YSL Y-Mail Black Patent Coin Purse

May 12, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alicia

YSL Y-Mail Black Patent Coin Purse
The Y-Mail Collection by Yves Saint Laurent presents a creative way to put a signature on a bag. I think this collection is adorable and fun yet still classy like most of their bags. Here we have the Y-Mail Patent Coin Purse in black, which looks just like a little piece of mail ready to be sent out. It is even has the traditional envelope closure on the back. I wonder if this one exists in white?! Though I will say that I love the black with gold writing combo since those two colors compliment each other so well. The address even looks authentic and not computerized. I’m really liking the details on this black cutie.

The Y-Mail Coin Purse comes with a price tag of $175, which I don’t think is too bad from something by YSL. So, considering its label and the fact that it’s not your average coin purse, I think it’s worth the price. I’d personally love to pull this one out each time I had to pay for something! I could see how some might think its a bit too much, but I just really love the Mail theme going on. Overall, I think this coin purse would make an awesome addition to an accessory collection.

See it at YSL

Free People Chubby Change Keychains

Free People Chubby Change Keychains
Does anyone remember when Jennifer posted about the adorable Chubby Change Purses that Free People had to offer? Here’s a link to the post so you all can refresh your memories: Free People Chubby Change Purses. Well, it just so happens that I was the first one to post about those cute little guys over at TBF. Jennifer liked them so much, that she did a blog post on them. They must have done very well over at the Free People website because they are sold out of every color now except for the black.

Well, anyway, I was over at the Free People website today and I saw a new product that they have out. This one is called the Chubby Change Keychain. Instead of a kisslock, these little guys have a big zipper going down their bellies. And the key clip lets you attach your keys to the pouch or the pouch to something else (like the model’s belt loop). These guys aren’t as cute as the Chubby Change Purses, but they do have some charm. Plus they are available in 7 different colors/patterns! Perfect if you need something to just stuff some cash into and go!

These guys are a steal at only $24! They are available exclusively in Free People Boutiques and online at Free People’s official website. Check them out here: Free People Clothing Boutique

Crocodile Card Cases: Nancy Gonzalez vs Saks Fifth Avenue

Crocodile Card Cases: Nancy Gonzalez vs Saks Fifth Avenue
Crocodile Card Cases: Nancy Gonzalez vs Saks Fifth Avenue
Crocodile (or alligator) handbags are so hot right now. Practically every designer has come out with a crocodile bag for Spring 2008 — and if not crocodile, its python or ostrich! But these are not boring brown or black bags, they are all in vibrant colors just right for the season. My favorite? I love the bright shades of orange!

So let’s say you have yourself a brand new croco bag from spring. How about some matching accessories to go with that bag? Wallets are okay, but lately I have really been in to credit card cases. So sleek, simple, and easy to switch from one bag to another. Plus I love how you can easily find the card you’re looking for while you’re checking out at your favorite store.

Pictured above, we have the brightly colored Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Card Cases and the Saks Fifth Avenue Alligator Card Case. Both cases are made of genuine crocodile/alligator. The difference? The price tag! While the Saks Fifth Avenue cases retail for a mere $150, the Nancy Gonzalez ones go for a whopping $390! The benefit of the Nancy Gonzalez version is the delicious colors that are available. But if you’re not willing to fork over the dough, then the Saks Fifth Avenue cases may be the better choice. Just be forwarned, they only come in the so-so colors of black or brown.

The Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Card Cases are available at Vivre.

The Saks Fifth Avenue Alligator Card Cases are available, of course, at Saks.

eLuxury’s ‘Allure of the White Handbag’

April 12, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Deysa

eLuxury’s ‘Allure of the White Handbag’
Spring is here and a hot new trend found in handbags right now are pretty whites! Just like a classic black bag, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a white handbag. If you head on over to eLuxury’s website, you can find a page dedicated to the hottest designer accessories available in the neutral hue of white. Four random accessories listed above would make a perfect edition to your spring bags collection.

Marc Jacobs Collection Patchwork Ines has got to be my white bag of choice. It’s such a pretty piece with such a classic vibe. I admire the white quilted grained leather, and the gold hardware of choice compliments the handbag, finely. The chained handles are very luxurious, they are definitely capable of turning a few heads towards you.

Craving logos instead? If so, the Fendi Forever seems like a great everyday tote. Within, you can find this bag divided into three main compartments, making this tote extremely spacious. Sporting Fendi’s famous “F’s” on clean white patent leather, it’s sure to please any logo crave in style.

