Marni Jewel and Horn Embellished Clutch

I will admit, I don’t know a whole lot when it comes to Marni handbags. The styles are normally very plain and simple, but there will also be some weird pieces thrown into the mix without any sort of rhyme or reason. That is just speaking from my own personal experience, of course. So that is why I was surprised, but not REALLY surprised (if you know what I mean) when I saw the clutch you see pictured here. Introducing the Marni Jewel and Horn Embellished Clutch!

There is a plainer version of this lovely piece, known simply as the Marni Horn Embellished Clutch, which lacks the jewel embellishments on the front. The “horn” actually refers to the knobs on the kiss-lock closure, which are embellished with buffalo horn. The source is from India, so I presume that is water buffalo and not what we would call “buffalo” in the United States. Both versions are very nice. I absolutely love the look of an oversized clutch with a kiss-lock closure. But I think I like the jewel embellished version better. It just has a richer look to it. The ornate design is comprised of faceted jewels, gold leather pailettes, and gold sequins. Admittedly, they appear somewhat chaotic. But I think it only adds to their allure. This clutch would look great paired with black or (if you’re brave) other metallics.
