I’ve got to hand it to Mollie Culligan (the mastermind behind the Jack Rabbit Collection). A woman with great ambition, her biggest “foot in the door” was when her belt designs were discovered by Barney’s New York. Now her designs have been spotted on the bodies of celebrities such as Drew Barrymore and Mischa Barton. But Mollie Culligan isn’t all about belts. Nope, she designs handbags as well. And this one I have pictured here, the Concord Tote, caught my eye while browsing over at Shop Bop.

To tell you the truth, I’m not really sure why I zeroed in on this bag. It certainly isn’t my cup of tea. And yet, its so different from anything else I’ve seen. The shape is very unusual and vintage-looking. And I was astonished to learn that this bag is convertible. I never would have guessed that the bag could be folded over and converted to a shoulder bag. It’s still not something I could see myself carrying, but for some reason it is starting to grow on me. What can I say? It’s my love for Foley + Corinna that makes me think twice about this tote.

The Jack Rabbit Collection Concord Tote measures 18″ x 14″ x 3″ (18″ x 10″ x 3″ when folded). The hinged main compartment has a magnetic closure and the interior features two pockets (one zippered and one patch).

It’s available in Burgundy or Black and it retails for $672.

You can find it here at shopbop.com.

    I love the 2-in-1 idea.

These bags do not look appealing at all. Especially in the first picture.

The leather doesn’t look very soft. I’m really picky about my leather.

Well, it’s different. Not sure if I like it. This is a style I have to see in person.

This bag looks too odd for me.
