the leather. Or well at least that’s what it looks like to me.

Like the outfit pictured above? I know I cut part of it down the middle to make room for the oversized Jas MB tote, but you get the idea. The dress pictured above is called the sleeveless Shift by Hoss Intropia, the leggings are nothing special, you can find pair basically anywhere you shop retailing for about $30 a pop, and the shoes are the Inca suede ballet flats with swarvoski crystal details by designer Pedro Garcia. The whole look, including the bag weighs in at about $1,300.

Price: $725 $507.50

The Yves Saint Laurent Croc-Embossed Overseas Handbag

November 2, 2007

The Yves Saint Laurent Croc-Embossed Overseases Handbag
Not everybody likes the feel of exotic skin handbags, which is why designer houses like Yves Saint Laurent come out with an alternative, croc-embossed leather handbags.

The newbie bag above is called the Overseas Handbag. It’s dressed in super luxe grey crocodile embossed nubuck leather with a gold chain and lock drawstring detail. This tote also features double top handles that are just the right size to snuggly wear over the shoulder, decorative signature toggle closure at top, protective feet at base for those of us who will never get use to the “purse hanger”, a leather hang tag that hides keys to the ‘Y’ embossed padlock and a super spacious tummy that features black suede lining with a back wall zip pocket.

This bag is croc embossed too, which is why this bag isn’t going to cost you an arm-and-a-leg. Well it does cost a hefty chunk of change, more than what the average person will spit out on a handbag, but it’s a lot cheaper then what good old YSL would charge if it were dressed in the exotic animal skin. How much exactly will this designer purse cost you? $2,220. Not cheap but it’s so dreamy isn’t it?

Love the look pictured above? Get the whole outfit at mytheresa! Shown above with a shimmery purple sleeveless silk scoop neckline top by Sweetees, the fabulously faded black stretch ankle length Citizens of Humanity skinny jean with ‘LOVE’ embroidery at back pocket, and finished off with a pair of pearly grey and gunmetal patent leather Marc Jacobs Patchwork Oxford shoes. The whole look, including the luxe croc-embossed Yves Saint Laurent Handbag will set your bank account back around $3,610.
