Kiss Portfolio Purse by Be & D
“What exactly is it?? was my first reaction upon viewing this one accessory over at ShopJake (dot com). After a bit of research, I concluded that it’s actually an oversized clutch with a rather unique and strange décor all over. Meet the Kiss Portfolio by be & d. Its most obvious pattern (found right up front on the clutch’s center) seems pretty familiar to me; actually, it reminds me a lot of vertical wooden panel flaps. According to its description, it states that the “panels? of leather are actually eel. Beyond its “wooden panels? design is a sheer body of distressed metallic silver leather, which makes up the bag concept.
There is something about this clutch that just doesn’t make me drool over it. It’s not the 12?x9?x3? size; because that’s a good enough sized clutch for my likings. But I feel what really disturbs me is the unflattering color combination found on this piece. There’s just something about the saddle-hued leather and the silver body that isn’t too impressive. I’m pretty sure the whole clutch concept is fine, but alterations of the colors could have been done for the sake of this clutch’s appearance.
So what do you Bagista’s think about this be & d? Do you find it unique and artistic or is it definitely a pass?