How about a clutch? Everyone should own a great clutch for those bag-less days and evening outings. Dior carries the pretty Vinyl Cannage ‘D’ Clutch and Juicy Couture has their elongated clutch. You can find flap top closure and decorative adornments on both of these pieces.

Whether you prefer the tote, satchel or the everyday clutch, each piece is lovely and any would make a great addition to the stylish white accessory trend.

Louis Vuitton Epi leather Montaigne Clutch
Log onto eLuxury (dot com) now, and check out the spring collection ad by Louis Vuitton. Grenade and Cassis are the names of two new colors Louis Vuitton added to their Epi collection! One of the many accessories found in these lovely new shades include the Epi Leather Montaigne Clutch. This clutch has so many eye catching features starting with its nice exterior design. A combination of textured and smooth leather dress up the Montaigne clutch, while silver hardware compliments perfectly with any of the different shades of Epi leather. You can purchase the Montaigne in fun shades of grenade and cassis or in classic colors of black and ivory. I like how Louis Vuitton made this clutch so versatile. The removable and adjustable strap allows you to carry the Montaigne on the shoulder, as a wristlet, or as a simple strapless clutch! I also like the logo engraved push lock, I feel it gives character to the Montaigne, without this classy detail this clutch would seem so simple. Measurements of the Montaigne include 10.5” x 4” x 2.5”. With a price tag of $805, this pretty little clutch would be the perfect accessory to any occasion!

Recently seen in the hands of celebrities like Lindsey Lohan and Lauren Conrad, the Treesje Metro Clutch is the perfect “going out” bag. This over-sized clutch is large enough to hold all of your essentials including your cell phone, keys, makeup, and even your wallet! The simple, clean design of this bag makes it compatible with just about any outfit. You can dress it up or dress it down — anything goes! Hayden-Harnett: The Limited Edition Lido Zipper Wallet

Hadyen-Harnett: The Limited Edition Lido Zipper Wallet
Hayden-Harnett: The Limited Edition Lido Zipper Wallet
What do you get when you combine red leather with a cute print and put it in a small package? Why it’s this adorable clutch wallet from Hayden-Harnett of course! What I love most about this wallet is the added accent of fabric on the front flap. It gives it such a unique look and the color is perfect for spring! The particular print on this Lido Wallet was designed by Madame Paule Marrot. For those of you out there that are unfamiliar with the work of Paule Marrot, I was able to find a little background info on Hayden-Harnett’s website:

Quote:

Born in 1902, Marrot grew up in the Alsace region of France, and studied painting as a youth under the tutelage of Pierre-August Renoir, Raoul Dufy, and Maurice Denis. She quickly blossomed as a print designer, producing a staggering array of modern prints that captivated many across the globe, including Jackie Kennedy.

This wonderful little clutch wallet features a double-turnlock front pocket, looped wrist strap, ID window, 12 credit card slots (WOW!), 4 multifunction pockets, and a zippered coin compartment. The wallet measures 7 3/4″L x 4″H x 1 1/4″D and retails for $147.

You can find it in Harlequin/Tango Red here: Home Page

Junior Drake: The Jacquelyn Bag

March 9, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: BrS

Junior Drake: The Jacquelyn Bag
I was browsing through my favorite department store the other day when I came across this Junior Drake bag pictured above. I had seen Junior Drake bags before, but I guess I never really paid much attention to them. But since this bag sort of caught my eye, I decided to try it on and see how it looked. What did I think of this bag? Well, I can safely say that it isn’t bad at all. The bag hugs your body nicely and the braided straps are quite comfortable. Or perhaps I just like it because it reminds me of another bag I saw somewhere… I just can’t seem to place my finger on it though! Oh well, I’m sure it will come to me at some point.

Anyway, for those of you that are not familiar with Junior Drake, here is a little background info quoted from the Junior Drake website:

Quote:
A woman of legendary proportions is the inspiration for Junior Drake. Patsy Brown was born into a family of dancers and film actors. As a young aspiring actress, she took the name of Junior Drake as her stage name. Patsy (Junior Drake) has a unique personal style and inspired thousands through her community work, business enterprises, and exquisite vision. She personified femininity and defined the term avant-grade.

The Brown family sought to immortalize not only her unique sense of style, but her humanitarian legacy. She mentored many women throughout her life, helping them to unlock feminine qualities that bolstered self-esteem and fostered confidence.

The Jacquelyn Bag is constructed of soft, supple leather. It features braided double straps, a detachable shoulder strap, exterior pockets, and silver hardware. It’s a medium-sized tote measuring measuring 15″W x 12″H x 5″D. The retail price for this bag is $460.

