Still a fresh face to the bag design scene, Anndra Neen was founded in April 2009 by two sisters Phoebe and Annette Stephens. Phoebe and Anne were born and raised in Mexico City, where today each piece is hand crafted by artisans. As an expression of their shared vision for jewelry and accessories, their designs evoke their personal histories and inspirations.
The Anndra Neen Oval Clutch is handcrafted with a mix of contrasting gold and silver-tone alpaca metal. The simplicity of this clutch is what makes this piece stand out. It’s really quite stunning. The only thing that I know some of you are going to say is, why isn’t there a slip pouch to go with? You don’t want your items to be on display, or even worse, slip out. So it would seem like that would be an essential addition to this clutch. I personally like the idea of using a colorful silk scarf to line the interior- it’s the perfect way to personalize it and mix things for whatever the mood or occasion. At least that’s what I would do. I have a few beautiful scarves that I’m already imagining paired with this clutch. Last time my boyfriend traveled to Mexico City to visit friends and clients he brought me back a couple beautiful scarves by Pineda Covalin- completely introducing me to the fashion house. Right now I’m totally imagining this clutch in my hands with the Monarch Butterfly scarf lining the interior.
