Akris Ai Bag
I remember back in April I was flipping through the pages of some glossy when I first learned about a rising star family-owned Swiss fashion label Akris.
Head designer Albert Kriemler and his team create the most beautiful pieces for those who crave gorgeous, modern, feminine handbags.
What I love most about the bags, besides the unique trapezoid “signature element” design is the minimal and discrete hardware with no logo in sight. The bags in the collection come in a variety of materials: fabric, calfskin leather and my favorite, horsehair, which is by a Bavarian company who was recently acquired by Akris. The horsehair is completely animal friendly; no animals are harmed. It’s made from cotton or silk woven with hair from a horse’s tail.
These bags are finally available over at Saks Fifth Avenue. There’s a small variety of bags ready for the picking: Medium Horsehair Ai Bag ($4,400), Medium Double-face Wool Dalmatian Print Ai Bag ($1,650), Medium Double-face Wool Ai Bag ($1,650), Small Quilted Calfskin Ai Bag ($1,990)