Eccentric Inspirations Meet Vintage: Discover Designer Label KOTUR

February 18, 2008
post written by Bag Bliss blogger: Alicia

Eccentric Inspirations Meet Vintage: Discover Designer Label KOTUR
Fiona Kotur Marin first made her appearance in the fashion industry back in 2004 with the launch of her limited edition brocade clutches. The initial inspiration for her designs was from the find of an exclusive collection of vintage brocades that were originally woven for European Couture houses back in the era of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. And ever since, she has cultivated her collection of minaudieres, brocades and handbags from a hint of classic element and culturally artistic design. Not only does she use unique inspirations for the designs of her pieces, but she also derives their names from her friends and women who carry the same charismatic attributes and worldly passions that are within her.

Featured in her purses are details inspired by art and ethnicity that she has experienced and seen around the globe. These include a variety of exotic skins and materials such as Python, Ayers Snakeskin, Shagreen, Tortoise penshell, and feathers. Shown above is the famous Wallace Frame bag in both beautifully textured Italian leather and Python, examples of how her exotic inspirations meet classic retro. This bag is my favorite creation by Kotur as I love it’s timelessness and old fashioned appeal. This handbag starts at about $898. Besides the Wallace, there are also some amazing clutches with gorgeous details that surely makes them one of a kind. Pictured below is the Riddick with metallic snakeskin patterning , the Fane Pleated Ayers Snakeskin & Raffia, and the Fino Feathers purse, respectively:
The Riddick

The Fane Pleated Ayers Snakeskin & Raffia
The Fino Feathers
Did you notice that each one is adorned with a lovely jewel closure? This definitely adds a little elegance without being overly garnishing. Also, the vintage inspired shape of each clutch makes their unique exteriors more accepting, in my opinion. To start, I love the slight zig zag pattern on the Riddick and the light metallic colored exotic skins are perfect for the upcoming seasons. Secondly the Fane with a combination of two totally different materials is so unconventional! Who ever would have thought snakeskin and not just ordinary but metallic raffia would make a great team?! I think they are paired wonderfully together. Lastly, I wasn’t able to adjust to the Fino dressed in feathers. I personally don’t like feathers on ANY handbag, so that one is a definite ‘nay’ for me. However, the shape and small chain handle are adorable. Overall, I admire many pieces from her collection. Kotur is one new and rising designer that is definitely worth looking into!

The price tags for the featured pieces range between $300 to $900, depending on the style. Check these out plus many more over here: Kotur Ltd - Handbags and Shoes

Louis Vuitton Vernis Heart Purse from Saint Valentine Bag Collection

February 14, 2008
Louis Vuitton Vernis Heart Purse from Saint Valentine Bag Collection
Louis Vuitton Vernis Heart Purse from Saint Valentine Bag Collection
Last year Louis Vuitton presented this heart shaped purse just in time for the big V-day. The Saint Valentine heart shaped purse is created in Louis Vuitton’s highgloss monogram embossed Vernis canvas and features three signature charms - a key, a padlock, and an id plate. Very cute little accents.

What’s really cool about this little mini is it works great as a complementary pouch, and can be easily clipped to a bag with the chain key holder. Or you can go bag-less and attach it to your key chain.

The Louis Vuitton Saint Valentine Multicolore Heart Purse measurements are 1.2″ x 4.1″ x 3.3″ and retails in the neighborhood of $385. I know what you are thinking - not getting much space for that price. If you are looking for something a little bit bigger, I recommend the Monogram Multicolore Pochette MM (6.1” x 4”) that retails for $330, or if you want something in the Vernis line, check out the Key and Chain Holder (4.7″ x 2.8″ x 2.6″) that retails for $210.

If you are a last minute Valentine’s Day shopper, give Louis Vuitton a call to find the nearest boutique 866.vuitton

Or pick one up online at eluxury (availability: pomme d’amour)

Bottega Veneta Ebano Intrecciato & Hermes Powder Blue Organizers
In need of a last minute gift idea? Check out these stylishly handy organizers by Bottega Veneta and Hermes. Can you really ever go wrong with something from these designer houses? Sure alot of people are going digital these days by storing information on their pda, cell or laptop, but who cares. You would have to be insane to not want one of these pieces. Also, just think whenever they pop open their designer bag and pull out their little organizer they will think of you. . .

What I love most about these organizers is they’re chic yet not overdecorated with signature monogramming. For years Hermes and Bottega Veneta have been using the same techniques, making quality logo-less handbags and accessories - that is their signature.
