See by Chloe Joyrider Bag

Unfortunately, there are no enforced regulations on the amount of puff you can add to a handbag. Some fur pieces are absolutely striking and attractive, and then you have the ones that seem to be made out of the excess pelts from the good-looking ones. I always envisioned the brand of See by Chloe as the rebellious little sister of the French couture name of Chloe.

Emily Cho Oversized Folded Clutch

When I first saw the Emily Cho Oversized Folded Clutch, I thought perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me. I knew I had seen this design before. But where? Then it dawned on me. Of course, Alexander McQueen’s De-Manta Clutch! See the resemblance? Now I don’t know if McQueen was the first (ever) to come up with this design, after all it is pretty simple. But I do know that this design will forever be in my mind a McQueen. This is understandable, considering the Alexander McQueen De-Manta Clutch is practically everywhere!

Lutz Huelle Draped Bag

When I saw the Lutz Draped Bag at Luisaviaroma, I literally stopped in my tracks! Wow, what a beautiful piece! But wait, who the heck is Lutz? I have never heard of this designer before so I figured I should check them out.

Lutz Huelle completed his fashion degree at London-based Central St. Martins College and then worked for Maison Martin Margiela for 4 years where he was responsible for the knitwear and artisanal lines. He then founded Lutz Paris in 2000, together with David Ballu. The company originally produced ready-to-wear, but they later added accessories.

Prada Eco Mongolia Garden Tote

The Italian Couture House of Prada has a new furry suggestion to carry on arm. Ditch the fussy puppy and if you dare, give this fuzzy handbag a try – the Prada Eco Mongolia Garden Tote. So much furry disorder is going on in this piece. It looks like something I wouldn’t typically look at twice, but upon further inspection of this piece, one unexpected detail caught my attention.

What looks like an orb of exotic fur actually claims to be eco friendly, that is; the tote is made of faux fur. Quite a surprise as Prada is known to compose some very exotic pieces with fine furs in past collections. If you’re a fur advocate you may dislike the faux fur feel, while a fur activist who dares to wear something out of their ordinary taste, could actually sport this, guilt free.

English Outdoorsy Style: Chapman Flyfisher Bag

Recent events, like a small little royal wedding, have put more British designers on the fashion radar screen. These aren’t new emerging designers either. Some have produced high quality, enduring styles for decades (if not longer). Like Christmas morning, I eagerly watch for these lovelies to become more available to us Yanks, here in the states!

Chapman is one of those rugged, practical beauties the Brits love so much. Handcrafted using natural materials bonded to be waterproof, long-wearing and featuring easy maintenance with simple soap and water. English bridle leather and cotton non-marking webbing provide finishing details.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Yo Yo Dot

Well, it’s officially April and you know how the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers”. Soon it might be raining constantly, so it’s always grand to be prepared for it in the most fashionable way possible.

People always buy stylish rain coats and boots for the wet weather but why not a handbag too? Marc Jacobs has designed the most perfect tote for when the weather is less desirable. The “Yo Yo Dot” Rain Tote with Umbrella is the most cleverest bag I’ve seen in quite sometime.

The fact that it’s made from PVC is always a plus for wet weather. We all know that rain tends to leave stains on leather. I know whenever it’s raining, I tend to use my handbags that are PVC or patent. The feature I love the most about this tote is the fact that it includes an umbrella! Who would of ever have thought to attach an umbrella to a bag? The umbrella literally slips in right in the front of the bag making it easy for you to grab it in case you feel some sprinkles coming from the sky. Then as soon as it’s done raining you simply close it up and slip it right back.

Alexander Wang Doodle Backpack

Hold the name brand calling for a second and give this piece one more glimpse. Surprisingly, this bag doesn’t belong to a juvenile centered handbag mogul; it’s actually presented by the creations of American fashion designer Alexander Wang. This is definitely not your typical Wang, if you ask me. The Wang I admire brings out the best hardware and structures an edgy piece can present, not so much ecstatic vibe and color. We don’t dislike the Walker Doodle Print Backpack; it’s just a very different interpretation of what Alexander Wang is about. As every well known name out there has fulfilled, a funky and loud piece is a must have in every designers collection.
